“Father, can you come again?”

I asked my father as I pressed my phone closer to my ear with a half-eaten hamburger in one hand and my device pressed against the side of my face with the other.

“She locked herself up in the basement?”

“Yes it's been 2 hours and she refuses to come out. She says that she will only come out when I allow her to leave…”
