Evelyn's pov I had screamed so loudly by the time I opened my eyes, I saw that all the men were flying in the air as if they had been struck by powerful wind and all of them were only stopped when they hit the walls with great force that knocked them out.My eyes were glued to them as I was trying to wrap my head around what just happened. That was when I noticed that the nick on my elbow was not as small as I had initially taken it to be and I wrapped my fingers around it to stop the blood from flowing. Now it was in this awkward position that I had to somehow fish out my phone from my purse and call my husband, he immediately picked it up before the phone could ring for more than 2 seconds and he was pleading for me to come back to the dance floor. I quickly explained the situation to him and because of my injured elbow, I was not able to hold on to the phone for very long before it fell from my hand. I was worried that he did not understand everything. I said but turns out I had
Evelyn's pov It was already late and I was exhausted. I tried waiting up for my husband, swaying from side to side as the slumber battled with me and eventually it won, knocking me down to my bed as I slept off without another thought in my head. The next morning, I was gently woken up to the sight of breakfast in bed. My husband also had a very deep frown on his face as his forehead wrinkled and he sat on the side of the bed looking contemplatively from side to side. I greeted him a good morning and he seemed to have been startled out of his thoughts. He reached out and placed back a strand of my already messy hair, he smiled for a moment and then he let out an extremely exhausted sigh.“What happened last night? I tried waiting for you and everything but you took so long and eventually, I ended up falling asleep without realizing it…”He turned to give me his full attention and he told me that I should not apologize for falling asleep, he had not expected me to be awake anyway an
Evelyn's pov “Evelyn you have to stop right now, you have to stop or else you'll do something you're going to regret. You have to stop…”I felt like I was floating and drowning at the same time, but piercing through all of that was this voice, it was familiar…but for some reason, I couldn't remember who, and yet I felt like I had to do what the voice said then all of a sudden, it was like I was being pulled out of a pond and I was gasping for fresh air. There was something wet and yet slightly thick that seemed to run across my cheek. I brushed it with my fingers as I tried to get my bearings, just then I could feel somebody wrapping their hands around my shoulder and when I looked up, the face of my husband cleared and I was able to see properly. I was just able to see the blood that stained my fingers and while I wanted to ask how it happened, I was trembling so much that my lips just shook and nothing came out. What was even worse was when I saw what could have been the answer. H
Evelyn pov As I stepped out of the shower, the only thing that was holding on to my chest tighter than the towel was the guilt that I was feeling deep down inside me. My husband was sitting by the window and his eyes immediately traveled over to me across the room when he saw me. He had already disposed of my blood-stained clothes. I couldn't find them anyway. The steps I took were slow, but eventually, he waited for me to get to him by the window as he was tapping his fingers on the table in front of him as he rocked back and forward on the chair. When I finally reached him I found out my mouth was dry.“He's doing okay, the doctors were able to stabilize him and he's going to be fine. He just has some few dislocations and a couple of cuts but he'll be fine,”He said to me reassuringly and I felt like I finally released a breath that I had been holding back all this time. He stood up, brushing aside my slightly wet hair and he asked me how I was feeling. My head fell and I struggle
Evelyn's pov 3 weeks passed and nothing happened duringg those 3 weeks. My husband was the only person that I could train with and I preferred to do it at night because everybody else was mostly asleep at that time.Since I was sparring with my husband and I was not hearing any side talk that was gossip about me, I was able to concentrate and that power was not able to break out of me again to hurt him which was something I was grateful for.So, after these 3 weeks passed without any incident, my husband suggested that maybe I should try going out again. I was surprised that the suggestion was coming from him and he told me that people often liked to spread rumors but after sometime they would find something else to talk about eventually and from what he had been hearing, the rumors about me had mostly more or less died and if I wanted to go out I was free to do so. “I don't know if that is such a good idea,” I was now the one objecting to it and his eyebrow shot with surprise. He
Evelyn's pov “Ma’am I didn't damage your goods,” I said to the woman but she didn't believe a single word, coming out of my mouth, she was upset and angry then she took a closer look at my face. “Wait a minute, it's you, right?!” She hissed and the other woman that was pestering me announced loudly that I was the Luna and immediately several eyes were darting towards my direction. I wanted to find the nearest hole and somehow crawl into it without being noticed at all by all these people who were now whispering and mumbling around me, the pestering woman was still not satisfied yet. “So are you not even going to apologize to this woman over here that you threw away her sweet potato? If what she was selling was not going enough for you then why did you even bother to ask her anything?”She said, planting her hands on her hips and I looked at the woman who was selling the sweet potatoes, her own stars also announced that she was expecting an apology but I couldn't apologize for somet
Evelyn's pov At that moment when the woman's screams filled my ear before I could even lift my hand, someone rushed forward standing between me and the woman and the person had actually shoved me.Suddenly, even though I couldn't see anything it was as if my body had been wrapped around with some thin invisible ropes and I could barely move, however, I could feel my anger beginning to slowly dissipate and when I looked forward to see who had shoved me, I couldn't believe my eyes.It was Hailey and she had her fingers in front of the woman's face as she was more or less loudly asking her how many she could see before dropping her fingers and looking at me with a stunned expression on her face.“I'm glad I was able to arrive here in time. I don't know what else you would have done if nobody wasn't here to stop you. Were you actually planning to hurt this innocent woman just because she called you out?”The invisible ropes around me seemed to be thinning out more until finally, I was ab
Evelyn's pov The days slowly rolled by, I had come to the decision that anything I did, it was about to be criticized which was why I tried not to do anything. I was in my room most of the day and that was where I had my breakfast down to my supper. At first, my husband was always asking for me to come down and eat with him but at some point, he just stopped, he didn't make any request for me to come and eat with him and he seemed to be satisfied with me eating all by myself. In fact, it was hard for me to speak with him because he was always occupied. He said that he was still monitoring the investigation, not to mention running the pack at the same time and having to attend a lot of meetings. When night would come, he would complain about being exhausted and immediately shift over to Slumberland without asking me about my day or how things were going. I knew that things were not really moving for me and my life was mostly stagnant as I remained in this room every day but I was ho
