Chapter 145

Kian's pov

Her eyes widened up like saucepans and her entire body was trembling like someone that had been thrown into a snowstorm without protection. The desperation was thickly and broadly written all over her face as if somebody had done it with a permanent marker.

“Kian, what about my father?” She said, holding on to her last straw and desperately so as well, without any shred of shame to be found in her.

SAe tried to approach me but I gave her another warning look with my eyes. I wouldn't hesitate to shove her away again if she was ready to break the boundaries that I had clearly set, so she remained close to the couch brushing her leg awkwardly against it.

“What about your father?” I repeated, with my hands still crossed against each other but my emotions were not as unmoved as my face remained to be. While Hailey was a pest, I couldn't describe her father in the same way. In fact, it was the opposite. I actually respected the man a lot.
