Hidden Motives

 <Red Fox Clan>

“Brittany” The voice called, closer to her. She recognizes it immediately.

“Brad…oh my gosh…you scared me” She cursed, going to hug him

“What are you doing out here..you should be at the party” he inquired, noticing her uneasy look

“What’s wrong?”

“I…ermm…” She fidgeted, unable to find the appropriate word to use.

“You should also be at the party” She cooed

“No…I’m on patrol this night. I’m in charge of this arena, keeping watch. You haven’t answered my question, you are shivering” He hugged her tightly as they went under a tree, shading their figures out of view, completely.

“Speak up, we can’t be seen here” he whispered

“I…I killed someone….Oscar”

“What the F_” He exclaimed, looking round to avoid being heard by prying eyes.

“You did what?” He whispered

“It wasn’t intentional, he tried going down with me. I had to shoot him to free myself” She panic but tried to be calm.

“You shot_ jeez, this is serious. Ok, you know what; I want you to go to your room now. No one must know about this. Where is his corpse?”

“The male restroom”

“Fine, I know what to do. Hope you didn’t leave any trace that will implicate you” he asked

“Nope, I was putting on a hand glove, so there is no way any print from my hand will show on his cloth or so.”

“Good, I need to go see Macho”

“What!!!” She shriek “Do you wanna sell me out” She asked, frightened

“No way…why will I do that”

“I only wanna clear out some things; trust me” he slammed his lips on hears, giving her a quick k**s as he led her to her lounge; biding her goodnight.

She entered the room which was clearly empty; Nora will still be at the party, or perhaps in one guy’s room, getting a hard bang, she thought. She threw herself on the bed, dragging the blanket upward as her mind flashed back to the body of Oscar, lying lifeless on the floor, with blood gushing out of the two bullet wounds.

<HYBRID COMPANY>

*The Third Audition*

The auditorium was filled with crowd cheering and yelling the names of the judges as they marched to their seats, magnificently in their dresses. The contestants were called to stage, as they await their result; fear clearly written on their faces but they tried to conceal it with a fabulous smiled.

“Welcome back everyone to this honourable gathering. As we all know, this is the third audition of the hybrids music contest, and this time we will be biding some contestant, goodbye. We are looking for just a single person who will take the crown home, but out of twelve, eleven have to drop on the way, to give chance for the winner” the stage director muttered, holding a piece of card in his hand, as he addresses the people, who yelled with exciting in response to his speech. 

“So, we are gonna be announcing those who will be going home, and mind you, they are just two for today. And here are the names of those who won’t be partaking in the next stage. Dim the light”

The contestant where clearly shivering, no one wanna lose. As for Ariel, she kept her bright smile glowing, she believe she would make it at least. Well, one just needs to one optimistic.

“Dylan Asbury….and Diana Charles…..Sorry guys, but you won’t be moving to the next stage” He muttered, as they suddenly became sad, but just pretend not to be. They hugged the remaining contestant goodbye and left the stage.

“And now, the remaining ten will have to perform what they have for us this night. Watch out for the best performance” He screamed into the microphone, as the crowd cheered. The group performed a song together, and later performed, individually. It came to an end in two hours, earning cheers, smiles and comment from the judges to those who performed well including Mia and Ariel. They got the highest vote, with a young guy following up.  

*Back Stage*

“Geez..that was tough, can’t believe we will make it to the next stage. Those they dropped were damn good too” Ariel muttered, as Mia nodded in affirmation

“Sure, but such is life anyway. All we need to do is to out in more effort. If I ain’t winning, then I will make sure I get a name before leaving this stage, it’s worth it to be popular you know. At least my name will be on some people’s lips for a good performance, and I can start from there to win people’s heart.” Mia boasted. Ariel laughed

They were still taking when a young guy walked up to them. He was part of the contestant; the guy who was gaining more points too

“Hi girls….sorry for interrupting…I’m Jack” he muttered with a smile, directing his gaze to Mia who rolled her eyes. Ariel returned the smile, accepting his handshake, but Mia just fumed with her arms folded

“Hi…I’m Ariel, and this is Mia, my friend” She replied

“Wow, Mia…cool name. Hi…” he muttered. Mia almost blush at his gesture, but tried to keep a tough face. Ariel noticed this and chuckled.

“So, you both were damn amazing back there on stage, can’t believe we still got angels on earth who sings marvelously” He commented. Ariel chuckled, but his gaze never left Mia, who kept throwing glares at him.

“Can we exchange contact; you know…who won’t wanna be friends with angels like you both”

“Sure” Ariel stated

“Like seriously…huff” Mia scoffs, walking out of them. Ariel shrugs not knowing why she behaved that way.

“Erm…sorry about her attitude, she isn’t really like that, just don’t know what came over her. Perhaps she is in a bad mood” Ariel stated. He chuckled

“Sure, she will come around, perhaps” He mumbled. They exchanged contact while he left.

Mia’s POV

I walked out of them in anger, yea, I know that guy, Jack. He used to be my classmate back then in high school. One of the popular guy in the history of the school; charming in his ways, brilliant, gat a nice voice, good dancing skills, in fact, let’s just call him perfect. But one more thing I don’t like about him is that, he is a flirt; like a big time flirt. He uses girls like dirt and dump them when he is done, just because he gat the looks, girls are always tripping for him, well not me though, cause I was his big time enemy. We don’t get along and we have never for once done that. He finds pleasure in teasing me and making me feel inferior, which I hate with passion. His parent are also damn rich, as in, I wonder why he applied for this contest, I’m sure he gat twice the amount we are gonna be given in his account; perhaps he wants more fame though. 

On our arrival here in Hybrid musicals, I sighted him sitting in the seats reserved for the contestants and ever since then, he had been trying to hook up with me; but trust the Mia you know, I ain’t giving him any chance.

Sophia’s POV

I left the venue just after the program ended, and went to my suite; or should I say, the Triple girls suite. Well, this space is reserved for me and the girls. Talking about Nina and Emma, I unlock the door going in fully, but found it empty of their presence.

“Where could they have gone to, it’s almost 7pm” I thought, bringing out my phone to place a call through them.

“Emma picked at first ring.”

“Hey pumpkin” She screamed form the other end. I rolled my eyes.

“Where are you girls” I huff

“Oh, sorry we didn’t tell you. We are on our way to the Night club Betty is holding. So have fun sleeping alone this nig…” I hanged up the call before she could finish her statement.

“Foolish girl” I muttered, slumping on the bed, as I take off my shoes. A knock suddenly came on the door, as I mutter a ‘come in’. Well, there no cause for alarm, cause the guards might have interrogated and search the fellow before allowing them in, and if anything happens, there are emergency switch in the rooms. The fellow came in looking glorious in her figure; no wonder he couldn’t get enough of her. She really worth being the best Model, but God dammit, Axel will never be her man but mine; I smirk as she walks closer, wearing this sad look.

“Sophia” Flora called, dropping her bag on the couch as she takes her seat.

“How did it go” I asked her. She frowns, her brows arched

“What do you mean” She asked. I chuckled

“I knew you went to Aiden’s house, tell me I’m lying” She heave a sigh

“Don’t tell me you are stalking me”

“What if I am…look her Barbie, don’t try to play smart. I gat my eyes on you”

“I can’t do what you asked me to do. It’s not gonna work that way. He sees me as a slut now and making such advance will only make it worse. Please Sophia, just let me be, I have terminated my relationship with axel, what else do you want from me, huhn?” She Snapped. My eyes held fury as I stared at her, I feel like wrecking that little life out of her.

“I need more Flora, more. The plan is still on, just know that if you back out, then you are dead” I snorted. Tears were already threatening to fall off her eyes, but who cares. She can cry as long as she wishes.

“I’m out of here” She whispered, picking up her bag as she leaves the room.

“Fuck you Flora, you are sick a fool”

Taking off my dress, I went into the bathroom to have a quick shower. I did that in a jiffy, wrapping the towel on my body which already dripping wet with water. Entering the room, it was dark, meaning; someone had tampered with the switch, because there wouldn’t be a blackout.

“What the f**k; no one is in the room and the last time I checked, the light was on. It wouldn’t that the girls are back and are tryna play tricks on me, nope. Or is it Flora? Geez, she left few minutes ago. Then who did this, or is it a ghost. Jesus Christ” I shriek at the thought of it, rushing toward the switch as I tried putting it on. The light flickered as it shines around the room. My heartbeat suddenly ceases beating at the sight of a figure sighting on the bed. I gasp in shock

“Who are you” I asked, whimpering.
