That evening, Emily sat with Will and recounted the day's happenings. "Claire approached me after school," she added, her voice full of displeasure. "She practically gloated about the probation."

Will grimaced as his protective instincts kicked in. "Claire Montgomery?" "What is her problem with you?"

"I don't know," Emily acknowledged. "She's always been competitive, but this is another level. I believe she has been spreading falsehoods about me, turning people against me."

"We need to find a way to expose her," Will said with resolve in his eyes. "She can't get away with this."

Emily nodded, feeling more determined. "I agree." But first, I need to prove myself to the board. I cannot afford to make any mistakes."
