Let Me

The portal led us right to where we had parked the car. It was right where we left it. I pushed Lance to the passenger's seat and allowed him to rest, not waiting a single moment to go to the driver's seat and inserting the keys to the ignition.

“Let me drive,” he mumbled and I grunted but did not reply to him.

“Hayley–”

“Enough Lance, you have done just enough,” I seethed.

I turned the key and the car responded. There was no time to waste at all, so I drove off. Away from the coven or their territory.

The sun was already setting, the moon was somewhere in the sky but the sun did not let it shine as bright.

My anger had depleted and Lance was still fast asleep. His body needed to heal internally and that was why he had fallen into sleep.

We were still on the road, I knew we could not make it back to our pack on time and Lance would not enjoy an all night journey. So I drove our way back to the hotel. We still had a night there to spend.
