"Well," Zara sighed out. "That was eventful."

I didn't say a word. Lance needed to cool off and I was not sure if I was to follow him or just stay put and wait for him to come back when he was ready.

"Leave him," she said to me. "Let him let out steam."

"Why won't you just tell us and let us leave? That is all we ask for," I turned to meet her.

"The fact that I have not killed you two is still surprising to me," she looked at me blankly.

"I know he has been bad to you, but he has changed–"

"Spare me the chit chat, I'm not interested. If he has changed then that is his business to worry about not mine," she replied listlessly.

"I get that he has hurt you before, trust me he has hurt me too. Probably way worse, the fact that you still hold it in you will devour you," I told her truthfully.

"You forgive him so easily because you don't have a choice, you two are mated to each other," she responded.
