It Was A Dream

The atmosphere was solemn as I walked past people demurely-dressed. There was no music but I could almost imagine a quiet piano playing at a far distance. Clutching onto my shirt, I refused myself from shedding more tears.

I walked up to her open coffin and saw her dressed in a white gown, even in death, she was beautiful. I wasn't there for her, I could've been stronger. She fought for me and I couldn't do anything to save her.

I had to watch her die just as I watched my brother die.

"Heyley, please I don't want to die," Dominic said.

He was so young, too innocent to have to face what was happening.

"You won't die, don't talk like that. I'll save you I promise," I reassured him in tears.

"But you're obviously weak, it'll kill both of us," Dom argued but I shook my head in disapproval.

"I'm a healer, it's my duty and u can't watch you suffer," I brushed my fingers against his cheek to wipe off his tears.

"You have always been so stubborn Hayley, even more than sister," he smiled
