I Did It To Protect You

He was laying still on the bed, his heart was beating normally, making me sure that he was still definitely alive. I opened my mouth to say something to him, but nothing came out of my mouth. I reached out to touch him but I had to rethink it.

'You missed me so much didn't you?' Lance said over the link and I could almost see a mocking face on him although he was backing me.

'You wish,' I denied, finally deciding to take a seat on our bed.

I did miss him, I feared I was going to lose him to the war too.

Abruptly, he turned around to face me. My throat itched when he pulled me to himself and I landed on his bare chest. I remembered the night he told me I felt more comfortable sleeping without a shirt on.

There were some unhealed scars on his body and I let my hands roam freely, touching each and every one of them as if to feel his pain during the war.

"You still haven't told me what happened," I whispered softly to him.

"Alright, you're just going to keep asking anyway," he sighed
