And what now, Sir?

The mysterious man then left them, and Gwen, still confused by Dominic's words, asked, "What do you mean, Sir?"

"It's nothing, let's go in quickly," he pointed towards the open elevator door, once again leaving them alone. In a short time, both of them reached the basement floor. While Dominic was searching for his car, Gwen walked to the public bus stop. As usual, she commuted using public transportation. After waiting for some time, the vehicle she was waiting for finally appeared.

Her journey from the office to home was faster than usual, with no significant traffic. Once at home, Gwen immediately cleaned herself, changed clothes, and rested. Her long day quickly ended and transitioned into a new one.

It felt like Gwen had just slept for a short while when she had to wake up again because her alarm had sounded. After stretching, she got out of bed and headed to the bathroom. It didn't take long for the tall woman to get ready for work, and after styling her hair, Gwen was ready to leave for the office.

Taking the public bus, she headed to her workplace. The 30-minute journey had passed, and now she was waiting in front of the elevator. After a short wait, it was her turn to enter and go upstairs.

"Gwen... it's serious, have you heard the latest gossip?" Tsuri said anxiously, approaching Gwen who had just come out of the elevator.

"What gossip? I just arrived; I don't know the latest gossip," Gwen replied.

"Earlier, I saw someone sticking your photo on the elevator door. Everyone who was about to take the lift saw it. They started talking about you, gossiping."

"What photo? Why is there a picture of me?" the woman asked, confused by Tsuri's explanation.

"Your photo with Mr. Boss, in the office lobby. You were talking, looking at each other," Tsuri added. Gwen recalled the incident from yesterday afternoon when she was alone with Dominic. She never expected someone to take their picture and make it a subject of gossip. "Is that a real photo? How could it be?"

"Yesterday, I was busy working, lost track of time, and when I—"

"Come to my office now!!" Dominic suddenly appeared.

Gwen rolled her eyes; her boss suddenly came and told her to go to his office. Surely, he knew about the new gossip that spread quickly. "I'll go first," she said to Tsuri.

She followed behind the sturdy figure of Dominic, walking towards the company leader's office. Once in the room, Dominic immediately took out two white and pink items.

"Grandpa has prepared two samples of wedding invitations."

"W-what?" she exclaimed. Gwen was shocked to learn about this; she took the two items and opened them. Her full name and even her boss's name were written, along with the wedding date. "Are we getting married on the 31st tomorrow? Isn't that a working day?"

"It seems like he just randomly put in a date or maybe he does want the wedding on a working day," Dominic replied with a flat expression.

"And what now, Sir?"

"Don't know. He told us to choose the color. But I don't want to choose," Dominic answered, appearing indifferent. He moved towards his desk, turning on his laptop.

"I won't choose either," Gwen said while placing the invitations on the table. She was about to step towards the door.

"There's a new gossip about you and me, did you know?"

"Yes, Sir, Tsuri told me earlier. Apparently, some prankster took advantage of our moment yesterday. I apologize, Sir," Gwen said, feeling uneasy about her boss.

"I apologize too. Hopefully, you won't be bullied by other employees. Let me know if they bother you," replied the man with long hair. "You can go now."

Gwen nodded and excused herself for the second time. However, her steps halted because Dominic spoke up again. "So, you don't want to choose the invitation card?"

The woman looked confused; she didn't choose the color of the wedding invitation card because it was impossible for her to marry her boss. Dominic was the highest-ranking executive in the company, and she was just a new low-ranking employee who accidentally entered the room when the two leaders were discussing the wedding.

"First, those two colors are not my favorite, and second, I'm sure I won't marry—"

The sound of the room door opening could be heard. Mr. Charles arrived early in the morning. "Have you chosen the sample wedding invitation cards? White looks more elegant, doesn't it?"

Gwen and Dominic exchanged glances, both sighing in unison. "Why is Grandpa in such a hurry to make wedding invitation samples?"

"You already have a prospective wife, but there's no invitation, so I made it for you," Mr. Charles replied. "I've also ordered a wedding dress for Gwen because I know she won't be able to afford it."

Her eyes widened, her heart throbbed painfully upon hearing that. Although it was true, the poor girl who moved to the city to seek a better life wouldn't be able to afford a beautiful and expensive wedding dress.

"Grandpa!!"

"I'm being honest; I don't want to pretend in front of my prospective grandson-in-law, Dom. He will be part of our family, so he needs to know who I really am," the elder man explained at length.

"Yes, but not like this," Dominic interjected.

The middle-aged man shifted his gaze to Gwen. "Since I knew you were Dominic's choice, I immediately looked into you. The lunch invitation was to convince me that you are the right woman to join our family."

"Grandpa..." Dominic repeated; he felt sorry for Gwen.

"Do you know why I deliberately chose a working day? Because Dominic is marrying you. I thought you only needed to get married without having a party," he explained. The young woman almost cried hearing that.

"We will hold the wedding party on the weekend, Gwen. We will get married as it should be, so that everyone knows that the rumor is not true," Dominic said, taking a stand to protect the dignity of his employee. Gwen was already deeply involved, and she shouldn't be treated like this.

"You've been talking about many things since earlier and ignoring my feelings," Gwen said, her voice trembling.

"This is not the time to think about your feelings, Gwen. I've also ignored my own feelings," Mr. Charles replied. His voice was louder than before, causing Dominic to rise from his seat.

Gwen now looked at Dominic, her tears flowing as if expressing her wounded heart. Dominic knew that sooner or later, Gwen would reveal the truth, and if that happened, he was afraid his grandfather's illness would recur. Maybe this time he would lose his grandfather.

He stood up from his chair and walked towards Gwen, kneeling down and saying, "Miss Stewart, will you marry me?"
