Chapter 5: Baby in My Stomach

“HAHAHAHA! Whe-where did you do it again?” She had been laughing for an hour about what I told her.

“Whatever.”

“In a car? You lost your virginity in a car? What a special experience!” Making fun of my misery was her pleasure, I see.

“Can you shut up?”

“Only if you tell me what really happened.” I didn’t have the chance to tell her all the details when she started laughing endlessly, now I wouldn’t dare to tell her anymore.

“Nothing, get out.” She even trespassed her in my bedroom just to ask me what happened when she knew the plan.

“Okay, lemme just watched it in the mirror.” And she vanished, she was about to cast a spell on the mirror.

“Okay-okay, I’ll tell you.” I’d rather tell her than let her see what I have done.

“It happened in a car, after that I lost track and woke up in a hotel room.”

“That’s it?” She asked, she needed something juicy and interesting story but sad to say I didn’t have any.

“What else do you think?” I lay back and cover myself with a blanket.

“Are you going to tell me how was it, how does it feel? Was it amazing?” I harshly closed my eyes to erase the memories. It was fine but she didn’t need to know.

“Get a man and experience it yourself, I want to sleep. I am trying to think how to get him.” I said, I was very sleepy but I had to get up to tell her what happened.

“You want him, don’t you?” She pulled the blanket away from me which irritates me more.

“Enough for ruining my morning, Hella! What are you saying? Can you even hear yourself?” I pulled my blanket back and closed my eyes again.

“Then why do you want to get him?”

“I need to kill him, he could ruin my name.”

“Forget it, a guy in that status doesn’t barge who they sleep with to the crowd. They are secretive and silent fucker.” And I felt her hug me. “He’ll show up in your sleep.” She whispered and jumped out of bed before I could smash her.

She was laughing while running out of my room, she was crazy, surely crazy.

***

“Gale, I want you to find this man.” I pointed my finger to the mirror and showed his face to her. She took a picture of it and leave my office. It has been a week and I couldn’t find him so I asked her for help.

I suddenly smelled garlic, I instantly covered my nose and my mouth. It was awful, it was making me feel sick.

“Zill! I brought your favorite bread.” Hell showed up with bread on a plate.

“Throw that away!” And I couldn’t take it anymore, I ran to my bathroom and vomit all my stomach has. “Stupid garlic!”

“Are you okay?” I started vomiting again when I smelled her breath.

“What the hell, wash your mouth it smells stink!” I squealed so she stepped back.

“Ouch, it's just garlic. That’s your favorite for mother's sake.”

“Get out!” I heard her snap her finger and I was sure that she was gone with the bread since I couldn’t smell it anymore.

What the hell, I love garlic and now I couldn’t stand its smell anymore. Maybe that bread was spoiled. That awful smell made my head hurt so snapped my finger and went to my room.

I climbed in and rest for a while.

“Hey! What’s with you?” I heard an irritating voice of Hell which made me cringe on my forehead.

“Go away, this is your fault you brought spoil bread and I made me vomit now my head hurts.” Still, I felt her climb into my bed and lay below me.

“It was not spoiled for your information, I just bought it and even ate half of it. Most of all it doesn’t smell awful, it smells garlic 'cause it was a loaf of garlic bread, isn’t that didn’t make sense?” Now I hate her lectures she should go and leave me alone.

“What do you need?”

“I don’t need anything, YOU need me. You are strangely irritable today which wasn’t too odd since you’re a bad bitch but you were irritated over food which was your favorite and it is disturbing, yeah.” She was being too loud and I hate it.

“I need rest not you, you brought me stress.”

“I brought your favorite food! I noticed that you have been searching for a guy for a lame reason so I think you need a little break.” She said and felt her tickle my sole.

“Yeah, you break my appetite, perfectly.”

“Goshhh, could you stop? You are weird today, tell me I’m wrong.” She sat up and I looked at her. The garlic bread was my favorite food indeed. That got me thinking for a while.

“I don’t get it?”

“Maybe your pregnant?” She uncertainly said and my eyes widen.

“How can we check if I am pregnant?”

“Pregnancy test, perhaps?”

“Silly, do you think a human device would work on me?” I rolled my eyes and went down. I stood across my mirror and looked at my stomach. It was just a week ago. It would be way too soon if that’s true.

“How about we consult our elders? I think that’s the best, for now, to make sure. And especially my flight would be tomorrow, I would love to know if you are really pregnant before leaving.” She said and I remembered she was planning to travel anywhere I didn’t care.

“I won’t be able to sleep too.” I agreed and she vanished to prepare for leave. I changed my clothes into travel clothes.

“Will we be using the brooms?” She suddenly popped out in front of me and asked that.

“It’s twenty, twenty-two. Why will you use a broom these days?”

“You are bitchier today, you kept retorting questions for my questions. I was only making sure you want car over broom your favorite broomstick.” She always had a lot to say and that didn’t make sense to me.

I drove and she was cruel to sleep the whole trip. I stopped at the end of the road and we should walk from here. “Wake up,” I said and slapped her thigh.

“You know what I think I should stay and help you with your pregnancy if ever you are indeed pregnant.”

I could consider that, even though I would get irritated by her presence she’d always help me. I shook my head and continued walking.

“I am not your responsibility.” She had been a good friend and I was only a bitch to her. She deserves to have a little getaway.

“I was just thinking,” she mumbled. She knew that I’d be needing her which was probably true but I would stop her from what she wanted.

We arrived at our coven and we were greeted with a trap. Good thing I noticed it before I could step on it. I crossed my arms and looked around.

“Aren’t you going to show up and greet your majesty?” I was calling out our leader who was envious of everything I have since before.

“Good to see you again after a long time, Zilla.” Lady Fion showed up and greeted me indeed.

“I have wiped the Eir Once clan, I think you owe a little,” I said straight before she could utter anything fake and pretentious.

“Thank you very much, Zilla-”

“I helped too.” Hell cut her and her quick glare didn’t escape from my guard.

“Thank you, Zilla and Hella. It’s been a while, I thought I would not see you again.” She said in her most soft and calm voice. She even smiled and blinked her long lashes.

“I hope too. Anyways, we need to talk to Miss Calla our elder.” Hell said and walked passed her. I followed her and left Lady Fion. We walked straight to her house but Lady Fion stopped us.

“And why do you have to see, Miss Calla? I would love to hear your reason, ladies.”

“I would love it if you stay out of our way, Lady Fion. Whatever it is you have nothing to do with it.” That part, being my spokesperson was Hell’s favorite job.

“How dare you disrespect me, Hella!” She had gone mad so I snapped my finger behind me and she didn’t see it coming. She froze and we continued walking to her house.

“I saw you were coming.” She said soon as she opened her house. We entered and she gladly offer us seats.

Soon as she locked her door, no one from outside could hear what would be our conversation about.

“How are you, Miss Calla?”

“I am well and weakening. My offer for you to take my place is still open. You are the most suitable for my judgment.” She said and took her seat.

“How about me, Miss Calla? I can do what Zilla can do. I think I can be like you too.” She presented herself and Elder Calla looked at her from her head to foot.

“Maybe.”

“I hope you know what I came here for.” I couldn’t wait any longer.

“That’s what I don’t know yet.” She honestly answered.

“Am I pregnant?” I dropped the question carelessly which made her mouth hanging open.

“You are cursed.” She stated, that she knew me and all my past.

“I know but I wanted to be so sure.” She signaled me to stand and she touched my stomach. I felt movement inside me so I looked at her.

“I can hear a heartbeat.” I couldn’t hide my smile anymore. I am pregnant.

“Impossible! You are cursed by your mother.” She sat down so I did too.

“But I am pregnant.”

“Yeah because the baby isn’t a full witch, it's half-human,” Hella said and Elder Calla looked at me to confirm it.

“Then this would be very risky, you need to be very careful. This would be a miracle child if this survives. Her half soul is cursed to die and the other half soul should be strong enough to survive this.”

I didn’t know how to answer her. “It was hard for us to find another job, the main road was a mile away from here. Also, we didn’t have a degree to apply in the city.” Mina added, I see. “Well, not a problem.” Their faces immediately lit up with full glee. “Thank you, Madam. "I am carrying a half-witch and a half-human not a vampire, Hana." I corrected her. "I'm sorry, madam Zil. Hana is very transparent with her emotion and everything that is in her head. A few meters away, there was her father sulking like a baby. Like I would go after him. “We must find somewhere to stay, it’s getting dark,” I said, and she nodded. Our elders said that a powerful creature was hidden inside that kept the mountain alive and magical. For decades, because of the creatures hidden inside there, we never need to travel to other places to gather everything we need to live. Mother easily opened the door.
