Chapter 165 Everything Is Meant to Be

The next morning, Emmett emerged from the guest room. He was stunned when he saw Jean busying herself in the kitchen.

He was very sure that he had left her apartment last night.

"Jean."

Upon hearing Emmett calling her name, Jean turned around to see him standing in the living room, half-naked.

It was only a quick glance before she averted her gaze. Then, she stated, albeit awkwardly, "I washed your clothes for you last night. They're in the dryer right now. I suppose they should be done by now. You should wear them."

Emmett could tell that his presence made Jean quite uncomfortable. He went to the dryer and collected his clothes before putting them on.

The fresh laundry had a nice scent to it, just like the scent that usually wafted from Jean's clothes.

Emmett's mood improved drastically after making that discovery.

Once he was done changing, he turned to see Jean serving breakfast on the dining table. Everything seemed so natural and perfect.
