Jean looked at Sydney and nodded.

"Indeed, I was raised in the countryside without any resources. At first, I thought it was because the Michaels family was too poor to raise two daughters. Later, I learned that Joyce just didn't want me to be as successful as her.

"She was worried I would steal her spotlight."
