Chapter 6 (The Suspicion)

I dashed to my room and started to pack up my things. My heart is thumping inside, and I couldn't remove these tears away from my delicate cheek. I check on my drawers to find something, like evidence. Frankly, this is upsetting as my mind is jelly.

Abruptly, I found a cellphone. It's mine, isn't it?

Sniffling, I swear. "Shit, shit, Shit!" I hated the feeling that my anger turns into tears.

I look up as I wiped my tears away. Unexpectedly, someone barged inside my room without knocking on the door.

"Honey, are you okay?"

When I heard his voice, I instantly dropped my mouth wide open. I bet he sees my eyes widening as he is dazed by the look on my face.

Drifting my gaze away, I said. "What brings you here?"

Watching him carefully, he sighed as he walks to the sofa to take a seat. Slowly, I hide my phone in my pocket.

"We should talk. It's been days, Erina. Stop giving me off a cold shoulder." He bluntly stated. His eyes dim, looking so serious over this matter.

Hitching, I raised both of my hands in the air, saying, "Fine, let's get to business." Then, I walk closer to the empty sofa to face him. Anxiously, I take a seat.

"Business? I am not here for business, Erina. I am worried about you. Have you been crying for days just because I didn't kick Celci out?" His voice. It sounds so worrying. If I hadn't discovered his little mistress on the phone, I would probably fall for this.

Unfortunately, he turns my heart into stone-cold.

Pretending, I spat. "So, what if I am?"

He raffles his hair, and he looked at me with such disbelief as he pronounced. "You are being childish, Erina. I want the old Erina back! The one who is understanding that doesn't make a fuss over a small thing."

Clenching both of my hands, I stand up from the seat, giving him a death glare. "I am sorry that I am no longer the Erina you wanted, but remember, you made me like this. You turned me into a person you wish you didn't have, Jericho!"

His complexion changed after I said those words out loud. I know my voice was laced with venom, and I wanted him to know that he messed with the wrong person. But, why am I so worked up to this?

He breaks away from our intense eye contact as he said, "We need some time with each other, Erina. Anyway, I have a business meeting tonight, so I might be home by tomorrow."

'Tomorrow?' I pondered suspiciously.

Sneakily, I carved out an evil smile as I said in agreement.

"Yeah, sure! Be home by tomorrow. I am sure you need some time to think in your office too." I sarcastically told him while smirking bitterly.

I won't let you get away with this!

"Well, then. I hope you won't stress out yourself too much. You can start mending terms with Celci. Just tell her also when you need something." He stated plainly without looking into my displeasure expression.

Before I could say a single word out, he marched out of my room, slamming the door.

Flinching, I scream. "Bastard! You'll pay for this!"

Then, I get my phone to check on the contact, and I texted my mother to ask for my husband's company address and plate number.

The night has come as a welcome lull in this wide space mansion.

I immediately go out of my room to tell my husband goodbye. As I walk in this open hallway, my vision lands on the man in a black suit as he combs his hair sideways.

Gulping, I called. "Hey, you ready for work?"

He looks totally fine to go to work, and I bet all ladies would drool at him every time he passes by.

Sighing, I shake off my thoughts.

His baby blue eyes dart on my face, cocking his eyebrow. "Yeah, I'll call you when I'm free." Then, his eyes narrow as if he is studying me.

Forcing a chuckle, I replied. "No need, you are busy. I'll just wait for you to come back home."

Showing a toothy smile, he then planted a gentle kiss on my forehead. Damn, it's making me vomit in an instant.

"By the way, where's Celci?" I asked innocently.

He looks taken aback by my question before he could smile at me. "She's probably in the garden. Should I tell her to check on you?"

Shaking my head sideways, I told him that it was fine since it would be troublesome.

For the first time, he agreed with me as he didn't force me to interact with that stupid maid. I patted his back, and he looks at me joyfully.

Fuck, I know you look happy not because of me sending you to work, but because you will finally spread your mistress's legs behind my back.

"Well, I have to go now." He announced as he pulls me into a hug. I hugged him back, rolling my eyes out. I feel so grossed out. Why do I have to respond to his unnatural affection towards me?

We decided to break away from our embrace, even though I know we are both forcing it. I cautiously watched him turn his back on me, and he opens the door. He gave me one last look before walking out of my sight.

As his footstep, scent, and appearance disappeared, I quickly make my move.

Carefully, I watched the hallway as I don't want to get caught because I have something up to my sleeves.

Maneuvering my body to the cabinet, I saw a curler and unused make-up set. Subconsciously, my lips purse up.

Wasting no time, I plugged the curler into the electric socket to use it. Then, I quickly put on the makeup on my face.

Gasping, I was petrified by my own reflection. I wasn't aware that this naive look could pull off such a classy appearance. Well, that's all thanks to the drastic makeover.

Giggling, I was having fun with what I am doing.

Fastly, I look for a dress that will suit me today. But, because I feel so twisted I chose this sparkly, open-slit black dress. Then, I put it on.

The dress wraps on my skin, showcasing my slim waist, and wide hips. Wow, this dress's cloth is so soft like a petal and it impressed me.

Now I look so different. Whew!

For the final touch, I picked up a red lipstick. After all, Red is an attitude of being classy and crazy.

Later at that moment, I left my room without leaving a single trace of where I am heading.

Jericho POV

Unaware, I sighed so loudly while staring blankly at my car's window.

"Are you okay, Mr. Arison?" Worried, asked my driver.

"I don't know. My wife suddenly becomes a different person. It's like I don't know her." I expressed with a little tone of guilt.

"Didn't you say she forgot about you, and her family? What will you do if she finds out again? She freaked out and broke down once. I still remember the look of despair on her face, and now that she's having a memory loss, would you still refuse to tell her?"

"I know. I don't even have a clue, but I feel uneasy. I feel like something is coming. Even though she becomes different, I know she would still refuse to let go of me because she is hungry for my love."

I bit my lips as I couldn't believe that I sounded so confident. I could even sense her piercing gaze that sees my soul. The way she looked at me suspiciously, and the way she treated me is all hot and cold. It's giving me an eerie sensation. I clenched my hands in my lap.

"Sir, just take it easy." My driver told me with a faint smile. He must be sensing my discomfort, so I force myself to brighten up. I couldn't bring myself to be depressed.

"Yeah, can you speed up? I have to get to my office. I can't let that person wait."

I heard my driver sigh in dismay as he fasten up the car's speed.

Later on, we arrived at my building.

The driver stopped the car at the main entrance, and he take a deep breath.

"Sir, it may not be my business. But, I do hope that you won't regret your decision. Have a nice night ahead."

My heart suddenly stops beating as my driver speaks. I cleared my throat as I replied, "I won't because she's too innocent to know."

Quickly, I get out of the car and I signaled my driver to move out.

Before I could turn my face to the entrance door, I was welcomed by this daring, lavishing voice.

"Love, you're finally here! I miss you so much!"

Smirking in confidence, I replied. "Yeah, I'm all yours tonight."

She walks closer to me, and she wraps her hands on my neck. Then, she suddenly sucks on my neck.

"Hmm, ~~~ Let's get inside."

It looks like it's gonna be a long night. Well, the night is young.
