Chapter 2

Finally, Chad burst out in anger and snarled.

"Why? All these years, I've given her everything she wanted!"

"Now as she files for divorce, can't I see her even just once?"

"Hahaha!" Jojo laughed coldheartedly.

"Are you kidding me? You gave everything Ms. Sachs wanted? What else can you do besides delivering lunch?"

"I'll be honest with you. Justin Long of Bloomington just proposed to Ms. Sachs yesterday."

"See for yourself. This is the video I recorded yesterday!"

Chad froze as he stared deadly at the screen of the phone in front of him in rage.

In the video, a charming man was proposing to Matilda on one knee. Matilda’s parents and younger brother were there too!

Jojo looked at Chad, gloating, and rubbed salt in his wound.

"Mr. Long's grandfather is a minister in Kennington. The Long family has an extraordinary status."

"The Long family has power and Ms. Sachs is loaded with wealth. They're a perfect match! Didn't you say you can give her everything?"

"Is your family background that great?"

"You're just a loser who can't even protect your sister!"

Chad clenched his fists and growled, "Shut up! Don't you talk about my sister!"

Jojo was startled. She did not expect a loser to shout at her.

Out of anger, she snatched over the lunch box Chad held in his hand and sneered,

"I'm sorry to bring this up but only you have the cheek to deliver lunch for Ms. Sachs!

"You think you're being romantic, don't you? Tell you what, Ms. Sachs despises the lunch boxes you sent over!"

"Whenever you send lunch over, Ms. Sachs would tell me to throw it away!"

Thud!

Jojo smashed the lunch box onto the ground and the dishes prepared wholeheartedly by Chad splattered around!

'This loser has had Matilda to himself for three years. No matter what, he must sign the divorce agreement!'

Then, Jojo impatiently stuffed the bank card in Chad's hand and urged,

"Hurry and sign! Ms. Sachs said the 1.4 million dollars, together with the villa you're staying in now should be a good compensation for you."

Chad glanced at the food splattered on the ground. Without uttering a word, he gritted his teeth and held his pen.

Before he signed, he looked over at the Bentley Bentayga parked on the side of the road.

It was the car used by Matilda. He knew she was in there.

Looking at Chad's inaction, Jojo exhaled and urged,

"Quick! You can't afford to pay if you cause any delay!"

Those words stirred up Chad's anger, almost breaking the pen in his hand.

At that instance, Chad finally understood that what Matilda wanted was different from what he thought.

He even thought he could grow old with Matilda.

Now, Matilda would heartlessly divorce him for the Long family who was wealthy and powerful!

Chad felt like his sacrifices for all those years went to waste.

What he did for Matilda was far more than what she had now!

Unfortunately, all he got in return was a divorce!

Suddenly, the window of the Bentley slowly lowered, revealing Matilda's aloof and alluring beauty.

At that moment, Chad and Matilda locked eyes. They did not utter a word but it felt like much was spoken.

Chad saw discontent, disappointment, and determination in Matilda's eyes!

He knew Matilda genuinely wanted the divorce!

'She does want it.'

Chad never thought that after giving his all to fulfill Matilda's wishes, one day he would become a stumbling block to her.

It turned out that his sacrifices were in vain!

At that moment, Chad held the pen so tight that his fingers turned pale. He uttered,

"I promised that I'll give you anything you wish for. If this is what you want, then, I'll sign it!"
