“Mr Daud,” The voice that came out from behind him was covered with a layer of slight concern. But standing in front, the restless but still the someone who retained a charm that drew everyone towards him, did not move an inch. He stood there like a rock and was eagerly looking for someone around him.
The unknown man, who wore confusion as a facial expression, approached Christian and stood straight before continuing, “Mr Daud, you should be inside. Your parents and Mr Smith are waiting for you at the dining table.”
Christian turned to glance at the old man whose confusion was now no more masked on his face. He was normal, though he wanted to know why Christian was looking this worried. But he did not step ahead to ask about it, he stepped ahead to clear something else, “And sir, please consider it important. The man whom you pushed is now grumbling nonsense. He’s saying that you came to see someone important outside. Someone whom we don’t know.”
A bitter frown dominated his face as soon as he heard the old man. His brow cocked and his head slanted as he gave the old man a sharp glare because he understood the gesture he wanted to point out. His jaw was already clenched and fury was boiling inside him.
But in spite of all this, the old man standing in front of him boldly answered his sharp gaze. He knew that his master was angry, but the need to be silent may have been too heavy. He needed to complete himself if he did not want his master to get into trouble.
“And you would not want that because of that someone, there should be any harm to your reputation which is everything for all of us. Sir, such spicy talks spread like fire in a forest.”
Even after hearing this, Christian did not seem to pay any attention to this matter. He rolled her eyes because the truth and integrity he saw in the old man’s dim blue eyes worried him. Everything that came out of his experienced tongue was true. If people did not even know about the person for whom Christian had pushed someone while looking, those people could have made a mess of the small matter by making some dirty guesses.
“If you go inside and join your family, I promise that all these rumours will be erased from here as soon as you come out.” He assured with a blink. Christian nodded and moved to leave, without sparing a single glance at the old man who stared at him until he disappeared into the huge building. There was a slight glint of worry and unhappiness in his eyes. Seeing Christian, it was clear that he was lost in someone else’s thoughts. But knowing about such ups and downs in the life of a well-known person takes a lot of interest and then the public does not care if it is ruining someone’s life too. He needed to save his master from this.

As soon as he stepped into that beautiful and glowing environment, he attracted everyone’s eyes towards him. As if the radiance itself was coming, the aura seemed hotter than hell and the radiance seemed falling from heaven. His sharp gaze only held a few people sitting together at a table, chirping as they held a conversation which was not related to business at all.
Gabriella bit her bottom lip as she stared at him. Stared at him. And stared at him with her mouth agape. Her eyes were as if dreaming about something when they got a soft view of the most handsome man for her. She sighed and leaned her face in her palm, not letting her eyes leave him.
“Chris, you’re back!” His mother chirped, chocolate eyes holding a lot of admiration for her dear son.
“Where were you, Chris?” His father asked, frowning a bit. He saw his son moving towards his mother as he leaned down to hug her lightly and get a kiss on his cheek. It was his habit.
“Outside, dad. You know… I don’t like being among a lot of people!” He answered, his tone turning bitter when he eyed Gabriella’s father who smirked in reply.
“Hm, but you should know your presence was a must here!” Sanam — his father as if scolded him lightly but the lightness in his tone gave a hint that he was not angry at all. He could not be angry at such a special moment.
“I know, dad, and I’m sorry,” he sighed as he took a seat next to his mother and the other side was occupied by his fiancee — Gabriella. Sanam averted his gaze from his son because he looked tense and he knew he was tense because he did not want to marry Gabriella. But he was sure that even if it seemed hard to Christian, he was going to be okay with the passing of time.
Gabriella inhaled the mint and sandalwood fragrance that wrapped her beloved fiance. A mist of madness as if covered her senses and she found herself smiling lovingly when he sat beside her. Though that ruthless man did not pay any attention to that lovesick girl, she could feel his powerful intoxicating manly scent embracing her and she could feel it touching her.
“Well, I and your father were talking only about the main venue!” Gabriella’s father beamed with joy and Christian could not help but roll his eyes. Did he not get any topic other than marriage? He grumbled inside, looking away from the old cunning man.
“Yes! Why don’t we get married in Milan? I’d love to be there with you!”
He did not reply. The waiters came to the table and served them. That was a good distraction. Christian watched them serving because it seemed a better option than listening to the families talking about his marriage in which he was not interested at all.
“Yes, of course, the destination is very nice!” His mother also agreed.
“My lovely daughter is fond of European countries!”
“Oh hey! Everything without us, huh?” Abigail also joined her family, taking seats beside them after they greeted each other.
“How could we? Look, your tables are already arranged!” Gabriella giggled after she pulled herself away from the hug.
“Aww, my soon-to-be sister-in-law, I love you!” She laughed as the members around them admired their bond and Christian was the only one there who did not find curiosity there in between.
“But you didn’t delay at all. We were just discussing where to get married!”
“Oh! What are the options then?”
“Milan, mother-in-law said Santorini and father-in-law said Rajasthan!”
“Cool! But to be honest, all the choices are good!”
“Mamma, I’ll also go with you!”
That’s how the wedding discussion continued. In the beginning, every word was entering Christian’s ears, but as they progressed ahead of the talks, his ears diverted their attention from there.
He stopped hearing everything. Everyone was talking while eating and before eating, they also praised God, Christian also joined them, but as if his hunger was over after he was done saying grace. His throat was constricted and he did not feel hunger at all. Once again her thoughts started to settle in his mind and he started getting restless. Don’t know where she went, that was the only thought in his mind.
“Chris?” He blinked in realization and turned to look at the person. His mother stared at him and he stayed silent until she murmured, “What are you thinking about, my son?”
“Uh…” he looked around and none of them was staring at him, making him realize that his mother was the only one who noticed that he was not mentally present there. He sighed and looked back at his mother before mumbling, “Nothing, mom. I’m just worried.”
She smiled sweetly. “It’s okay, dear. You’re going to be a wonderful husband and then a father! Don’t worry too much!” She patted his shoulder and then his cheek. “Now, please eat? I don’t want you to go to bed empty stomach,” she whispered sweetly and he nodded, doing what his mother said.

After having dinner, he went to a higher floor of the hotel and stood near the railing of the terrace side. Being away from his family was never his habit, but today his restlessness had left him nowhere. He was longing to see her face just once.
Did she reach home safely? But how did she come here? He had not called her. He wanted to keep her away from all this because she was really aloof from them all — his family, Gabriella’s family, his business team, his environment, every fucking thing!
While on the one hand, his own family used to push him towards never-ending sorrow and regret, on the other hand, she used to push him into a nap of peace. Being close to her was like a gust of sweet breeze. She is his sunshine. Light of his life.
He sucked in the intoxicating substance and then let the smoke leave his mouth as he parted his lips, facing the dark sky, his eyes closed, imagining her pretty face with that charming smile.
But today he could not see that smile on her lips and those sparkles in her eyes. She looked very sad today. Don’t know why, but until he would see her, he was not going to find peace.
If he could not get out of there, he could at least call Rebecca and ask her about Hazel.
Has she eaten yet or not? Is she in good health? When did she reach home? Has she slept yet or not? Many such questions were running through his mind. He needed to calm down otherwise.
He shook his head lightly and held the cigarette between his fingers. He blew the smoke before he pulled out his mobile and dialled Marcus’ number. It rang for a long time but he did not answer. He then tried on Rebecca’s, but before he could hear the ring, a touch was felt on his shoulder which made him halt and put the mobile back into the pocket of his trousers.
He slightly turned to look at the person and found Gabriella.
He frowned, asking, “What are you doing here?” in his bitter tone which showed that he did not want to get disturbed by anyone at that time.
She smiled, her glossy lips spreading but he did not seem to notice them. Only she knew how deeply and badly she wanted him to notice her because everything she did was for him. Only for him. She just wanted him to look at her. Just one glance. And for that, she was even ready to sacrifice her life.
“Um… aren’t you alone? Wanted someone’s appearance near you?” She asked, nervous because he could deny it easily — he had done it multiple times.
She gulped slightly when he narrowed his eyes at her. Her hand did not give up on his shoulder. Shoulders that she yearned to touch, and hold whenever he was with her in a bed, pounding into her mercilessly.
“And why would I need that?” He muttered, stepping back. She could see that he still did not get used to her touch. He still despised it. That sole thing saddened her for a moment but there was anger burning inside her more than sadness. She could not stand him going away from her.
“Listen, Gabby, fucking leave me alone!” He gritted out, blinking as he delivered those words. Seeing this, she could also guess that he, too, was trying to calm his anger.
“You have gained nothing by doing all this — especially me! Don’t follow me everywhere! I’m tired of bearing this shit!”
Her jaw clenched and her fists tightened. Her chest heaved up as she took a deep breath before yelling, “Leave you? Are you fucking insane? That’s impossible, Chris! I’ve loved you like crazy! I’m insane for you, can’t you see?”
Just like her, now even Christian’s anger knocked on his head but he did not want to do something wrong to her. He has stopped himself so far that he should not beat any woman badly in anger, and he would try the same thing in future also.
“Stop yelling, Gabby!”
“And why would I do that, huh? You have to listen to me!”
“Hearing your voice, someone else may also come here,” he said and finally turned his body as well. He put the cigarette between his lips and sucked it in before blowing the smoke. The bitter ash-like odour spread around once again which did not bother her at all.
She scoffed and held his face to turn it to face her. She held the cigarette between her fingers before taking it away and firing, “I don’t care about others, got it? Few people come or the whole fucking world, I won’t stop calling you mine in front of anyone!”
She put the cigarette between her lips and drew the harmful smoke, closing her eyes and then discarding it.
He watched her doing so, lava eyes glaring down at her as if drilling holes. His burning eyes were narrowed and only a few words escaped his throat, “You’re crazy!”
“Only for you, Chris! You have made me so crazy for you that I am ready to cross every limit to get you. I can die for you!” She smoked once again and then threw the cigarette away. She crushed it under her shoe while looking at him as she continued, “I have absorbed you in such a way that I am nothing in myself. Agar tumhe kho diya to mera wajood hi mit jayega!”
He could see the madness in her eyes. There was no peace in her, but the passion to destroy everything was riding on her. She indeed looked crazy. So crazy that she could even kill someone for him. But still, Christian could not care less. He stubbornly looked away and she chuckled humorlessly.
“So now, keep this thing in your smart head and be ready for our destination wedding, dear soon-to-be husband!” She leaned in to kiss his cheek and then patted it before leaving.
With that frustration, he watched her leave from the huge corridor, mumbling a song which could reach him in that pin-drop silence.
“Got me lookin’ so crazy right now, your love’s got me lookin’ so crazy right now…”
Sitting on a settee, her whole attention was taken by the work in her hands. Her knees were bent and there laid a thick fabric on which she was sewing a golden lace. Her thin brows were corrugated and her movements were careful. And Eliseva was watching her keenly. “Hazel?” She asked, making her halt right there. She put the needle aside and looked at her, mumbling, “What, Eliseva?” Still, the stubborn girl is never ready to call her by her nickname. Eliseva could not help but scoff mentally. “Do you want to come tonight?” She asked, raising her brows. She glanced down at the girl on her feet who stopped and switched to her second feet to apply the nail polish. “Eliseva, it’s not like you’ll leave me alone if I asked you to do so,” she answered, her voice coming polite but her words so sharp that Eliseva winced. She tsked and shook her head. “Tonight I can listen to you.” She shrugged, leaving the girl surprised. How easy was that, was it not? But why Eliseva had this meharban on
A faint sound met her ears that caught her attention. She hurriedly looked in that direction, turning down the volume of the television. She saw Iqrar moving in and then pushing the door close. “How was your day?” she asked while she stretched back her legs which were laid before her on another couch. Her grey eyes scanned him down as he looked tired. “It was good,” he answered her. He moved in her direction and sat next to her. His arm lay on the headrest of the couch and his legs spread wide as he sat in that alpha position. He smirked down at her when she smiled softly at him. Their eyes locked and she could see how dark his eyes were. Every time she looked into his eyes, she found them usually dark. Though the colour was already dark, his dilated pupils made it darker and even hotter. The look in them always made her nervous and she still wondered what was so special about her that made him look at her like that. “And the case?” She looked away and held the jug to fill a glass
A terrible sound of breaking things jolted everybody around. The man in his study room — as he was having a meeting with some of his partners, flinched in his spot. He grabbed the edge of the table and a sigh escaped him. He looked up at the members and gave them an apologetic smile, uttering, “I shall go out and check. Excuse me.” He got up as all of them just nodded. He left the room, his body posture a bit nervous but then, he squared his shoulders and walked ahead until he spotted the scattered pieces of an antique vase lying near a table, placed against the white wall. He sighed when he found a red stiletto heel lying with the pieces and then, his restless gaze immediately turned to look at the stairs. There he spotted his everything — his loving daughter, marching up to her room, stomping her feet against the floor. There was one sandal on her foot while the other was bare. She was having difficulty but she was so stubborn that she did not even care about her discomfort. She
“And then I dashed out!” Both of them burst into laughter when Iqrar completed his story. They flopped on the bed and laid down together, still laughing while holding their stomachs. “You… You were so naughty in your childhood!” She turned to look at him and he chuckled. She smiled when she heard that deep laughter. It was as if dipped in gold. It sounded so rich and mesmerizing that she could not help but succumb to it. Even his laughter was sexy. “I still am,” he smiled as he stopped laughing and looked back at her. The smile she had was soft. He loved it. Loved it so much that he could not help but caress her cheek lovingly, making her sigh in relief. “I see,” she mumbled and saw his pupils dilating. The darkness in his eyes increased and she knew the meaning. Though it always irked her with other men, she could not help but find it beautiful with Iqrar. This man was something else. Something so addictive. Her favourite. And as if magnetized by the depth in his eyes, the sinful
“Chris, are you going somewhere?” Heer asked as she saw her son dressed in an ironed suit. He looked so charming like always. He had gotten those looks from his father. She smiled a bit, but she was upset seeing her son in that office attire. “Um… yes, mom,” he said as he covered the distance between them and kissed her temple before he sat in his usual place, turning the dish. “Just a small meeting,” he added, not glancing up at his mother who started serving him and his father. Sanam watched Christian from that distance, eyes slightly narrowed. “That’s unexpected, son, and kind of displeasing.” Suddenly work was displeasing for him because he cared about Heer’s feelings. She was here only for her son. Not a second without him she desired to spend. She just wanted to see him fine every time. “Dad, it won’t take even an hour, I promise.” He shrugged. Heer sighed, sitting next to her husband. Sanam gave her a glance, noticing her lips lightly pressed against each other. “Mom, you k
And on the other hand, when Christian reached his penthouse and did not find Hazel there, he became mad. He asked everyone who was worth asking questions, and when he finally talked to Rebecca, he learned that Hazel had gone back. Back to that brothel. And who sent her there, he wanted to know. But Rebecca did not know about this. She only told him that Hazel had gone out crying after seeing both of them together and that Gabriella had invited her there. Gabriella — he could have guessed it but what hurt him more, was that he wanted to believe that father and daughter for one more time so he could think of forgiving them but they lost the chance. Blind by jealousy, she invited Hazel there and perhaps she was the only one who arranged everything to send her from there. After knowing this, he stopped asking questions Rebecca and now his only destination was India. ~♪“Iqrar…” she called his name longingly as she knocked on the door of his study room. A faint permission was heard
“Dad, I’m leaving for India.” Upon hearing Christian, Sanam frowned as the thought sounded unpleasant. His brows corrugated and he looked at his son with those pair of amber orbs. Heer, who was sitting on a couch, playing with Aurora could not help but look at her son, not understanding why he made the decision all of a sudden. As per what Sanam told her, she knew the matters related to work were being taken care of by their incredible managers. Then what was lacking, she wondered. “For what?” He asked. “A very important matter came up. I need to leave, and I’m willing to leave this evening.” Sanam’s eyes narrowed. He looked at Heer who nodded. She held Aurora’s hand and got up, muttering something into her ear to which she agreed excitedly and made her way out with her grandmother. Once the ladies left, Sanam said, “I know the exact reason, son. I know it’s not related to work.” Christian swallowed. Nervousness knocked on his brain but he was well-trained in the matters of con
That night Hazel did not think that another visitor would come to meet her. She was sliding the curtains close in her room to go to sleep when Eliseva’s messenger Mahru came to tell her that a customer had come for her tonight. As soon as she heard this, her blood ran cold due to fear. She clutched the fabric of curtains which was in her hands in anticipation because she did not know how to escape from this new man. Mahru left her room and Hazel sat on her bed, lost in fear. She began to fidget with the corner of her white-coloured kameez between her fingers, not knowing if even a per cent of her restlessness would cease by doing it. The door of her room opened and she jolted up from her place. Her widened eyes stared at the man who stood before her. His eyes were bloodshot red, and it terrified her more than she already was. He was long and intimidating. His bloody hazel eyes stared at her maliciously like he was going to tear her limbs apart. He took a step in her direction and
“Love,” he called her lovingly. He bent slightly and hugged her from behind, wrapping his arms around her shoulders. Her body found relaxation in his arms but she chooses not to answer him. She was upset with him. She could not forget that. Christian sighed after he did not get her response. She stared at the view outside her room through the window and it was raining outside. Trees outside were greener than before and the smell of wet soil and leaves mixed together reached them.Hazel loved rain but she could not go out and enjoy that because she was seven months pregnant. Autumn has started and the weather always turned colder than usual whenever it rained. Even the greenery outside was fading away because of the season but who could make a heart understand? She still desired to enjoy it and Christian was stopping her. He could not leave her out like that. “Haze,” he said. She still did not answer him and hugged herself inside the blanket that was wrapped around her body. She was
“Is he asleep?” Hazel whispered in Adam’s ear from behind as she bent slightly. Her hands held a tray on which there was a vanilla cake. It was layered with grape jelly and strawberries and blueberries. It was made by Hazel and Adam. Only because Adam was fond of cooking at a young age, he wanted to help Hazel and ended up decorating it with her from the bottom of his heart. The word ‘PAPA’ on the surface of the cake was written by Adam. It looked like the words had paralysis yet Hazel admired it. Or else everything was done by Hazel. The flavours they added were Christian’s favourite. Especially vanilla. They knew about that. Not much time had passed since they had returned from their honeymoon. They had returned from Japan two days ago because Hazel remembered his birthday and wanted to celebrate the day with their son. Even though Christian forgot about it like he used to forget every year, Hazel remembered. Sanam and Heer were not at home. Had gone out for some important work
“You’re looking beautiful; so beautiful that I can barely look away from you, Haze,” Christian said while coming behind his wife. She held his hand and was walking towards their suite. Her henna-cladded hand was barely covering his but her grip was firm because her husband was tipsy. He drank a bit at his friend’s wife’s birthday party and they were coming back now. His eyes roamed her back from behind. Her brunette hair was tied in a bun, decorated with red roses that matched her red banarasi saree, red bangles, her bright red painted lips — her whole self. Her blouse was not very backless but still, the beauty spot on her back could not escape his gaze through the knots. The sleeves of her blouse reached above her elbows. She looked beautiful as he said and everything in her was his choice. Even the saree she wore was draped by him. “You said that I don’t know how many times,” she said while her lips stretched into a smile. He watched how her plump fleshy bright red lips stretched
Holding hands, they walked together. The path before them was almost not very crowded with humans but with cherry blossom leaves. There were two or three couples, too. Just like them, they too were walking slowly, holding hands, enjoying the moment of romance that turned everything pink. The weather was showering love. Showering pink, showering petals. There were only trees on either side of the road which were presenting absolutely pink environment. Pink petals showered by gentle breezes were floating on the ground, on their shoulders and head. The opened blue sky and those pink trees were creating a unique combination. That scene was appealing and filled the mind with peace. It was neither too cold nor too hot. In Japan, the months of March and April were no less than paradise, and they both came on their honeymoon in March. As Christian had planned, he chose Japan as their honeymoon destination simply because he wanted to make love to Hazel in that paradise-like environment. Lots
“I just called them,” said Hazel over the phone which was pressed against her ear. Her grip was soft while her other hand was holding the steering wheel. She turned it, entering her house through the large main gates. The guards on either side of the gate bowed respectfully as Hazel drove the car inside. She nodded at them, the sight of her face visible to them through the rolled-down windows of her car. She drove it ahead, still listening to the person over her phone. "Of course.” She smiled brightly. “He’s giving him full attention,” she added and parked the car. She listened to the person while turning the engine off and coming out of the car. She picked up the bags from the back seat. Chirping, sparrows flew above her head to another tree planted in their lawn. It was the beginning of March. Spring was coming. Finally, winters were over. Hazel loved that season. From the bottom of her heart. Spring brought life back to nature. Trees were green once again, butterflies and birds
The ceremony function was over. And it was indeed amazing for them but tiring. It exhausted them, especially Hazel. The whole palace was decorated in such a luxurious way as if a king was about to depart from it to bring his queen. The whole palace was decorated like a bride. The entire palace was covered from top to bottom with garlands of flowers and bulbs. The sweet fragrance of flowers enveloped the entire area as if it was actually in a garden. And the whole place was lit up with light as if it was actually falling from above. In the shadow of the stars, under the glare of the moonlight, they were admired by everybody like a match made in heaven. Hazel was dressed in a royal Rajasthani outfit as per Abigail’s choice. Her lehenga was very layered and was of golden colour. Red sequined chunar with a wide border on her head and jewellery to ornaments which were not very heavy to wear but the price used to scream like the stars in the sky. Even Adam told her she looked like a quee
The ladies who gathered, sitting around Hazel were all happy, chirping and doing their things, laughing upon seeing the men dragging Christian with them. The pleasant sound of their laughter boomed but Hazel giggled softly when she saw how Christian’s face was scrunched and he was writhing like a small kid among his friends —Izhar, Kevin, Adnan and Abel. “I don’t want to do that, mom, why don’t you understand?” He uttered, releasing his arms from their grips as that was the sole way they could drag Christian back to the ladies as he ran away right after he got to know that they wanted to apply some henna paste on his palm and he did not like its smell. “But it’s important, son,” said Heer, who sat beside Hazel and gave her a flying kiss when she saw her all dolled up. She found her way too beautiful in that green traditional mirror-work dress. Her hair was tied into a loosened French braid and it was decorated with white shiny beads. Her make-up was nude. The green coloured lehenga
Hazel’s closed eyes were greeted by the sweet morning sunlight coming through the glass of the huge window set in the wall next to their bed. Those red coloured curtains hanging from the wall of the window were not completely closed. They have opened ajar, letting the pleasant sunlight peek into the spacious royal room. Her eyelids flickered and her eyebrows corrugated a bit. Soon the melodious chirping of the sparrows outside met her ears and she opened her eyes slowly but they immediately fell shut when they were attacked by the sunlight. She sighed and raised her hand to save her eyes by shielding them from her palm. She yawned a bit and turned to look at Christian beside her. She smiled instantly when she found him next to him. He was still asleep. His eyes were closed, and his thick eyelashes allured her. Like always in middays, he had a frown on his face but it was not present now. It was always absent when he was with Adam or her or he was sleeping next to her — his peace.
“Chris!” She called his name as she opened the door while carefully holding the baby girl in her arms. She closed the door behind her and suddenly silence engulfed her as the members downstairs were having an important conversation. Christian’s attention was already dragged by her soft call as he was watching her move to him with the baby. The girl was wrapped up in a soft quilt but woke up as her big brown eyes watched everything. “You didn’t meet our little angel, right?” She said, sitting in front of him but folding her right leg on the bed. The white silky mattress dipped underneath her, and the light yellow cotton chikankari designed fabric of her plazo shone brightly under the warm glow of their room. The small glasses at the border of her dress enhanced its gleam. He put away his laptop and gave his full attention to his wife and the baby in her arms. “Adnan’s daughter?” He asked, looking down at the girl who looked back at him with her big brown eyes. “Yeah,” she said, ho
