Nicole was still reeling from the news Angela had just told her but she had to brace herself for more as he was about to inform her about how he was killed.
"Charles told me yesterday, he heard from his source that he died some days ago in a battle which he fought alongside the vampire hierarchy", Angela revealed.
"Battle?", Nicole asked, puzzled.
"Were Dracula and the vampire hierarchy still fighting battles like they did in the medieval times?", she thought to herself. She thought they were more refined now, more diplomatic in resolving their modern day conflicts. To hear he died in battle was really shocking, something a lot of vampires who were not a part of the hierarchy thought it was in the past.
Nicole was surprised that Charles believed the trio of Lucas, Mark and Andrew could take on Lord Dracula and thousands of original vampires and win.It was a big revelation, one she had never considered before. She had feared that if the identities of Lucas and his brothers were revealed as the vampire hybrids they would easily be killed by hundreds of vampires, hence she vowed to keep it secret but she was wrong. It seemed they were invincible!"Okay", she said finally, accepting what he said could be true but she was going to speak with Lucas first before concluding on the matter. She needed to hear his own side of the story too."So you finally accept they hybrids were responsible for Sir Paul's death?", Charles asked to be sure. Angela also listened to hear her response.
It was now running late into the night in Charles' apartment and Nicole was ready to go to bed. She was not going to return back to her apartment this late in the night; rather , she was going to sleep over at Charles' apartment. They had spoken enough tonight and it was now time for her to bid them goodnight."I have to sleep now you too", Nicole said as he observed them still cuddled up and talking."I hope I didn't make you bored?", Angela asked sincerely. She hadn't been paying too much attention to Nicole. Charles was distracting her with his show of affection."No it's fine. You need to keep him company, he needs it especially now", Nicole said.
Nicole woke up suddenly from her sleep. It was only a dream."It was only a nightmare", she whispered to herself, as she sat up in bed but it seemed very real. She listened from the guest room to know she disturbed the sleep of the others but she heard no sound."Good, they are still sound at sleep", she said. She was glad it was just a dream but it was a shocking dream to her."I could never do what I did in my dream, could I?", she asked herself, deeply troubled."If I was to choose between my love for Lucas and Angela, who would I pick?", she asked herself. That was essentially the choice she had to make in the dream and she chose Lucas over her be
"Was it about last night, I thought last night was beautiful?", he asked trying to figure out why she looked so upset and completely different from the girl he took on a romantic date just some hours ago."No, it's not about last night!", she said in a loud tone trying to regain her composure. She didn't want to think about last night."Last night was beautiful", she whispered under her breath. So quiet she knew Lucas wouldn't hear her clearly."I came here to talk about you Lucas", she said annoyed at him."About me?", he asked, surprised."Yes you, Lucas!""And don't try play dumb w
Nicole got back into her car and felt a little relieved she had summoned the courage to tell Lucas the truth about himself after the shocking revelation he had just told her. He had killed over 8,000 vampires in the space of some few weeks he had known her, while she had killed zero people all her life, since she was given birth to as a vampire. She didn't want to fully think of all the implications her action would cause her later, as she started the car and slowly drove off into the empty street. She was going to drive home. Her adrenaline levels were still high as she was still breathing fast from the experience she just had and was trying to steady her breath as she drove. It took her a while to get it under control with deep repeated breaths.&
Inside the apartment Angela led Nicole to her seat. She let him relax before talking to her."I would have come looking for you at Lucas' place if I knew his address", she said truthfully. She only knew he lived in the central part of the city, the most rich and affluent area in the state but that was all she knew."Was that where you went to so early in the morning?", she asked. She had her suspicions already. She knew from last night, Nicole and Lucas were out on a romantic date together and they truly enjoyed themselves and each other's company."Maybe she just missed in the early morning and wanted to see him", she thought to herself as she waited for Nicole's answer to her question."Yes you
Lucas was back inside his apartment where he saw his brothers standing who had overheard his conversation with Nicole. It was not really a conversation but more of an argument. At first they didn't know what to say to Lucas as he walked in. He had an angry look on his face. He sounded all relaxed in front of Nicole but now she was gone it appears the monster in him was taking over."What are you looking at?!", he said angrily, walking past them."I overheard everything. Your girlfriend was quite loud, it was difficult not to hear your conversation", Mark said."You still referred to Nicole as my girlfriend?"he asked, surprised. His anger seemed to die down a little.
"So what are we to do?", Mark asked concerned. The truth of being exposed was real but this one was much more urgent."I am still thinking about a way out of this", Lucas said. The problem just occurred to him some few seconds ago and so he didn't have an answer ready yet."Lucas, I see you are conflicted for now by your desire not to feed on vampires anymore", Andrew said.He was right, the answer Lucas was seeking to the problem would have been simple if feeding on vampires was an option."You are right", Lucas said. It was a fact he could not deny or sleep under the carpet."I wished I have a simple choice to make in this matter",
