LAURA'S POV.
“Why on earth would you say such a thing about your sister?" My supposed new father had asked, and I fiddled with the hem of my dress, failing to match the criticizing gaze of my mother, who was absolutely not pleased with the recent turn of events. “Please tell me, what is it I lied about? Will you ask Leek Moss' step sister over here?” Sebastian teased again, leaning closer to my table. He pulled out his chair hastily and sat on it, facing me while I swallowed a lump in my throat. Uneasiness washed through me, and I was not too certain what to think or how to handle it. “Stop this nonsense this instant; Laura is your sister; you will treat her like one rather than pin all sorts of tales on her, " the father retorted, swallowing hard. “No, how about we let Laura speak? I do know I raised her right, but Sebastian's hair has a reason why he stated that he did.” She asked again, narrowing her gaze down to me. I sighed, panting heavily. I didn't want to be screwed over, and of course I was pissed as hell, yet his devilish grin on that strikingly handsome face was melting me down like wax. “Laura? What do you have to say?” mother asked again, drawing my attention back towards her. I sighed before pinning my gaze back to her. My heart was thudding at a very insane pace; it would kill me to make such a ghastly mistake, as I just could not afford to. I felt heat rise to my cheeks, my lips cracked and paled. I wasn't the type to lie; I was mostly to hide things, and now everyone's gaze fell against mine. “He must be mistaken. I don't know what he had seen or heard, but it's fine; I forgive him. “I lied; my throat ran dry while I averted my gaze around the entire hall. “oh, really? I'm what I am now! Am I a liar? She does drugs, with all due respects , except for your mom, you think I want a drug used, an addict to be my sister?” “Enough! '' Dad yelled, banging his fists against the table. His voice had called a loud echo, and the maid who had approached you with a tray in her had turned stuff on the spot. “Excuse us, Marie,” mom added faintly. “The problem here is that she will be your sister, and well, of course, I know you are full of selfishness and mischief, and I had let you go on saying and doing things as you wish, but blasphemy about your stepmother. I would never let that happen.” I added, I'm drawing on my breath. A cold chill ran down my spine, yet I knew better; I was ready to make him look like a liar. “It's okay, dad; I would not have heard the same; I'm new, and the change was so sudden,“ I added in. I watched my mother pass me a pleased and reassuring smile. “You know what? I just lost my appetite; you all can as well go to hell.” He snapped and heard towards the stairs. “That boy will not be the death of me.” His father, before pulling back his cutlery, I could still feel my mother's questioning gaze on mine. The rest of dinner was held in silence; the food tasted sour against my lips; there's a whole lot that worked up that's never in me; yet more than that, I couldn't find myself narrowed into a situation like that. “Thanks',' I whispered before pulling myself off the table. “Goodnight child.” His father greeted me as being more like Sebastian. I wondered if he got the genes from his mother; obviously, he was just as handsome as his father, but why on earth would he do that to me? And more importantly, how did he know?. I stopped on my way; however, my eyes narrowed down to the corridor. I could hear faint whispers coming from it; someone was out. Curious at what he was doing, I took slow steps towards him, walking up the stairs until I got to the balcony. I swallowed the shed, seeing that our gazes matched almost immediately. “What? Now you're a stoner? A liar and a creep?” Sebastian asked, pushing closer to me, and I took steps away from him. “I'm sorry, I heard someone and thought I might check it out. I'll just head back to my room.” I stuttered. I turned on my feet, but his hands pulled towards me almost immediately, pressing our chests against each other. He was shirtless, a bit taller than I was, and like a fool, I had lost my balance and rammed my face directly into his breath, my eyes against his nipples. I could hear my heart beat at a fast pace through my ears, my eyes pinned on How. “I'm sorry, but... but why?” I asked, pulling away from him. He tucked his fingers into my hair, pulling me even closer to him while I turned stiff, surprised by the sudden and unexpected turn of events. “Aren't you way too beautiful to be my sister?” He asked again, this time bending closest to me, his lips merely inches away from my ear. "Well, sister, here is the thing: I do not want the likes of a liar as a sister, and I will make sure I do everything I can in my power to make sure you return to the hell hole you crawled out of. I do not want a sister and absolutely no cheap gutter kid like you, so whatever dreams you have of a happy family with us, it won't work. I'll make sure that even with my last dying breath it won't work, I promise you, now get out!” he snapped. I shuddered from fright upon hearing his words and took to my feet, heading down to my room. I slammed the door before bolting it closed, my heart racing in my chest while sweat trickled down my temples.LAURA'S POINT OF VIEW.Thank you so much for a warm welcome.I sat by the table, beneath their pinning gazes, with Sebastian directly opposite me, father at the head of the table, and a woman who certainly hated my guts sitting south of the table.Supposedly she was meant to be the step mother I should know about.Mother had spoken to me before bed. Reminded me that I was to meet with the previous wide this morning, I expected s lot from hee but Jo doubt she hated me, I didn't like her either,At least that was something we both understood at the point. Each one of them stared at me and exchanged glances continuously. Although I couldn't lie, I stole several glances at the father himself, one of the greatest alpha assesses out of the blue, my father. I always admired him. For his ruthlessness and, of course, how firm he was in his words. He had worked so hard to gauge himself's name that no one dared defy or disobey. I !Made some research about him overnight and he happened to be
LAURA'S POV.I pushed my orbs open, a light yawn based through my lips. I fluttered my eyes, turning my gaze around, unable to understand where I was or how I had gotten there. I swallowed hard, rolling around in bed. and then I recalled it: I was no longer the usual poker hopeless and helpless Laura. My mother has remarried. I was longer in our little house; I now lived in a mansion. The curtains pushed open as a blinding ray of light shot at me, deeply groaning inwardly at the sudden situation of things. This wasn't how I planned it all out.I pulled the covers up from my head,"Mother, you can't keep doing this; I'm all grown now.” I complained, but then stopped in my words. I gasped from surprise, only for my eyes to match with Sebastian's scrutinizing gaze; he wasn't pleased, yet more than that heat flushed through my cheeks, feeling really embarrassed. I swallowed hard, not caring to speak out of line.“I'm sorry, I had no idea.”“That it wasn't mommy?” he asked, sarcasm laced
LAURA'S POV."Well, don't you just stand there and gawk shamelessly? You are late, and good riddance if you think I'll pull some special strings just to make sure you get into school.” sebastain explained.I could see the frown he had; he wasn't pleased, and neither was I to him, who only arched me, his eyes filled with amazement while I hopped in the car.“And you go on, get out, be back late tonight. Laura will get home earlier than I would, so I suggest by every means that you both find a coup to cover up or something,” he explained. The more he spoke, the more I realized how much of a cry baby he really was. I was amazed, truth be told, and taken by surprise, but it was not that I had not expected Sebastian to be so acoustic. The last I had seen was Chris passing me a faint smile right before Sebastian slammed the door to the car with every form of gruff and snogging attitude he had to offer.“Driver, please don't be late; let's push up the ride a bit. Our little sister here does
LAURA'S POVA knot tied in my belly on hearing his words, I couldn't help avert my gaze over to him, and then back to that of the building.“You own the school?” I asked again, uncertain if this was one of his plain ass jokes heavy on sarcasm or if he was just wealthy.“You forget how rich I am, sister; you'll get used to it. My father bought most of the shares for Me when I was just nineteen, and I bought the entire shares when I was twenty. I own the school, although only a few important people know about this.” He explained dropping the bombshell on me.I watched as he peered his gaze into the wristwatch strapped to his left wrist before raising his eyebrow.“Well, shall we? I have ten more minutes to get on the road. I've got a busy schedule today.” He asked me. Already sticking to his feet while speaking, not once did he glance back to check my reaction or whatever words it was that I had to say.“Speaking of which, what's your type of car, like the ones that strike your fancy?”
LAURA'S POV.The rest of the day ended more quickly than I had expected. I spent the entire day moving from class to class, checking through the halls, corridors, and different clubs, not knowing which to sign into.Yet the more I thought about it, the more I couldn't stop thinking of what had truly happened.Everyone wouldn't keep their gaze on me; they stated at me like I was some sort of cheap loser, and well, of course, it was mostly certain because they believed my mom to be nothing but a gold digger, and here I was, the shameless one without having anything to offer, do, or take other than attending the school my elder brother had been using to buy off and tease me about it.“Mam?” A voice called out, drawing me out of whatever thoughts I had that had been cooped up on my end. I sighed and rolled my eyes while sudden uneasiness washed through me.I swallowed hard before turning around, but no one seemed to be in the area other than me.“Are you talking to me?” I asked, and my in
Sebastian ’s point of view.I had not seen Chris at home, he probably went out and about, moving again when I had given him clear instructions to return home.“Where is Chris?” I asked a maid who was passing by.“He went out, said it was urgent.” The maid responded while I rolled my eyes, well of course it was always one thing or another with Chris, counting on him was as good as killing oneself.“And laura?” I asked to loosen the end of my tie.“She's up in her room, she has refused to come down for dinner and I think she is not doing so well.” The maid explained again, I nodded and gestured that she could leave.I had seen her new car in the driveway, she had been done with her classes for the day, but if anything at all I had expected that she would be full of energy rather than staying cooped up full of tears. .Slowly I placed gentle knocks on her door, I could hear entitled cries and sobs but she wasn't moving an inch either.Several other knocks and I pushed open the door only
NICKLOAI’s POINT OF VIEW.I was way too stunned to speak; my eyes remained glued against hers and for the first time in my entire life, I hesitated. It was a first for me. I was at a loss for words, uncertain of what to eat or think.I didn't know if this was the effect Laura had on me or the fact that I immediately became protective of Violet. I had an undeniable bond shared with Violet; I was in love with her, but she belonged to another, which meant I couldn't let her get into danger all because of me. And then it came down to Laura . I had been taught by my father to lie on the spot as quickly as I could; I had bravely been caught lying or cutting shots of words. This was one of the first lessons I took as a young master.“I'll take this your silence as you admit it. Do you have any idea what it is that you have done? She is the wife to your father's business partner, i may be new here but i had seen the man to dad and they were both visiting him, could you? She asked sternly i
LAURAS POV.I checked for the time twice in a row, yet nothing. I had been waiting for Helen for ages, she had asked to get my shoes since it's been twelve minutes past already."Well, you most certainly seem so excited about this ball of yours and stuff.” Out of the blue”Sebastian's voice rang through the air.I turned to see him leaning against the door, arms folded over his chest.“Oh, please go on; do not let me interrupt this charade; it is her you have going on.” He added pure sarcasm in his words. I stared at him blankly, moving my gaze towards him and away from him. At the same time, it did seem like he didn't quite understand the dire situation we were in at the moment. “What do you want, Sebastian?I think the orders are clear; there will be a party in about an hour and you aren't dressed yet.” I asked, tilting my head a bit, uncertain of how the entire royalty thing worked out. Was I dressed way too early? Perhaps it was my driven mind, determined to hunt down seraphin
