LAURA'S POINT OF VIEW.
Thank you so much for a warm welcome. I sat by the table, beneath their pinning gazes, with Sebastian directly opposite me, father at the head of the table, and a woman who certainly hated my guts sitting south of the table. Supposedly she was meant to be the step mother I should know about. Mother had spoken to me before bed. Reminded me that I was to meet with the previous wide this morning, I expected s lot from hee but Jo doubt she hated me, I didn't like her either, At least that was something we both understood at the point. Each one of them stared at me and exchanged glances continuously. Although I couldn't lie, I stole several glances at the father himself, one of the greatest alpha assesses out of the blue, my father. I always admired him. For his ruthlessness and, of course, how firm he was in his words. He had worked so hard to gauge himself's name that no one dared defy or disobey. I !Made some research about him overnight and he happened to be one of the most succeeding multi billionaire companies, he sold anything gadgets, from phones to vending machines, to bulbs to even electric bikes and cars. He was wealthy. “Welcome !” He finally spoke, his voice low and cold so much that chills ran down my spine. “Sebastian !” He called out, raised his gaze to match his father's, and was less quick to avert it. "Yes, father,“ he responded. “You will train your sister in our ways of the family. She will take part in the meeting, the final stage of shareholders to fight for the company shares, as well as the position to the CEO , but most of all, she needs to know the basics.” Father ordered out of the blue, taking everyone by surprise. “But she's just a female.” “Silence!” He ordered, his voice ringing and echoing all through the dining hall, which was way bigger than necessary. “You will not teach me what is and what is not; that is what I want, and I'll check her moves in two weeks; she had better be good enough by then; see he'd to her room once you both are down eating,“ father added in. He said nothing else and stood to his feet. The middle-aged woman had done the same, sure to have a scornful gaze passed to me. “Will you talk to your father, please?” Sebastian asked, his voice wafting up while he held the women's hands. She placed a kiss into his hair and then onto his temples. “Your feather wouldn't date; I'll be dead before I let him out some rotten child on the seat of the ceo, he just wants you to this; you have competition, son, that's all; after all, you're my child; you will always will be and she'll end up just like her mother, your father and I may be divorced but he knows better than losing me .” The woman retorted, half of her words directed at Sebastian , and the other hand passed down to me in the most sassy, snarky, and sarcastic manner. I scoffed watching as she made her sys last me while I directly entered the doors, amused at how quick Sebastian had switched up. He was acting all tough, cold, and harsh when it was me, and manly with his father; by down with his mother, he was a total softie. “Don't you dare get a funny idea,” he complained. Anger laced into his words while I took a sip out of the wine glass. “What ideas? I'm only thinking the cook could have come down on the” I teased getting under his skin on purpose. “You think I'm a fool? I'm no imbecile sister, and for some reason you think Father would make you the CEO. Not in your wildest dreams will that come true.” I complained again. Yet hearing him speak in such a way made it seem like he was in a dire haste to convince himself rather than me; who could blame me? Truth be told, I wanted the opportunity just as much as he wanted it. “I said stop!” He retorted, banging his fists against the table. “Stop shat?” I asked, frighteningly ignorant. “That look in you, yes... It's way too ambitious; I've seen that gaze blurted. And it'd be greedy even for you; I'm the billionaire's son ; I'm next in line, so get up and let's go!” He retorted, and I stuck in the last piece of beef right through my lips before standing to my feet. “The issue here is. We both know the truth; if I wasn't a threat to you, then you would not bother about me. Whatever it is you keep denying to yourself, hold it and that, but you heard the king, I am to take part in the meeting and share holdings ust as you will. So will you keep yapping or take me to my room? I do not think Father would be pleased to see you defying his orders.” I blurted out, He grabbed me by the arm and pulled me closer to himself while my face stood inches away from him. “Don't you dare touch me ever; you may be my brother, but I don't take it lightly when men hold me either by the arm or by the face, brother!” I snapped right back. He cleared his throat, letting go of my arm before pulling away from me. I swallowed hard, reeling in every bit of space, length, length breadth, and corridors that my eyes could remain pinned against just as soon as I took to my feet. Perhaps Sebastian had been asked to train me; it doesn't disrupt the fact that I am way more powerful than he was. “Where are you headed? This is your room.” sebastain yelled, and I stopped to halt my embarrassment before walking back to him. “Training starts at four tomorrow," he added, turning on his feet. “Four? That'd be too early.” I retorted, knowing I needed way more time to sneak around tomorrow morning and study the layout of our old palace. “L, that's all.” He retorted before storming away from the spot; it was something about his ego, which perhaps getting beaten up by me will reduce that by a bit. I was a stoner afterwall. I pushed open the door to the room. Slowly, I stepped through the doors while a loud screech eased through my lips and a sudden wave of energy washed through me. I could feel it, a grin crawled up to the sides I'd my lips, I would have the perfect life I always wanted soon enough.. A loud knock settled into the door, taking me by surprise. I stirred in bed, letting out a lazy yawn. Slowly, I rubbed my palms over my eyes as the knock came on again, in the most unsettling manner. Then I tensed up, glancing around only to recall the previous occurrences. This wasn't my home, it wasn't my life, and I shouldn't have opted for something like that. I had fallen asleep—way too long, to be sure. I swallowed hard, casting my gaze onto that of the windows. The drapes of the curtains were edging down, but the sun pierced right through them. I shifted my gaze to the clock in the center room. Twelve minutes past eleven, Sebastian , that sly, sneaky ass liar, he didn't wake me. I stormed up to my feet, pushed open the doors, and I met the smiling face of Helen. “You didn't open up the door in haste, my lady I was scared to death, worried that something was wrong with you.” “I have gone into some other damned situation, well thanks to my mother, everything should be good..” I asked, running my palms into my hair, knowing every minute I wasted a minute away from enjoying every opportunity that this new life had to offer me. “You're here tonight, aren't you? I mean, is it safe? Aren't you meant to be back at that house?” I asked my boring eyes directly into hers. She has served my mother previously, came in and out of our hold home, we weren't wealthy before but I suspected my mother had a man who favored her, Helen had come in our previous home cleaned a couple of times and returned, but I was right afterall. My mother had indeed been having an affair. And now she seemed to be having the best time of her life so should i "No, I mean yes, but your father had asked that I come to keep your company to help you settle, so I'll! Stay with you, although you look a mess. It's way past eleven, your highness. You have other duties to tend to; you can't just... Well, lay fallows so easily.” she admitted swallowing hard And just then my eyes moved towards the mirror. I looked terrible. “You look like a mess, sister.” Sebastian's pestering voice rang into the hair as he walked through the door past Helen, who bowed immediately. “Leave us,” he ordered. “But she just got there,“ I could hear his words indicating that he could just forget about being unnecessarily boring. “What you want isn't important, dear sister; my orders are most important!” he snapped just like the egoistic brother I expected him to be. Just a few seconds ago, I was happy to see, learn, learn and know that there had been a whole lot going on, yet seek to prove that Freya had been designed to have a father like that who shaved her away into the darkened yard, a stepmother who wanted me dead and to make things worse, she somehow wound up with a brother like that. those things, I didn't expect or want them. “I'm sorry, brother, why shouldn't I? She's my maid after all, so whatever you have to say, spill it,” I ordered. He bit down on his lips, sure to pass me a glare. “Fine, you've got some nerve, you know, which makes it even better, so we do it that way. You field to come to practice this morning, and in return, you'll have to run twenty lapses and help in cleansing the stables! He snapped, acting all mighty like he ought to. Although I knew I ought to be well versed in desk duties. Learning more about the company's profits, yet he wouldn't do all that, typical Sebastian, why not make me waste more time cleaning stables than doing what indeed I ought to. “I didn't miss training, you didn't wake me like you agreed to.“ I complained, standing firm on my grounds; I had way more innocent things to do than babble back and forth with an arrogant brother like him. “You dare claim the west thy son tells lies?” He asked, closing in the space between us like it was meant to intimidate me or something. “You know what? I have no interest in any form of argument between us brothers, so how about we make it clear and safe? You and I share no bond, nothing together, and with that being said, I'll be sure you regret a whole lot, coming directly from me.”I threatened before shoving past him. “You think I'm scared of you!” He asked his voice to show a domineering stance towards it. “Aren't you?” I asked in response, gritting my teeth slowly. “You don't want to find out; I assure you about that.” He resigned before making his way past me and towards the door. A scoff eased through my lips. What was his threat about? I didn't like his arrogance one bit, and if I wanted him scorched to death right on the spot I could, all it was going to take was a fire on my finger and his burning flame would be set down, but it wanted a smart decision, and I was no fool. “in an hour we leave for school ,your new school and my safe haven I have Lord of funs stacked up for you,, and be sure to bring all this loudness and sarcasm along with you, because you'll be needing them when I'm done with you “ he responded with a blunt force that slammed the door right into our faces. I shrugged before drawing my feet back to the bed. I could see her gaze, her piercing gaze against my skin, of Helen, and she seemed really easy on me. “What's with the stars?” I asked before clasping my back right to bed. “Could you please hand... little?” She asked, pointing towards the pillow. I reached for it and passed it to her. I watched as she took slow, cautious steps away from me, plunging me deeper into darkness, uncertain as to what was going on. “Stop the mind games; I'm a little busy; I need to think. '' I added, still paying no attention to whatever it was that she was doing. “You aren't going to prepare my lady?” She blurted out, and I froze instantly, turning to face her. “Pardon?” I asked, but my voice failed me as it came on to the cracking court at the end. “You aren't that snobbish and slow are you, he's literal bringing things up to piss you off. and yes you have to leave for school but I think it's time you claim rights to your father's properties, and maybe your mother is the new wide you still are his daughter too aren't you, ans you should out Sebastian in his place what better way to do that is there than showing him who's boss at his very own school.?” She asked before passing me a light wink while a sly smile curved up the edge of my lips.LAURA'S POV.I pushed my orbs open, a light yawn based through my lips. I fluttered my eyes, turning my gaze around, unable to understand where I was or how I had gotten there. I swallowed hard, rolling around in bed. and then I recalled it: I was no longer the usual poker hopeless and helpless Laura. My mother has remarried. I was longer in our little house; I now lived in a mansion. The curtains pushed open as a blinding ray of light shot at me, deeply groaning inwardly at the sudden situation of things. This wasn't how I planned it all out.I pulled the covers up from my head,"Mother, you can't keep doing this; I'm all grown now.” I complained, but then stopped in my words. I gasped from surprise, only for my eyes to match with Sebastian's scrutinizing gaze; he wasn't pleased, yet more than that heat flushed through my cheeks, feeling really embarrassed. I swallowed hard, not caring to speak out of line.“I'm sorry, I had no idea.”“That it wasn't mommy?” he asked, sarcasm laced
LAURA'S POV."Well, don't you just stand there and gawk shamelessly? You are late, and good riddance if you think I'll pull some special strings just to make sure you get into school.” sebastain explained.I could see the frown he had; he wasn't pleased, and neither was I to him, who only arched me, his eyes filled with amazement while I hopped in the car.“And you go on, get out, be back late tonight. Laura will get home earlier than I would, so I suggest by every means that you both find a coup to cover up or something,” he explained. The more he spoke, the more I realized how much of a cry baby he really was. I was amazed, truth be told, and taken by surprise, but it was not that I had not expected Sebastian to be so acoustic. The last I had seen was Chris passing me a faint smile right before Sebastian slammed the door to the car with every form of gruff and snogging attitude he had to offer.“Driver, please don't be late; let's push up the ride a bit. Our little sister here does
LAURA'S POVA knot tied in my belly on hearing his words, I couldn't help avert my gaze over to him, and then back to that of the building.“You own the school?” I asked again, uncertain if this was one of his plain ass jokes heavy on sarcasm or if he was just wealthy.“You forget how rich I am, sister; you'll get used to it. My father bought most of the shares for Me when I was just nineteen, and I bought the entire shares when I was twenty. I own the school, although only a few important people know about this.” He explained dropping the bombshell on me.I watched as he peered his gaze into the wristwatch strapped to his left wrist before raising his eyebrow.“Well, shall we? I have ten more minutes to get on the road. I've got a busy schedule today.” He asked me. Already sticking to his feet while speaking, not once did he glance back to check my reaction or whatever words it was that I had to say.“Speaking of which, what's your type of car, like the ones that strike your fancy?”
LAURA'S POV.The rest of the day ended more quickly than I had expected. I spent the entire day moving from class to class, checking through the halls, corridors, and different clubs, not knowing which to sign into.Yet the more I thought about it, the more I couldn't stop thinking of what had truly happened.Everyone wouldn't keep their gaze on me; they stated at me like I was some sort of cheap loser, and well, of course, it was mostly certain because they believed my mom to be nothing but a gold digger, and here I was, the shameless one without having anything to offer, do, or take other than attending the school my elder brother had been using to buy off and tease me about it.“Mam?” A voice called out, drawing me out of whatever thoughts I had that had been cooped up on my end. I sighed and rolled my eyes while sudden uneasiness washed through me.I swallowed hard before turning around, but no one seemed to be in the area other than me.“Are you talking to me?” I asked, and my in
Sebastian ’s point of view.I had not seen Chris at home, he probably went out and about, moving again when I had given him clear instructions to return home.“Where is Chris?” I asked a maid who was passing by.“He went out, said it was urgent.” The maid responded while I rolled my eyes, well of course it was always one thing or another with Chris, counting on him was as good as killing oneself.“And laura?” I asked to loosen the end of my tie.“She's up in her room, she has refused to come down for dinner and I think she is not doing so well.” The maid explained again, I nodded and gestured that she could leave.I had seen her new car in the driveway, she had been done with her classes for the day, but if anything at all I had expected that she would be full of energy rather than staying cooped up full of tears. .Slowly I placed gentle knocks on her door, I could hear entitled cries and sobs but she wasn't moving an inch either.Several other knocks and I pushed open the door only
NICKLOAI’s POINT OF VIEW.I was way too stunned to speak; my eyes remained glued against hers and for the first time in my entire life, I hesitated. It was a first for me. I was at a loss for words, uncertain of what to eat or think.I didn't know if this was the effect Laura had on me or the fact that I immediately became protective of Violet. I had an undeniable bond shared with Violet; I was in love with her, but she belonged to another, which meant I couldn't let her get into danger all because of me. And then it came down to Laura . I had been taught by my father to lie on the spot as quickly as I could; I had bravely been caught lying or cutting shots of words. This was one of the first lessons I took as a young master.“I'll take this your silence as you admit it. Do you have any idea what it is that you have done? She is the wife to your father's business partner, i may be new here but i had seen the man to dad and they were both visiting him, could you? She asked sternly i
LAURAS POV.I checked for the time twice in a row, yet nothing. I had been waiting for Helen for ages, she had asked to get my shoes since it's been twelve minutes past already."Well, you most certainly seem so excited about this ball of yours and stuff.” Out of the blue”Sebastian's voice rang through the air.I turned to see him leaning against the door, arms folded over his chest.“Oh, please go on; do not let me interrupt this charade; it is her you have going on.” He added pure sarcasm in his words. I stared at him blankly, moving my gaze towards him and away from him. At the same time, it did seem like he didn't quite understand the dire situation we were in at the moment. “What do you want, Sebastian?I think the orders are clear; there will be a party in about an hour and you aren't dressed yet.” I asked, tilting my head a bit, uncertain of how the entire royalty thing worked out. Was I dressed way too early? Perhaps it was my driven mind, determined to hunt down seraphin
LAURA'S POV.I pushed open my eyes; a night yawn eased through my lips while I rolled around in bed. My arms felt a bit cramped, but then it all came to me: memories of the previous occurrences I had been in the room with Sebastain; he was crying; I helped him into the bed when he fell asleep; but he has drawn me closer to him, faces inches apart.I recalled watching his face while he slept, his lips, the perfect shades of light pink, how moist they were. I remember trying to trace my fingers around it, but I couldn't. I was scared and worried to death. Whatever it was, I wanted it handled in the most proficient manner. What I don't remember was him walking out of bed or me falling asleep.“My lady.” I jolted up on hearing the voice; my heart hammered against my chest until I caught sight of Helen, who stood hovering around the bed. She had a stoic expression, and I could tell she wasn't pleased.“How long have you been waiting to scare the hell out of me?” I asked, still holding on
