Alice continued to stare outside the window, but the smile Devon wanted to see didn’t return to her face. She was in a daze, like something was in her mind weighing her down. This caused him to be a little concerned.

They drove until, and they got to what looked like a forest, with many tall trees on each side of the road. It was quiet as they drove, and the road was long. The more they drove, the more the buildings grew lesser, till there were no cars or houses and even people seen.

After driving along the road for almost ten minutes, they finally emerged in what seemed to be a small town. There were fewer people in the town and no large buildings, only beautiful cottage-like houses. With small shops on each side of the road after. There was a bookshop, a local library and also a small restaurant at an intersection they took and Alice, curious eyes, scrutinized the entire area. She loved how peaceful the whole place seemed.

The people there didn’t seem to be a bit curious about why a
