Jasmine's POV

Zenia and I were in the supermarket throwing food into a cart while moving from aisle to aisle.

"Put this in there," she said, throwing two pregnancy tests into the cart.

"Zenia, I already told you that I'm not pregnant," I pleaded.

"Lets say that you are pregnant, who's the father?"

I gave her a death glare and, if looks could kill, I would have killed my own sister.

"Hey, don't get mad at me," she said, throwing up her hands in surrender.

"I get why you asked that question, but Evan would definitely be the father since I never engaged in any sexual activities with Bradley."

"So you didn't use any protection?" she asked in a whisper tone.

"Yeah we did. But there was this one time we didn't and he ejaculated inside me."

"My gosh."

"Can we just drop this topic? I'm really trying to move on with my life."

"Sure."

Jasmine's POVIt was a hot day in Brooklyn. I woke up to sweat running from my forehead to my chest and between my breasts. I pulled the covers off me and went to the bathroom and did my morning business. I stepped into the shower next, brushing my teeth, washing my hair and taking a long bath. I had been working myself up and breaking down again after seeing Evan and Aria Goode together at the restaurant.Aria fricking Goode. A country singer. Beautiful in the face, long brown flowing hair, beautiful eyes, pretty lips and an awesome personality. Everyone liked her and would become a die hard fan the moment they heard her music. She was a goddess with a guitar and a songbird on the microphone. She was everything.Despite the heat raging outside, I had to get to work. Today was payday and I needed my money badly.I got dressed and went towards the kitchen."You got the morning shift?" Mom asked. She was whipping up a nice batch of pancakes wh

Jasmine's POV"NO, NO, NO! I CAN'T BE PREGNANT. Doctor, with all due respect, you have me confused with another patient. I'M NOT PREGNANT!" I screamed at Dr. Shannon once I had recovered and she told me the news again."Jasmine, please relax. Take deep breaths. I know sometimes these things are hard to process, especially when you were not planning," she replied while adjusting the pillow underneath my head."I just don't understand. I took two pregnancy tests. TWO! And they both showed negative," I recalled the pregnancy tests Zenia picked up for me when we went grocery shopping."Well, I honestly don't know what faulty pregnancy test you picked up, or if you didn't follow the directions carefully. Or, in medical terms, some women's bodies produce mixed hormonal signals and sometimes a pregnancy test cannot be accurate. Stress is a great factor for doing such."So, that's why some women, when they think they're pregnant, p

Evan's POVI was sitting in my office and staring at the picture of my parents' wedding. Emily and I were still babies but I was such a chubby one.I wonder what it would be like to actually become a father. My office phone rang and removed the thought from my mind."Evan Hollen," I answered."Mr. Hollen, I have a Miss Blackman here to see you," my secretary said from her end.My heart skipped a beat. Jasmine?"Jasmine?" I asked her."No. She said her name is Zenia Blackman. The little sister.""Send her in."Why is Zenia here?Sitting up in my chair and straightening my suit, I watched Zenia come through the door. She walked up to my desk slowly while gazing around the room."Good morning," I greeted her.Her eyes landed on me now. "Good morning," she answered back."How can I help you?" I asked her."There's something you

Jasmine's POV"Pack my things?" I asked for the second time."Did I stutter?" he asked. He turned the car engine off and opened his car door.I remained seated. I felt numb."Jasmine," he called me as he came around my side. He opened the passenger's door and stood there, waiting for me to get out."Why do you want me to move into your house? I'm very comfortable and happy at my own apartment.""Jasmine, you're having my kid. You've been talking crazy about adoption and abortion. Do you think I'll be comfortable having you away from me with the baby inside you? You're moving into the mansion where I can keep a closer eye on you and the baby.""But you're at work all the time!""Jasmine, I'm not going to fight you on this any longer. Get yourself upstairs and let your sister assist you with packing.""I don't want to leave my sister and my mother," I protested as the tears came welling up

  • IMPERFECT Assistant    Chapter 44: Cool Off

Evan's POV"I can't believe you moved that girl into your house!" Aria snapped at me.We were sitting in a restaurant, having lunch together. I had just told her the news about the pregnancy and moving Jasmine into my mansion. Aria was furious. We had been going steady for three weeks now."How are you even so sure that the baby is yours?""I took her word for it."She scoffed and folded her arms. "Wasn't she the same one who left you for another man? Wasn't she the same one who embarrassed you at your gala last month?""Yes. That's the one.""And, yet, you're taking her word for it?"I remained silent. The thought of someone else fathering the child did cross my mind. If that wasn't my kid inside of Jasmine, I honestly didn't know what the hell I'd do. I wanted a kid. And, although Jasmine and I had parted ways, a fraction of my heart still belonged to her, and I was happy she was carrying a baby for me.

  • IMPERFECT Assistant    Chapter 45: Tell Me About It

Jasmine's POVI sat down on my bed, in one of the guest rooms, combing my hair before tying it up in a bun to get some sleep.I left a window open so the cool air came in as I threw myself, face down, onto the bed. I felt lonely and sad that this was what Evan and I had come to. I never wanted this much separation.A single tear fell from my eyes and was sucked up by the bed sheets underneath me.A knock came on the door, suddenly, and startled me a bit. I rolled over on the bed and, standing on my feet, I went to open the door as the knock came again."Hi," he said as he came into my room and began looking around. This was so unexpected but like him."Hi," I answered him back and looked at his every movement."You like the room?" he asked me."Yes. It's comfortable and I'm warm," I answered. He came closer to me. So close that his body heat warmed me even more. I took three steps b

Evan's POVShe was flushing in the car seat and looked out of the window constantly the rest of the car ride to the OBGYN's office. After telling my parents the news about the pregnancy, Mom recommended an obstetrician and told me she'd slap me upside my head if I didn't accompany Jasmine there on the first day. I was already planning on being there for her though.I pulled the car into a parking lot of a neat, two-story building with dark tinted glass windows and a true nature, outdoor environment. I instantly liked it. It was also private so I wasn't worried about the press showing up.Thanks Mom.I opened the door and held Jasmine's hand as she got out and looked around in amazement. I led her to the entrance and pushed in the door."Good morning. You must be the Hollens," a nurse greeted with a smiling face."Yes," I answered without correction."Dr. Matador would be with you very shortly.

Jasmine's POVI continued my shopping as normal without making a scene with Bradley and his baby's mother. I had my own child to worry about and better things to do than getting into an argument with a liar. I already knew the truth, and saw the truth, and that was all that mattered.I was so excited to become a mother and to have my baby in my arms.Motherhood was becoming a beautiful thing to me, and I also knew it wouldn't be smooth sailing, but I was definitely up for the challenge.I was so happy Zenia went to Evan and he talked some sense into me. I would've had an abortion if he hadn't shown up at my apartment that day.I cussed myself mentally. I was so stupid, and I was such a coward, but as the days went by with my baby inside me, I knew I was getting stronger and stronger and I'd eventually stop loving Evan and move on with my life. There was just no way Evan would let me move on to another relationship with his baby i

Three weeks laterJasmine's POVEvan and I had been lying in bed when an idea crossed my mind. I had realized that there were so such to him that I didn't know about as yet and so many unanswered questions.I gently tugged on his shoulder and he turned towards me with a smiling face and messy hair."Can't sleep?" he asked."Can I ask you something?" I asked, ignoring his question."Sure, what is it?""Why do you give women white roses when you're through with them?"He chuckled and ran his hands over his face."When I was a little boy, I used to go to my great grandmother's house a lot before she passed. Right before she got sick, she started planting a garden of white roses, and I assisted her sometimes. Right before the very first blossom of the roses, she passed. She never got the chance to see her white garden, and I took it very hard. So, I use white roses to tell women goodbye, and that they're dead to me."I was shoc

Evan's POV"I'm going upstairs to get Aria," I told my mother."I'll be waiting right here," Mom replied before sitting on the couch I had slept on for the night.I climbed the stairs while my head floated to another dimension. My memories were only of putting Jasmine and Jevan out the house. The way she cried and pleaded to me. The way she looked at me when she tore up the check. The way Jevan looked at me when he was out the door in his mother's arms. The way her last words hurt me: "Go to hell Evan Hollen."It was haunting and it was painful. My heart squeezed against my chest as if it wanted to break free. I couldn't handle all of the heaviness. I needed to fix this and fast."Aria, we have to leave right now," I said as I entered the bedroom. She was sitting at the dressing table applying her makeup and already dressed."What's going on?""Mom is downstairs. Jasmine's POVEmma and I sat down on the patio while Zenia was inside with Jevan."Jasmine, I need you to be very honest with me. I'm not here to judge you or yell at you and belittle you. I'm here for the truth. Can someone else be the father of baby Jevan?"I shook my head no."Could Bradley Pittsburg have drugged you and had sex with you without your permission and knowledge?""No, Emma!" I snapped at her but quickly regretted it. "It never got to a stage where anything like that could have happened. I know what I did at the gala was messed up, and I know why Evan had doubts in the beginning, but I never slept with Bradley, or anyone else for that matter. I was always conscious when I was with Bradley, and never once had he forced himself onto me. We never even kissed. It was just a friendly get together whenever we got together and nothing more."I was reaching a point where I couldn't stand this anymore. Ev

  • IMPERFECT Assistant    Chapter 57: And The DNA Test Says

Evan's POVHe had my grey eyes, my hair texture and color, and my complexion when I was newly born. Mom took countless pictures of when Emily and I were babies, and Jevan resembled me. I had no doubt in my mind; he was absolutely my son.Jasmine had been discharged the following day after she had given birth. I took her and the baby back home. I knew I said that, when the baby came, Jasmine would have to find somewhere to stay, but Jevan was too young to be outdoors so soon, and the police detectives still hadn't found out who attacked her during the early stage of the pregnancy. All of that just made me unsettled to have Jevan out there.I had already bought everything a baby needs: from cribs and countless pieces of clothes, to newborn baby formula. She had everything she needed for Jevan, and she wasn't to worry about a thing.I watched him as he slept so peacefully in the crib. Mom, Dad, EJ, Emily, Susan and Zenia met us at the hospital

He said he wanted his son to be apart of the wedding.I'd learned to accept his engagement and decided to move on with my life once the baby arrived. Evan promised to get a place for us and put money into an account for me until I could get back on my feet and find myself another job.
