Jasmine's POV

I sat down on my bed, in one of the guest rooms, combing my hair before tying it up in a bun to get some sleep.

I left a window open so the cool air came in as I threw myself, face down, onto the bed. I felt lonely and sad that this was what Evan and I had come to. I never wanted this much separation.

A single tear fell from my eyes and was sucked up by the bed sheets underneath me.

A knock came on the door, suddenly, and startled me a bit. I rolled over on the bed and, standing on my feet, I went to open the door as the knock came again.

"Hi," he said as he came into my room and began looking around. This was so unexpected but like him.

"Hi," I answered him back and looked at his every movement.

"You like the room?" he asked me.

"Yes. It's comfortable and I'm warm," I answered.

He came closer to me. So close that his body heat warmed me even more. I took three steps b

Evan's POVShe was flushing in the car seat and looked out of the window constantly the rest of the car ride to the OBGYN's office. After telling my parents the news about the pregnancy, Mom recommended an obstetrician and told me she'd slap me upside my head if I didn't accompany Jasmine there on the first day. I was already planning on being there for her though.I pulled the car into a parking lot of a neat, two-story building with dark tinted glass windows and a true nature, outdoor environment. I instantly liked it. It was also private so I wasn't worried about the press showing up.Thanks Mom.I opened the door and held Jasmine's hand as she got out and looked around in amazement. I led her to the entrance and pushed in the door."Good morning. You must be the Hollens," a nurse greeted with a smiling face."Yes," I answered without correction."Dr. Matador would be with you very shortly.

Jasmine's POVI continued my shopping as normal without making a scene with Bradley and his baby's mother. I had my own child to worry about and better things to do than getting into an argument with a liar. I already knew the truth, and saw the truth, and that was all that mattered.I was so excited to become a mother and to have my baby in my arms.Motherhood was becoming a beautiful thing to me, and I also knew it wouldn't be smooth sailing, but I was definitely up for the challenge.I was so happy Zenia went to Evan and he talked some sense into me. I would've had an abortion if he hadn't shown up at my apartment that day.I cussed myself mentally. I was so stupid, and I was such a coward, but as the days went by with my baby inside me, I knew I was getting stronger and stronger and I'd eventually stop loving Evan and move on with my life. There was just no way Evan would let me move on to another relationship with his baby i

Jasmine's POV"I can't take this shit ANYMORE! You must be thinking that I'm some goddamned prisoner in this maximum security hellhole! I told you that I'm leaving and that's exactly what I'm going to do, whether you like it or NOT!"I had reached my breaking point with Evan Hollen. He wasn't interested in forgiving me and starting over, and I was no longer interested in playing house with his ass.I stuffed my bags with clothing and items I had previously bought for myself with his money."Jasmine, why are you leaving?""I'm leaving because I want to move on. I want my own life, which doesn't have to revolve around you!"I continued packing up my things. Everything my hands fell on was stuffed into a bag or a suitcase."Oh, so you're leaving because you want to run into the arms of another man with my child inside of you? You want to start dating again? Well go on ahead! I'm not going to argue with

  • IMPERFECT Assistant    Chapter 49: Who Did It?

Zenia's POVI rode in the back of the ambulance and listened to my sister groan from the excruciating pain. All I was thinking about was the baby inside of her and how much it would devastate her if something terrible was to happen.Jasmine had adapted to the pregnancy and the motherhood she was about to face. Two days ago, she had called me and told me she was extremely grateful to have me as a sister and everything was going smoothly with her pregnancy, and how much she could picture me being a bad ass aunt to her child. I smiled at that thought. The ambulance came to a halt and the doors flung open.Jasmine was carried through an emergency entrance and I tailed quickly right behind her. I was stopped by other doctors and medical staff when I followed them into a room."You'll have to wait out here, ma'am. No one is allowed in this room."I was pushed outside the room before the doors locked in my face.I paced the floor

Evan's POV"The good news: Miss Blackman and the baby are both okay. We've managed to stop the bleeding; but, the bad news is, she lost a great deal of blood. The silver lining is, in time of pregnancy, a woman's body produces enough red blood cells for the growing and developing fetus, so the body is practically healing itself. You're very lucky," the doctor said.I exhaled heavily, as if I had been holding in my breath forever.Thank you Jesus."Is she awake?" I wanted to see her."Yes."He ushered us to room 207, where Jasmine was wide awake and looking at the television."She's one tough cookie," the doctor whispered, "but please don't make her upset or say anything to her that would cause her to become distressed. The baby's condition is still very fragile. We'd like her to remain here for three days for further observation.""We understand," we replied and nodded."I'll let th

Two Months Later*Jasmine's POVI was in the park with Emma Hollen-- Evan's mom. She had been very supportive of me and the baby, and she made time just to be there for us.Sometimes we would go shopping or go have lunches at a restaurant, or go for a walk through the park, or sit at the house and girl chat, as she called it. She was an incredible woman and I liked her."It's such a beautiful day outside," she said as we sat down on a bench in the lawn.Fisher and another guard were roaming close by."It is," I answered with a smile."So, Jasmine, you said there was something you wanted to talk about. What's that sweetie?" she asked and handed me a bottled water to quench my thirst.I felt like I could vent to her and tell her anything. She was so down to earth, understanding and kind. I had no idea how her son could be so different. He must have got it from his father."Do yo

Jasmine's POVI was officially six months pregnant.I was trying my best to lean forward and massage my own two feet. I'd been having muscle spasms, pain, and my feet were swollen because I wasn't relaxing as a pregnant woman ought to be. After the failing attempts, I gave up and laid back on the large, leather couch in the mansion's living room.Evan took me back to his house as soon as I was discharged from the hospital. He said he wasn't taking any chances, especially since the culprit hadn't been caught. He gave my mom and Zenia the keys to one of his penthouses and said they could stay as long as they liked.Zenia was back in school now, and mom got a promotion at her job, so they both were usually busy.I turned on the television and browsed through the channels.I wonder what's Evan's Netflix password?I turned off the television and my eyes shut, but I wasn't sleeping.I heard his voice coming from

Evan's POV"Oh, so what? When the baby comes, you two are going to get back together and leave me out in the cold?" Aria asked as she paced my bedroom, frowning. She had seen when I came out of Jasmine's room and it made her very upset, though I assured her there wasn't anything to worry about."I already told you there's nothing to worry about. Jasmine and I aren't together," I said, trying to get on her good side."YOU WERE IN HER ROOM!" she snapped at me, like I wasn't aware of that. "WHY WERE YOU IN HER DAMN ROOM?!""Aria, just calm down.""DON'T TELL ME TO CALM DOWN!!" she shouted even louder and smashed a vase on the wall.I, honestly, was startled by her actions and her behavior. She fell onto the floor and started crying like a child. I went over to her and pulled her up into my arms."Baby, I'm sorry, okay. I don't want to hurt you. I had realized that there were so such to him that I didn't know about as yet and so many unanswered questions.I gently tugged on his shoulder and he turned towards me with a smiling face and messy hair."Can't sleep?" he asked."Can I ask you something?" I asked, ignoring his question."Sure, what is it?""Why do you give women white roses when you're through with them?"He chuckled and ran his hands over his face."When I was a little boy, I used to go to my great grandmother's house a lot before she passed. Right before she got sick, she started planting a garden of white roses, and I assisted her sometimes. Right before the very first blossom of the roses, she passed. She never got the chance to see her white garden, and I took it very hard. So, I use white roses to tell women goodbye, and that they're dead to me."I was shoc

Evan's POV"I'm going upstairs to get Aria," I told my mother."I'll be waiting right here," Mom replied before sitting on the couch I had slept on for the night.I climbed the stairs while my head floated to another dimension. My memories were only of putting Jasmine and Jevan out the house. The way she cried and pleaded to me. The way she looked at me when she tore up the check. The way Jevan looked at me when he was out the door in his mother's arms. The way her last words hurt me: "Go to hell Evan Hollen."It was haunting and it was painful. My heart squeezed against my chest as if it wanted to break free. I couldn't handle all of the heaviness. I needed to fix this and fast."Aria, we have to leave right now," I said as I entered the bedroom. She was sitting at the dressing table applying her makeup and already dressed."What's going on?""Mom is downstairs. Jasmine's POVEmma and I sat down on the patio while Zenia was inside with Jevan."Jasmine, I need you to be very honest with me. I'm not here to judge you or yell at you and belittle you. I'm here for the truth. Can someone else be the father of baby Jevan?"I shook my head no."Could Bradley Pittsburg have drugged you and had sex with you without your permission and knowledge?""No, Emma!" I snapped at her but quickly regretted it. "It never got to a stage where anything like that could have happened. I know what I did at the gala was messed up, and I know why Evan had doubts in the beginning, but I never slept with Bradley, or anyone else for that matter. I was always conscious when I was with Bradley, and never once had he forced himself onto me. We never even kissed. It was just a friendly get together whenever we got together and nothing more."I was reaching a point where I couldn't stand this anymore. Ev

  • IMPERFECT Assistant    Chapter 57: And The DNA Test Says

Evan's POVHe had my grey eyes, my hair texture and color, and my complexion when I was newly born. Mom took countless pictures of when Emily and I were babies, and Jevan resembled me. I had no doubt in my mind; he was absolutely my son.Jasmine had been discharged the following day after she had given birth. I took her and the baby back home. I knew I said that, when the baby came, Jasmine would have to find somewhere to stay, but Jevan was too young to be outdoors so soon, and the police detectives still hadn't found out who attacked her during the early stage of the pregnancy. All of that just made me unsettled to have Jevan out there.I had already bought everything a baby needs: from cribs and countless pieces of clothes, to newborn baby formula. She had everything she needed for Jevan, and she wasn't to worry about a thing.I watched him as he slept so peacefully in the crib. Mom, Dad, EJ, Emily, Susan and Zenia met us at the hospital
