High School

"Levana, get up, you have school," heard a voice calling me from afar. It was a bit inaudible but the more time passed the clearer it became. "Levana, it's getting late." She stirred me harder.

I grunted a little because I was dying of sleep and wanted to continue sleeping, but I lazily opened my eyes and saw my sister sitting on my bed. She was still wearing her uniform, she looked somewhat exhausted.

"Sara," I said her name lazily.

"It's time to get up, you have classes," she reminds me. I looked for the cell phone under my pillow and when I find it I see the time: 7:04 A.M.

"You are coming?" I wanted to know, sitting back in bed.

"Yeah, last night was interesting" she stands up "I made friends with most of the doctors and nurses. They are all kind. But some are a bit strange" She frowned.

"Why you said so?" I rubbed my eyes.

"There is a small group of doctors who are a bit serious. Anyway, I'll make breakfast and then I'll get some sleep. You can take the car today because in the daytime I won't be out until the evening" She puts her lips in a single line.

That gave me to understand that she would go out again at night, the memories of the wolf yesterday invaded me and I was filled with a little terror. But I ignored that. "You have guard again," I stood up.

"It will only be these days." She walked to the door, but stopped to see me. "Did you have problems last night?"

I wanted to tell her about the wolf and how strange my neighbors are, but I didn't. I didn't give it that much importance. They didn't look like ordinary wolves for their size, but perhaps the wolves here are more impressive. And it is that I suppose that there are many races of wolves. Yesterday that wolf did nothing to me and that only gave me to understand that they were not so dangerous. So I think I'll be fine. In addition, it would only worry Sara and she would no longer go to work in peace.

"Everything was quiet, it's a pretty... quiet town, I went to the bathroom."

"I'll be in the kitchen." Sara is leaving so I went to the bathroom, took off my pajamas and got into the shower.

I tied my hair in a high bun because today I would not wash my hair. I used to wash my hair every three days. I just got wet, lathered and cleaned my body nothing more. I brushed my teeth and did everything a person does when they bathe. I took the opportunity to pee too.

I turned off the shower, put on the towel, and left the bathroom. I was kind of nervous about going to that high school. I was not sure what kind of people I would meet, but I had to be brave and I will not leave anyone else. I looked for my clothes in the closet, I decided on loose blue pants, they were loose on the legs but tight at the waist and that made my buttocks stand out. I put on my underwear, pants and a short black long-sleeved shirt, because it was cold in this place. For shoes I chose white tennis shoes. I let go of my hair and combed it a bit, letting it go down.

My hair was black but in my hair there were some rays in blue. I put on mascara, lined my eyes, put on a little blush, and painted my lips in clear lip gloss. Maybe when I had breakfast it would go away. Yesterday before going to sleep I had put the notebooks and other things in my bag. I grabbed some money, grabbed my cell phone, and snagged my purse. I left my room, went downstairs, and headed for the kitchen.

"Here are the car keys." Sara said, putting the keys on the table. "There are eggs and toast, I also made you some meat pancakes. There is juice and milk in the fridge too. I'll go shower and sleep for a while."She yawns. She looks tired.

"Quiet, Sara, rest a little that I will manage alone."

"Good luck on your first day," she says coming out of the kitchen. When I finished breakfast, I went upstairs to brush my teeth again and put on another bit of lip gloss. I left the house afterwards and got in my sister's car. The car was a Mazda CX 9 in black. I put my belt on and drove to high school. When I arrived there were already many students, the afternoon had caught me. I noticed three black cars parked and remembered that they were the ones I had seen yesterday. There was a group of boys and girls near them, I suppose some of them are the owners of the cars.

I parked near one of the black cars, that made their attention come to me. That made me a little nervous. I got out of the car, settled my bag on my shoulder and walked past them without looking at them. I felt their gazes on me, but I also noticed that they were surrounding someone. The bell rang announcing the entrance to class, I was grateful that I had come on time.

"Levana!" I heard a shout behind me. "Levana Jones!" I turned to see the aforementioned: a red-haired girl was running towards me, she was wearing a red dress that reached below her buttocks, a black lycra and black ankle boots. "How tired it is to run." She looks tired.

"Hello?" I looked at her without understanding.

"I'm Natalia." She holds out her hand, so I shook mine. "I'll be your guide through Hammond High School today."

So she will be the one to show me around. At least I won't be alone today.

"I was expecting you earlier but I guess the afternoon caught you. Right now we're going to go to classes so I'll show you around the place when we go out for lunch, okay?" Natalia seemed to me an outgoing and somewhat calm girl.

"Okay," I agreed, tightened my Triskelion necklace and we went up some stairs to find the classroom. When we got to the classroom, Natalia and I sat in the last places near a huge window overlooking the forest. The other students came and sat down. A teacher appeared at the door, he was a little older, tall and thin. What's more, he seemed to be exercising for his more or less muscular body.

"Good morning," he tells us. "I hope you have studied because we have a test today." The students booed and complained.

"He's Professor Guillermo Blanco," Natalia tells me. "He always gives us surprise tests. He teaches the history class."

The door is knocked and three boys appear there, everything happens in slow motion. The first boy was tall, thin, and perfectly combed black hair. My God, what a beauty. The second boy who entered was just as tall, his body had more muscles and his hair was black too, but this one was half combed. How handsome. And the third boy who entered left me even more astonished: he was tall, his hair was disheveled, his body was well worked and his clothes were all in black. My God, that boy was... beautiful. The boy came in and sat in the last row seat, two rows from me.

"They're the Millers," Natalia tells me again. "Don't talk to them, they're strangers and they don't like you talking to them unless they want to."

I frowned and looked at her. "How crazy," I almost laughed.

"I know, but it's always been that way. They have their rules and it is mandatory to comply with them. As you can see, most of the Hammond girls die for them, especially by Logan Miller."

"Who is he?"

"He was the one who came in last. The one who entered first is called Chase Miller, who entered second is named Steve Miller. The three are brothers, supposedly they are triplets and that is why they are in the same room."

Triplets? They were actually very different, as if they had been born a year apart.

How weird.

"Miss Levana Jones," the professor's voice took me out of the interesting conversation I had with Natalia and made me see it. -

"Yes?"

"Come forward please," he says.

I panicked.

"Why?" Was what I asked. I heard some giggles from the students.

"As it's new, I need you to introduce yourself so that we can all get to know it. Come on please" the professor asked me calmly. I swallowed thickly and stood up, walking forward. —"Tell us your name, your relatives, your age, where you come from and why. You can also add what you like to do and what you look forward to being in a new high school."

What is this, kindergarten?

"Okay," I agreed between clenched teeth. Being in front of this bunch of students was a bit difficult. I took out my Triskelion necklace and squeezed it. It seemed to give me courage and a bit of luck. I noticed the bewilderment of the majority but I did not put mind to them. "My name is Levana Jones, I live with my older sister Sara, I am seventeen years old, I come from Beaufort, South Carolina and we moved because my sister was transferred to Hammond Hospital. She is a nurse." I looked at the teacher to be able to finish with this, but he was looking at my necklace, when he realized he turned his eyes to me.

What happens to all of them?

"Perfect, Levana. Tell us a little about yourself. But tell us about your necklace and why you hold it to yourself."

I hesitated a bit, I didn't understand what my necklace had to do with this. "It's a Triskelion necklace and I've had it since I was a baby. My father gave it to me. I hold it to me because it tends to give me courage." I felt strange and silly talking about this.

"Interesting, Levana, tell us, where is your father?"

I felt something in my chest when he asked me that question. It was difficult for me to tell the reality when people asked me about my parents, many years had passed and I still did not get over it.

"Dead," I replied. "My father is dead."

"I'm very sorry," the professor tells me. "Thank you for your presentation. You can sit."

I walked to my place and sat down. It had been my first day and I already felt that everyone would have their eyes on me.

Great.
