Chapter 7: Cursed Princess

“Mom..? But why...?” Lily asked confused by her mother's reaction. Princess Hana also looked towards Lily's mother wondering why she's stopping her.

But her mother didn't reply to her question, instead, she grabbed her and started walking away. Her action made her daughter cry as she wanted to get her kite.

Princess Hana also wanted to ran towards her but was weak to do so. Her body can't handle the pain anymore, the man who caught her seconds ago also left not bothering to help her. Tears started pouring out her eyes, asking the moon goddess why this is happening to her.

All she did was help, but why? Why are all of them so distant? Princess Hana's thought become messy, after a few minutes, her consciousness started turning vague. And finally, she dropped on the ground weakly totally losing her consciousness.

“What did you slapped her? Are you mad?!” Beta Jack scolded glaring angrily at his daughter.

“I.. I'm sorry.. I.. I..” Cindy spoke stuttering, tears freely pouring out from her eyes.

Seeing her daughter crying, Beta Jack couldn't help but sigh and said. “Cindy, my daughter, listen... Although Princess Hana is wolf less, she's still the Princess. You acting like that will only put you on the edge of the sword. Alpha Broderick is very protective of her, if he knows about what you did, I don't know what will happen to you”

Cindy looked at her father in the eye and asked. “A-Aren't Alpha Broderick my uncle?”

“He is, but don't forget about supremacy, the strong one leads everyone” Beta Jack replied raising his head up in the sky, “Even if we're family, if one breaks the rule or commit something that's unforgivable, the Alpha will definitely punish them no matter what their status might be”

“But what about Princess Hana? She's a cursed princess, right? Why isn't she banished from the pack?!” Cindy asked again in frustration, she really wished for princess Hana to be banished.

“Shut up! She's your best friend and cousin, don't forget about that” Beta Jack shouted coldly, he really don't know why his daughter was like this. She’s acting different from what she used to be.

“I-I'm sorry” Cindy apologized with her head lowered, hiding her eyes that’s shining with hatred. Not directed to her father but to Princess Hana. 'What's so special about you that even father chose to protect you and even scold me? I hate you!' she thought as her hand unconsciously forms into a fist.

“Let's not talk about this, I'm only doing this for your own good” Beta Jack stated before leaving as he still needs to patrol the area.

Cindy gritted her teeth and also left.

“Ugh.” Princess Hana let out a soft moan of pain while gently moving her body around her bed.

“Huh?” She exclaimed in confusion as she saw the familiar scene in front of her. The soft bed, nice decorated ceiling and furnitures. She glanced to her left and saw everything very clearly, it was her room!

“What am I doing here?” She asked herself dumbfounded.

“Ouch”

Princess Hana exclaimed in pain as she tried to leave her bed, but since her body were hurt internally, even moving simply hurts.

“Beta Jack, it has been a day and a half but my daughter was still unconscious. What should we do?” Princess Hana heard a familiar voice of a woman coming from outside of her room. A trace of anxiousness could be traced from her tone.

“Don't worry Luna, as what the doctor had said, she'll wake up eventually when her body adjust with the pain she suffered” a strong male voice also replied which Princess Hana thought to be Beta Jack.

“But why is it taking so long? I'm dying just thinking about her situation, is there no other way?” Luna Dianne asked in concern.

“I know you're worried about your daughter but stay calm, she'll be fine, don't worry. As we all know, she haven't awaken her wolf, that's why her regeneration ability isn't the same as us” Beta Jack explained.

Then the door of her room opened, followed by Beta Jack and Luna Dianne’s appearance. When Luna Dianne saw her daughter that’s already awake, she instantly ran towards her and hugged her tight.

“Thank goodness you’re already awake.” Luna Dianne whispered, she then examined her daughter’s body. After a while, she asked angrily, “Why did you climbed that tree for?! You should take care of yourself and stop making me worry!”

Princess Hana know what her mother was feeling and so she stayed silent. After some time, she whispered to her mother's ear and apologized for making her worried.

“It's fine… Just don't do that again. Okay?” Luna Dianne said reminding her daughter. As if she was hit by realization, she asked, “Did you climbed that tree to commit suicide? Even if life is difficult, don’t ever do such a thing!”

Her mother's question shocked her. She hastily shook her head then said. “N-no… Why would I do something like that?”

“Don't deny… I know you realized that everyone was distancing themselves from you” Luna Dianne sadly spoke. “Listen, there's a reason why they are doing that and our ancestors teaching was the core reason of it.”

“It was already passed two century, a prophet of the silver moon pack gave a verdict that when a member of the pack turned 18 and was wolf less, they have to be banished from the pack.”

“The reason the prophet gave was that, if a wolf less 18 years old stayed in the pack and wasn't banished, the pack will face its demise. That's why people believed that those wolf less 18 years old are cursed being”

Princess Hana stayed silent after hearing her mother's narration. Her face furrowed, thinking deeply about something.

“But you don't have to worry about that, it's already been more than two century, that prophecy must be ineffective now” Luna Dianne assured smiling happily at her daughter.

“By the way Mom, who brought me here?”
