Chapter 1: School Time Great!

Rose's Pov:

"Rose... get up time for school!" My mum called out from down the hallway

I sighed in annoyance of all days it had to be this one dad's anniversary. Let's see If my acting improved "Mum I'm not feeling well I have a migraine" I winced in fake pain hopefully she falls for it.

I hear her walking from down the hallway as she strides towards me she starts to probably think is she telling the truth or not.

"Are you okay" she asks her brows furrowing in worry

She comes into the room towards me feeling my head for a temperature than put's the thermometer in my mouth as she waits.

For a minute I had hope that she would let me have a day off school because of the day.... but of course she can see behind my white lies she gives me a knowing smirk one that reflected my own on alot of occasions "Your lying, I know today isn't the best day to attend school but your education is important...It was to him too more than you know" She replied

I sighed while she sits on the side of my bed "Look If your still not feeling up to it just text me and I'll pick you up but please make an effort It's your last year I want you to pass" She stated

"This day is just a horrible reminder you know he was going out to get my dress for prom with Felicity and they both died" I replied

She gives me a sad but comforting smile "I know you and Felicity were close until..." She trailed off

"Jace" I finished

"Has his parents contacted you at all?" I questioned

"No sweetheart you have nothing to worry about okay It's been awhile" She gives me a smile but I can tell It's forced.

'So they are still contacting her' I thought seeing the pain behind my mothers eyes

I nod getting up "Okay I'll try for you today but I swear If I can't handle it please pick me up" I stated

She nods and says "Okay, the twins are here by the way downstairs with some knowing gossip" She smiled

As If something crossed her mind she looked at me and continued "later I've got to address something with you okay".

My face scrunched up in confusion as I sit up "Should I be worried mum?" I questioned

She shakes her a little "No, It's just a very big step in both of our lives and I wanted to speak to you about it, It's long overdue" She replied getting up from the bed

"You better get downstairs they are acting a bit overexcited about a new guy attending" She stated waving her arm 

"Of course" I replied chuckling while she walked out 

Something about what she said didn't sit well with me for some reason, what did she mean by an important step in her and my life' I thought thinking too hard

It's probably nothing to worry about, I swung my feet off the bed, as my feet hit the cold floor I made my way to my bathroom and before I closed the door I heard my mum holler " And make sure to grab your homework It better be finished" I chuckled as I roll my eyes in disappointment can't get away with anything, can I?

As I hop in the shower letting the hot water cascade down my back, I leaned against the tiled wall it soothes my sore muscles and soon I swear I started to fall asleep at one point because it was so relaxing, Jace infiltrating my mind can't he just move on I swear It's getting to a point where I'll call him and tell him off, So mums been hauling this on herself for a while I can see she's straining behind her eyes, how long has this been going on for I haven't heard a word from him in two years since he left college.

I hop out and start to get ready for school really just wanting to bail and quit because of today's events.

I skip down the stairs every two steps and was welcomed with the smell of coffee and chocolate chip pancakes, I see my best friends gushing looking at their phones they looked up at me.

"Hey Rose you look disappointed to see us" Richelle enquired in confusion

I hugged them both "It's dads and Felicity's anniversary today" I said with a sad smile

She gives me a small smile trying to comfort me suddenly changing the subject to try and get my mind off of it, as we gathered talking about any new gossip we heard at school. Richelle suddenly pops out with something that caught my attention.

"You know there's a new guy here in town I think he's around our age and might be the new student everyone is talking about," she said

I scrunched up my eyebrows pretending to wave it off but actually interested "Yeah and your point is?" I asked

Janelle jumped in before Richelle could say anything else "Apparently he has a bad  reputation, and is super hot like with tattoo's that you just want to" She replied gushing

I raised my eyebrows In alarm putting my hands over my ears "Stop talking don't want to hear your dirty thoughts out loud!" I exclaimed

They laughed at my reaction, I turn towards Mum and I see her pause in a daydream as if in thought, I could see something was bothering her she looked on edge.

"Mum you alright you seem on edge you've barely touched your coffee," I said in a worrying tone

She breaks out of her trance and replied "Nothing is wrong Rose just really tired and exhausted" she replied taking a long sip of her coffee.

I narrowed my eyes towards her not believing a word of what she just said she was a bad liar "Okay... well we better get going I'll talk to you after school alright, get some rest okay" I said

I kissed mums cheek and walked out with Richelle and Janelle "If he's as bad as they say he is why don't we show him up" Richelle compromises raising her eyebrow in mischief I groan in annoyance I just wanted to walk today.

I knew what she wanted and she looked so excited so I rolled my eyes looking up at the sky then back at her "Okay If you want to let's do it" I said

We all head to my garage and we see our beautiful Harley motorbikes, We looked at each other "God I love our parents" Janelle said

"I still can't believe they even let us get motorbikes?" Richelle followed

I smile my eyes drifting towards mine, but little did they know that my motorbike didn't belong to me it originally was Jace's, I'll admit the memories I had on the back of this bike had good ones and bad ones especially the first time I got on the back of it.

Two years ago:

"Hey, why don't we ditch school?" Jace asked while pulling me back a bit

"Ditch school?" I questioned back my eyes widening I hadn't had a day in my life I was a prodigy daughter.

He grins "Come on I have something I want to show you..." he said grabbing my hand gently

I look up at him as he held my hand while we walked to his motorbike, he smirked as he held a helmet out to me "Do you trust me?" He asks

I smile small, "Am I going to regret this?" I asked

"Maybe..." he said with a cheeky smile

I grab the helmet he holds out to me as I put it on, he straps it in for me him tucking a stray hair behind my ear "You are so beautiful" He stated making me blush and hide beneath my hair.

"Don't hide" He continued

I look up at him smiling a little, he sits on it starting it up I swing my leg over wrapping my arms around his waist and pressing myself further into him as his muscles tense underneath his singlet.

"Okay girls, let's see how bad he really is, probably a harmless puppy," I commented with a chuckle as we all got on the back of our motorbikes driving off and heading towards school.
