Chapter 9

He dragged me along with him, and I could only watch him as he sped so quickly down the road that his tires almost gave off sparks.

He knocked down the barrier in front of the police station.

“What’s going on, Mr. Lewis?” The security guard chased after him in shock. “Weren’t you supposed to get married today?”

But Jim just ignored him.

At that moment, Zephyr was staring at my mummified corpse in the dissection room with a conflicted face. “To think that you died five years ago, Luna. Perhaps we were—”

Bam!

Jim suddenly barged in and startled Zephyr.

But before Zephyr could say anything, Jim grabbed his collar with a panicked face. “Where’s the fetus?! Where is it?!”

Zephyr just stared at him for a long while. In the end, he sighed gravely. “You sent the fetus to the lab to be dissected, Jim.”

Jim’s hand went limp, and he slid down on the floor.

“No… How could it be…?”

He trembled and stared at my kneeling corpse with sorrow. “Luna, how could you be dead?”

I wonder how.
