Chapter Forty Three

As the weeks passed, Samara and Frederick worked diligently to mend their fractured relationship. The atmosphere between them began to thaw, and they found themselves talking more, sharing small moments of laughter and companionship. One morning, Samara woke up feeling nauseous. At first, she dismissed it as stress, but as the days went by, the symptoms persisted. She decided to take a pregnancy test, and when it came back positive, her heart skipped a beat. She knew she had to tell Frederick, but she also knew how complicated this news could make things.

That evening, after dinner, Samara took a deep breath and approached Frederick in the living room. He was reading a book, but he put it down when he saw the serious expression on her face.

"Frederick, we need to talk," she said, her voice trembling slightly.
