Chapter Forty Four

A few days later, Samara found herself in the comfort of Debrah's presence, seeking solace and guidance from her sister.

They had met up at a restaurant. The restaurant she and Damien always had dinner. She knew no where else.

The weight of her situation pressed heavily on her, and she desperately needed someone to talk to. Debrah sat across from her, offering a reassuring smile.

"How are you holding up?" Debrah asked gently.

Samara sighed, her eyes filled with worry. "Not well, Debrah. I feel like I'm losing everything. Frederick is so distant, and the uncertainty about the baby is driving me crazy."

Debrah reached out and squeezed her sister's hand. "It's going to be okay, Samara. You just need to take things one step at a time."

Samara shook her head, her voice trembling. "I don't know how to move forward. Frederick doesn't trust me, and I can't blame him. What if the baby isn't his? What if it's Damien's? How am I supposed to raise a child under these circumstances?"
