Chapter Forty Seven

Samara sat on the edge of the bed, staring out of the large window that overlooked Damien’s garden. The room was spacious and filled with light, a stark contrast to the heavy atmosphere that had settled around her heart. It had only been a few days since she’d moved in with Damien, yet everything still felt surreal, as though she was living someone else’s life.

The decision had been one of the hardest she’d ever made. After Caroline’s shocking revelation, Samara couldn’t bear to stay in the house she had shared with Frederick, surrounded by the memories of their fractured marriage. Damien had been persistent, promising her that he could provide the stability and love she needed. For now, she had chosen to believe him.

Her phone buzzed on the nightstand, pulling her out of her thoughts. She reached for it, seeing her sister’s name flash across the screen.
