"Is my father coming by today?" Helena asked, leaning back to comfort herself. The car that took her to her destination was already moving at a steady pace. As Dr. Adi had requested, Helena needed to check her condition so that it would be easier to track her health and progress.

It had been three days since she fainted and found out there was a new life growing inside her. During that time, Helena thought things through and started to plan.

Did she think to tell her ex-husband? Absolutely not. Why should Arslan be the first to know about her pregnancy? Helena was pretty sure he was already tied up with his new girlfriend. All that had happened on the day of her expulsion was enough to make Helena realize that that idea was a bad one.

"Nothing," Wilna replied, a little hesitantly. She was also a little surprised to hear Helena's question on the phone. "I'll check with Mr. Hanry's secretary first.”

"What's up?" said Wilna.

“I’d like to stop by and see you.” Helena looked down at the st

“You need to take care of your health more than ever, Helena,” Adi warned. He was aware that the youngest daughter of the Edison family often disregarded her health issues. Although he hadn't seen Helena much in the past three years, Dr. Adi hadn't forgotten her complaints about her body condition."I'm not a child anymore," Helena said, looking a little annoyed. "You're just like your father. Chatty."Adi let out a chuckle. "I'm sure your father is pleased with this news.""You're right." Helena smiled broadly. "I'll let him know this weekend. Let's go, Dr. Adi. I'd love it if you could all come and have dinner together."The middle-aged man nodded right away. “I hope I can find the time.”"Thanks." Helena was ready to head out of Adi's spacious and comfortable office. The gynecological exam was thorough today, and Helena was happy with the results. If she keeps up her intake and doesn't get too tired, there's nothing to worry about. That was Doctor Adi's advice during the exam.“You

Michael was taken aback. He quickly scanned the lobby and its surroundings. His legs felt tired. He knew he needed to work out more to build up his stamina for this. But for now, he didn't really have time to think about it. Michael needed to find Helena. He wasn't sure what he was going to talk to her about, but at least he knew where Helena was. What a pain in the neck his father is! He should have told him from the start what he was doing around the Tan family!"Oh, no!" Michael gave his hair a quick shake, annoyed. As he looked around, he couldn't see any sign of the woman with the bright brown eyes, even though the area seemed big and empty. "It's not like she could have just disappeared without a trace, right?"He let out a long sigh."Doctor," said one of the nurses who happened to be in the same corridor as Michael. "What's the problem?"Michael gave a little smile. He quickly pushed Helena out of his mind. "Nothing, thanks." "I just needed to get some fresh air."“I see.” The

"I heard there's an important meeting today." Mirna asked her son, who was eating breakfast, if he knew anything about it. She was joined by her future daughter-in-law, who has been staying at her house more often to prepare for their wedding, which is just days away. Mirna didn't mind. In fact, she felt lucky and wanted to get the wedding over with as soon as possible.Mirna was able to keep her head up thanks to her relationship with Jacob's family, which was quite influential. She was quick to point out how lucky her son, Arslan, was to have a wife like Tiara. She didn't address the many questions about the woman who was previously with Arslan. "She'll only hold my son back as long as you know. "So why keep him on?"That's what Mirna said every time someone asked. But now she's not worried about that. She just wants to make Tiara her daughter-in-law right away."Yes, Mother," Arslan replied with a small smile. He looked the part, too—in a gray suit that was both elegant and classy.

Wilna looked at the man sitting in front of her with a look of annoyance. If she hadn't remembered to keep her cool, she might have asked him to leave the meeting room. The man's face was as impassive as usual, as if what happened in his life didn't really affect anything. Calm and even, according to Wilna, he looked happy."Oh, shoot! I completely forgot about that! His mistress is Jacob's family's daughter. This could really help Arslan advance in his career. It would be great if Arslan knew who he got rid of for his mistress." Wilna thought to herself. She cleared her throat to get her attention back on track. “Let’s get started with the meeting, then.”Arslan gave a little smile. "Go ahead. I'm looking forward to discussing it with you."And so they spent some time talking about the cooperation that had to be agreed upon by both parties before the contract was signed. Wilna listened closely as the Intel Corp team gave their explanation, which included some extra info from Arslan.

He quickly grabbed the cell phone on the table and made a call to the only person in authority. But he was interrupted by a quiet shake from the woman in front of him. Thomas was at a loss, looking into his sister's serious eyes.“You're making me angry, Helena,” Thomas said, trying to keep his annoyance in check. He wanted to make a phone call to Wilna. She needed to turn him down flat, whatever Arslan was offering. It was an interesting proposition, but after everything the man had done to Helena…Absolutely! There was no way Thomas would let Nakia, let alone the Edison Group, work with someone like that!"You've been giving me a hard time since the beginning," Helena said calmly. She took a slow sip of her warm milk, which she found to be a bit unpleasant. She frowned, feeling a bit uncomfortable, but she tried her best to take care of her future baby. "Are you not satisfied?" Helena added, “No problem.”"Oh my!" Thomas made a frustrated face. "I'm not sure what else to say to you,

The luncheon this time can be said to be quite luxurious. Maybe it's because the parties that will cooperate need to show how social class of business they have. After all, if this cooperation continues, it is likely that the stock movements of these two companies will continue to soar over time. Don't let this rare opportunity go to waste, right?"Wow," Tiara couldn't stop laughing. "Nakia Group never messes around when it comes to showing its class."Arslan gently rubbed the back of his future wife's hand. "You're right. That's why I have to get this project, my dear. You know, not only does your father have great hopes for me, but this collaboration will also bring me to the beginning of the highest point."Tiara smiled broadly. "I will be at your side from now on until then. Because a woman like me deserves to be at your side, right?"Arslan nodded slightly. The picture of Helena he had met earlier had changed. Why did he still think of his ex-wife? Besides, Helena should be happy

It took a while for Helena and Thomas to get to the banquet.Thomas was visibly frustrated and kept massaging his temples. Every so often, he paused and looked at his sister with a sharp gaze. “Are you sure about this?”“Yes, absolutely.” Helena replied without hesitation. "I really need Intel Corp. to cooperate on this. I asked Wilna to test the feasibility sample, and the results were pretty good. It seems that Intel has updated the program. I got the update from Wilna in an email."Thomas let out another sigh. "I'm not sure, Helena. After what that guy did, I don't want to see him around me. I can still find plenty of clients who are more capable than Intel Corp. I also heard that Jacob helped Intel Corp create the program they're now offering. You know, the Jacob Group has a pretty bad reputation, at least in my opinion. It's too risky for this partnership.""That issue has already been resolved. As I mentioned, I've already put together a sample test. That’s why I pushed for this

"My mother asked you to drop by," Arslan said before closing the car door, where Tiara had already gotten in. The banquet was over, but Arslan still felt something was off.Aside from what Miss Wilna, the CEO of Nakia Group, said, Arslan still wasn't sure about the cooperation he proposed to Thomas Edison. Arslan is eager to hear the latest and will get the ball rolling on the next step as soon as he has the green light on the cooperation.Once more, Thomas' unexpected exit from the banquet left many of the guests wondering what had really happened. Oh, and one more thing: we haven't forgotten about Helena. Which Thomas found pretty annoying. How could his ex-wife be at such an important meeting?Given that Helena rarely socialized when she was with him, Arslan doubted that she could easily get a job. Arslan saw Helena as a wife who liked to stay at home and didn't do much other than take care of the house. She wasn't like other women who contributed a lot to the family.Helena was a

“Gosh, why is that guy so annoying? Why not just tell me his name? What's so hard?” grumbled Olin as he headed to his classroom. He had to pull himself together quickly. there were still at least a few class hours before recess rang.Olin entered the classroom with a leisurely pace, his hands still busy adjusting the strap of his bag that was a little loose. His gaze swept the entire room, making sure the atmosphere was back to normal. There were no more teachers interrogating him or suspicious stares like in the teacher's lounge earlier.“What a long time!” Jihan immediately approached Olin with a cheerful smile. “Where have you been? The second lesson bell is about to ring, you know!”Olin smiled slightly. “To the health room. My hand needs more attention.”Jihan looked at Olin's hand, which had been neatly wrapped with a fresh bandage. “Are you okay?”“As you can see, I'm still alive,” Olin said casually as he sat on his stool. He took out a notebook from his bag and looked at Jiha

After leaving the teacher's room, Olin let out a long sigh. He knew that the problem was not completely solved. But for now, he felt quite relieved. There was still some time before the first lesson ended, and his hand was starting to feel a little sore from the bandage that had started to come loose.“I forgot to change it this morning,” Olin muttered as he looked down at his hand. With a leisurely pace, he decided to head towards the medical room. The school hallway was quite quiet, with only the occasional sound of teachers teaching from the classroom. But when Olin passed the student council room, his steps stopped. The door of the room was open, and the voices of several people having a discussion could be heard clearly.“This year's spring festival needs to be more festive than last year's,” a woman's stern voice echoed from inside the room.“We need more sponsors,” said a man. “The funds available now are only enough for basic decorations. If we want a bigger stage, it's imposs

“I will meet that young man later. I need to get my business done this time,” Olin said with a low grumble. There was no other choice but to step towards the teacher's office. He glanced at the smartwatch in his hand. Not a single message had come in yet, indicating that the person he relied on could solve all his problems today.Olin stepped into the teacher's room with a calm face, barely even showing the slightest worry. In his heart, he had already guessed what would happen. The three girls must have reached the teacher's room first and reported what happened. And this time, they didn't just play with words like before, but brought their parents to urge the school.“I wonder what they said as a form of complaint, huh?” asked Olin with a giggle. He couldn't imagine how the three of them would look when they complained. Either to their parents or to their teacher this morning. At the door, Olin paused, took a deep breath, and smiled a little. “Relax, Olin. It's just a small problem.

“What on earth are you doing, Olin?” asked Helena with a half frustrated sigh. She massaged her temples in disbelief at what Olin had done. When her only child came home, his uniform was dirty. His hands had plaster on them in several places. Not to mention his hair was sticking up in a mess.“Nothing,” Olin replied with a wide grin. “Let's just say I fell down.”“How can that be?” snapped Helena, who was trying her best to be patient with the 15-year-old girl. Olin was a gentle child who disliked excessive activity outside. Let alone playing in the mud, even getting her uniform a little dirty, Olin didn't like it. But... I don't know what made the girl change. Was the puberty of today's teenagers very different from what Helena had experienced? The woman really couldn't understand why times were moving so fast. She could not keep up except to try to understand and assist Olin as best she could.“Mommy doesn't need to be angry.” Olin chuckled. “If Grandma Vera says, Mommy will get pre

Olin let out a rough sigh. His knuckles hurt and looked red. There were scratches on his palms but he did not care. His sharp eyes gazed at his three opponents who were down and moaning in pain.“Damn, I should have been more gentle,” he grumbled. She slightly twisted her wrist which was in a bit of pain. What was making her feel this much pain? Oh... the blow he gave the red-haired girl felt too tight.Today should have gone on as usual. There was no need to dirty his hands and make a slight injury. What would she give as an excuse to her mother and father later? Not to mention his aunt who was very fussy but eager to support him-if she knew what was happening, Olin was one hundred percent sure that tomorrow... would be a very horrendous day at school.“I wish you hadn't messed with me,” muttered Olin as he took one more look at the faces he had battered. “You're wasting my time.” He sat down on one of the piles of unused items around the back of the warehouse.Olin reached under her

“How did you meet the Edison family at Andy's school? Don't they have references to schools that are much better than Bright Star Academy?” Luna massaged her temples tiredly.Andy had been in his room for some time. Luna felt guilty for being late picking up the boy. But what the heck, she had to take care of the cake shop she managed.“But they don't recognize me,” Luna muttered immediately. “That's much better for us.”“Grandma,” called Andy carrying his school bag. “Help me with my homework.”“Come here.” Luna patted the seat at her side. “I'll come with you to do your homework.”That evening, Luna sat in the living room watching Andy busy with his homework. The boy, though only seven years old, looked so serious. Luna couldn't stop being grateful for Andy's good growth, though there were many worries she kept in her heart. One of them was Andy's encounter with a little girl at the school event this afternoon.Luna knew who the Edison family was. Their name had caused a stir with t

“What are you doing, darling?” asked Michael as he handed Helena a cup of her favorite latte. They were in the lounge room that had been transformed into a private library, where Helena often spent time just sitting and enjoying her coffee and books.Michael saw Helena looking thoughtfully at a photo album that she had made as a memento. Starting from the first month of pregnancy, whatever the moment, Michael always captured it. He said that memories can disappear, but they can be recalled when you look at the photos of when they were created.“I look so pale here, don't I?” said Helena, pointing to a portrait of herself wearing a pastel-colored brocade dress. She smiled slightly as she rubbed her flat stomach. Her eyes looked puffy and her face was not as cheerful as usual.
