Michael was taken aback. He quickly scanned the lobby and its surroundings. His legs felt tired. He knew he needed to work out more to build up his stamina for this. But for now, he didn't really have time to think about it. Michael needed to find Helena. He wasn't sure what he was going to talk to her about, but at least he knew where Helena was.

What a pain in the neck his father is! He should have told him from the start what he was doing around the Tan family!

"Oh, no!" Michael gave his hair a quick shake, annoyed. As he looked around, he couldn't see any sign of the woman with the bright brown eyes, even though the area seemed big and empty. "It's not like she could have just disappeared without a trace, right?"

He let out a long sigh.

"Doctor," said one of the nurses who happened to be in the same corridor as Michael. "What's the problem?"

Michael gave a little smile. He quickly pushed Helena out of his mind. "Nothing, thanks." "I just needed to get some fresh air."

This is the second book I find the misuse of he and she very confusing and a little annoying…. And no warning when talking about past events, etc

I like the story but the continued mix up of the he and she pronouns makes it confusing to read.
