Chapter 17

Justin teared up.

He was truly homeless now.

Without any friends and lovers.

Justin suddenly remembered his university graduation, a time when he got into trouble, ended up in the hospital, and was eventually kicked out of home by his father. It was Stella who came to his rescue and helped him out of that situation.

Before, Stella would readily come to his side with just one call or message.

"Stella..." Justin sat at my doorstep for a long time. When he saw me come out of the house, he quickly stood up and called out to me, his gaze fixed on me.

I paused my steps, looking at the miserable Justin, and was stunned for a moment.

Justin got beaten up, his face bruised, his eyes devoid of their usual sparkle, and his clothes stained with mud.

"Mr. Reed, do you need something?" I asked expressionlessly.

Hearing the words "Mr. Reed," Justin's eyes welled up with tears as he looked at me.

He knew there was no chance for him to get back with me.
