No longer kids

Emma's POV

Alex threw all the excuses he could think of and the Alpha had a counter solution for everything. After trying unsuccessfully a few times, the man finally gave up and left.

“I will call you.” Alex waved goodbye at me and closed the door behind him.

As soon as Alex said that he would call me, Draven, who was walking towards my bedside muttered under his breath, “We will see.”

I almost choked on my own saliva when I heard him say that. Maybe Draven thought that he was being very subtle with that but I managed to hear it.

He did not seem to notice that I had heard him and pretended to be oblivious as well. But I could no longer handle the flowers sprouting within me.

I felt like I was sucked back to the time when we were still in college and how I used to get happy by something as insignificant as him acknowledging my greetings. The feelings erupting inside me were uncontrollable and the fact that we hate each other was slowly slipping out of my senses.
