Found You

Andrew's POV

While touring the office with the department heads, I couldn't help but be intrigued by the employee – a skin mask in the middle of the workday! It took all my willpower not to burst into laughter right then and there.

As I planned changes to boost the sales of the company, my mind kept wandering back to the girl from last night. As I sat in my luxurious office, I found myself absentmindedly touching my lips, still tingling from the kiss last night. I wanted to find the girl, but I didn't know how and it kept complicating things for me. All I remembered was her face.

I was lost in my thoughts when I heard a knock on the door, "Who is it?"I called out.

"May I come in Sir?" a familiar voice replied from the other side, I instantly recognized it. "You don't need to have my permission, Malcolm," I smiled, welcoming him inside. Malcolm, my secretary, and my only true family.

"So, how was the tour?" he inquired," I heard you're going to make some changes here?"

"It was good. Yeah, I think it will be good for our sales," I replied, my mind still buzzing with ideas.

"Andrew, this is your company now. Many people have been leeching off from this company since there was no one to handle it. Mr.Reynolds is old now and he doesn't keep a check on what's happening in the company," he continued, "But now that you're here, I know everything's going to be fine".

"But I can't do it all alone," I said, knowing that I needed someone to be beside me. I was still new to this company and I had to have someone aware of how things worked here.

"And that's why I'm here for you," he ruffled his hand through his hair and smirked.

"Oh, I almost forgot," he added, "this brain of mine. All the files have been placed on your desk. It has all the information of our employees that work here, just in case."

"Thanks, Malcolm, I'll go through them and see what I'm dealing with here," I said.

"Okay, then I'll leave you to it. I've got to make some appointments for you," Malcolm said as he stood up from his seat and I nodded.

"Just call me if you need anything," he said as he closed the door. I was grateful to have him as my secretary, we knew each other well.

As I was left alone, I wanted to start working right away, hoping that all the work might help me forget about the kiss and the girl from last night.

I glanced at my desk where all the files were placed, I needed to know everything about the company to make things work. I walked towards the desk and sat on the chair, adjusting it to my comfort. A pile of files was placed on the desk, I took the one placed on top and started analyzing each and everything of every single department in this building, from the fabric to the designers and the directors.

Some of the department heads looked suspicious, they hadn't been working here for long but they had built numerous houses during the time of their work here. I had to look into the financial files as well, as I went through them, I discovered that a lot of data of the money was missing. It made me doubt the authenticity of the heads working here.

As I was looking through the employees' information, a name caught my eye Emery Brown- the girl wearing the facemask. It made me chuckle, recalling the incident. Everyone had pictures along with their data information, but this one didn't have any picture attached to its file.

Normally, I wouldn't have cared and just turned over the page, but I was intrigued by her. Why was she hiding under her facemask, I wanted to confirm that it wasn't a case of fraud, or of stealing someone else's identity. So I called Malcolm, wondering if there was any other way to access the employees' data.

"Malcolm, is there any other way of accessing the data of people working here," I asked.

"Yeah, you see the laptop on your desk? It has all the data stored in it, including the one missing in the files."

"Okay, let me check," I said as I opened the laptop in front of me.

"I'm sending you the password, just call me if it still doesn't open".

"Sure, thanks," I say and then hung up.

Malcolm sent me the password, along with the name of the file in which the data was stored. I clicked on the file and searched for Emery's name, and what I saw on that screen was something I never imagined.

Emery was the mysterious girl who kissed me that night, I couldn't believe my eyes. But the moment I saw her picture appear on the screen, I knew it was her. She had the same eyes, the same face. I recognized her in an instant.

So this was the reason why she was hiding her face behind the facemask.

"So, you think you can hide from me Emery Brown," I smirked, "after making me so miserable".

I kept thinking about her all night, thinking of ways to find her again and here she was, right in front of my eyes.

No wonder, she was being so awkward around me and that facemask, I won't lie it was a good disguise. But I've found you now and I'm going to make you feel exactly how I've felt.

She doesn't know yet that I have already discovered her truth, and I'm going to play like this for a while. She doesn't want me to know who she is, but that's okay, I'll just play along.

I couldn't help but feel a rush of serotonin inside my body, I finally found her and now I wasn't going to lose her at any cost.
