Is He Flirting With Me?

"Hey, I was starting to think you were gonna stand me up" he jokingly says as he sees me walk around the corner and walk towards him, I laugh at him

"now why would I do that?" I ask him as I stop in front of him with a smile on my face

"I don't know you tell me miss busy schedule" he teases me as he wraps his arms loosely around my waist and pulls me a little closer towards him

"Speaking of which, I currently have somewhere else I need to be" I say as I loosely wrap my arms around his neck

"Well then, we wouldn't wanna waste anymore of your precious time, would we?" He says as he leans his forehead on mine

"Okay, you win" I say laughing at him as I move a little away from him because the intoxicating scent of his cologne is making me wanna do unholy things to him

"At what?" He ask suddenly serious and staring deeply  into my blue eyes

"Our flirting battle?" I say but it comes out as more of a question as he steps forward and connects our foreheads again but this time I don't pull away

"Who said I didn't mean what I said?" He asks as his lips were centimeters away from touching mine

"I- I um- uh" I stuttered trying to say literally anything coherent as my eyes were slowly closing from euphoria and lust.

We've never been in this situation with each other before.

It's usually just harmless teasing and flirting but...I don't really know what we were thinking.

I look behind his head so that I don't drown in his captivating grey eyes but I get spooked when I see Emma

Oh no she can not see me with him. She'll get the wrong idea.

"Shit" I say then quickly pull him into a random corner before Emma can glance our way

"What are you doing?" Easton asks confused as I peek over the corner so I know when she leaves

"There's this cheerleader named Emma who has a crush on you and she'll castrate me if she sees us together" I say facing him after I see her get into a white G wagon

"Of course there is" I hear him whisper with a hint of annoyance in his voice, I decide to change the subject before he could go into detail about his dilemma

"How was football tryouts?" I ask him while I move to stand in front of him

"You're looking at the schools new quarterback" he says looking genuinely happy which warms my heart

"I knew you could do it" I say smiling at him

"How about you? How were cheer tryouts?" He asks

"You're looking at the schools co-cheer captain" I say smiling at him

"So does this mean I can count on you to cheer me on at games?" He says smirking and placing his hand lightly on my hips

"Woah slow down there tiger, your sister also made the squad so I only cheer for the whole football team" I say smiling as he pouts his lip

My phone vibrates and I see that I got 2 new messages

One from Stella and one from Emma

I open Stella's first

Stella- I swear to all that is fucking holy that if you don't walk out here in 7 seconds I'm leaving

I then open Emma's message

Emma- Do you wanna hang out after school tomorrow?

I decide to text Emma back

Amelia- yes, I'd love to.

I turn towards Easton to see him watching me carefully and intently.

"I have seven seconds to get to your sisters car before I'm left here" I say smiling at the whole situation

"If she leaves you I'll just drive you, it's no big deal" he says

I smile at Easton as a way of saying thanks then head towards Stella's car. I place my cheer uniform, pom poms, and backpack in the backseat then make my way to the passenger seat to see a very pissed off Stella

"Hey" I say trying to lighten the mood, she turns towards me and glares so hard that I feel uncomfortable

"Where were you?" She asks as her voice gives off irritation causing me to nervously gulp and slightly turn away so she wouldn't know I'm lieing

"I had to get some homework then I stopped to talk to a friend" I say half truthfully

I considered Easton and I frenemies because one day we're nice to each other and the next we're literally snapping at each other for every little thing. That's why when we fight Stella has to either hide all sharp objects or lock us in a room because apparently we 'look like we're going to murder each other.'

"Why are you lieing to me? I can tell when you're lieing" she says roughly pulling her hair out of frustration

"Fine I didn't get homework, I was just talking to Emma the whole time about the squad and lost track of time" I say to her and stare her in the eyes since this was closer to the truth than my earlier story

I visibly see her relax and sigh

"I'm sorry, it's just that I thought you were blowing me off to go hang out with your new best friend" she says looking down at her intertwined hands

"What new best friend?" I ask confused

"Emma" she says sighing

"I would never leave you for Emma, especially if I already planned a sleepover with you" I say smiling as she looks me in the eyes then hugs me

She pulls back with a suspicious look in her eyes then smells me again

"You smell like my brother" she states looking at me with a disgusted face

Oh shit.

I forgot I hugged him. Make up a lie. Oh man I'm gonna be drowning in lies.

"He was chasing me with his cologne trying to spray me, I guess he got some sprays on me" I say shrugging my shoulders even though I was freaking out on the inside

"He claims he was trying to make me smell better"

"Ugh he's such an asshole" she says as her expression changes from disgusted to sympathetic.

We driving the short distance to her house in silence.
