Carlacia and I sat on the couch with a tub of vanilla ice cream and two packets of Oreo. We decided to watch a movie on the television and relax after unpacking and setting up our rooms. We were halfway through the movie when we heard a knock on the door. Carlacia and I stared at the door, then at each other.
"You expecting somebody?" I asked her.
Carlacia frowned as she shook her head, "Not at all."
We both stood up and walked towards the door carefully. I looked at Carlacia who nodded her head at me and I opened the door, only to find a guy dressed in a pink hoodie and a pair of jean trousers standing outside.
"Oh look it's the hallway girls!" The boy squealed excitedly while I raised my eyebrows up in confusion.
"The who girls?" Carlacia asked cocking her eyebrows up in confusion.
The boy waved it off, "You know, your mini welcome party in the hallway? Everyone's talking about it and that's what they are calling you now, the hallway girls."
"Yeah, I don't think I want to be called that" I said shaking my head at Carlacia who was eyeing the guy at our doorway.
"Anyway" The boy said as he came inside our room while I shut the door, "There's a big party that's being thrown by one of the upperclassmen and we are invited."
A party? Hell no! I thought to myself the same time Carlacia let out an excited squeal and she clapped her hands jumping up and down in excitement.
"You game?"
"Of course we are" Carlacia answered for both of us.
"Nope, you go I'm not going" I spoke up shooting Carlacia a pointed look.
"Uh why not?" Carlacia and the boy asked at the same time.
"Uh maybe because I don't want to go to a party some unknown guy told us about" I pointed out looking at the boy who opened his mouth agape.
"Uh rude much?" The boy asked cocking his hips and I shot him a small smile in apology, "And my name is Trevor."
"And now we know him" Carlacia said and I sighed at that.
"I don't know, I'm still not going."
Carlacia let out a groan as she came towards me, "Why not? It's a party!"
"I don't know Carla maybe because bad things happen at parties, the influence of alcohol, drugs, people staring at you, thinking about all those stuff just makes me uncomfortable" I said with a shrug and I was right. Nothing good ever comes out of college party.
"Ugh! Come on Abigail," Carlacia groaned, "This is our first night in NYU, I mean there is no denying the fact Joseph Morgan is one hot stuff but do you really want to spend your first night in college watching The Originals or go to a party?"
I didn't even need to think about my choice twice, "Yes!"
"No you don't!" Carlacia argued, "We are going to the party, it's a good way to mingle with people and besides who knows? You might find inspiration for your novel."
"Oh you are an author?" Trevor smiled at me and I shook my head at him.
"Not yet, but we are a work in progress" Carlacia said hooking her arms around my shoulders, "But seriously though, you've got to come with me to the party."
"Carlacia I can't, besides I've got..."
"Just hear me out first" Carlacia cut me off, "I know you are scared and all but I promise you, you've got nothing to worry about, I'll be with you and never leave your side."
"Hmm, I don't know" I said chewing my lips nervously.
Carlacia sighed at me, "Cone on Abs, it's a Friday night so let's be wild, hmm?"
I stared at Carlacia who was looking at me with her hopeful brown eyes and she was pouting at me. I let out a sigh and shook my head at her, "Fine, let's just go anyway."
"YES!" Trevor and Carlacia squealed excitedly.
"But I can't promise to be any fun" I told them but I don't think they heard me because they were too busy squealing in excitement and I smiled at that.
"Okay, give us few minutes to go get ready!" Carlacia announced to Trevor as she dragged us towards the bedroom. I let out a sigh as she led me away already talking about what outfit would look good on us.
I so wasn't looking forward to this night.***
Few minutes later we were standing in front of the house where the party had already begun. We arrived here in Trevor's car and looking at the swam of bodies that was dancing in the house I kind of wished I was back in my apartment with nothing but Niklaus Michelson to keep me company.
"Yep, this is it! The life!" Carlacia said breathing in the air.
"Yeah, I'm not so sure about that" I said looking around at the house. Just as I spoke, a guy stumbled out of the house, leaned over the rails and began vomiting on the ground.
Yup, definitely not the life! I thought to myself as we all groaned at the sight.
"Let's just go in, shall we?" Trevor asked and we both agreed, immediately rushing inside the house.
As soon as we were inside the house, we were handed drinks in plastic red cups. I looked down to see it was a red content with ice inside it. I looked up to see Carlacia was already drinking the content of the cup and so was Trevor. I raised the cup to my lips to drink but as soon as the drink touched my mouth, I immediately spat it back inside the cup and made a face.
"What? What's wrong?" Carlacia asked concernedly.
"Ugh! It takes like shit!"
"Hellooooooo" Trevor drawled out, "That's the whole point of alcohol, it taste like shit at first but when it hits, you are too shitfaced to care."
Carlacia busted out laughing along with Trevor while I rolled my eyes at the two of them. "I will drink to that" She said clinking her drink with Trevor's while I just shook my head at the both of them.
"Okay, enough mopping around, time to hit the dance floor!" Carlacia squealed collecting my drink and handed to a passerby.
"Uh no, I'm good..."
"Nope, we gotta dance, where did the girl dancing in the hallway of Clark's residence go?" Trevor asked looking at me in disbelief.
I shrugged at that, "Well no one was supposed to see that and it was a one time thing anyway."
"Nah uh, she trippin' we definitely dancing" Carlacia said with a note of finality and before I could protest, she was already dragging me to the living room which had been turned into a dance floor.
I stood against the swarms of bodies gyrating to the loud music blaring from the speakers. Carlacia and Trevor already found a rhythm and they vibed to 'Nights' by 'Snow tha Product ft W.Darling.'
Carlacia smiled at me as she placed a hand on my hips and began making me follow her rhythm. I smiled at her and shook my head at her, but I followed her and soon I was dancing without a care in the world. I felt the beat of the music pulsate through my body. I swayed my hips and lifted my hands up in the air as I danced with my friends who were laughing and dancing along with me. Some guys came to meet Carlacia and she'd dance with them but when they got too close she'd pull away and dance with another guy. Other guys came to dance towards me but Trevor must have sensed how uncomfortable I was, because he stuck close to me to which I was grateful for. The song changed and it was some beat I didn't recognize, so I decided to go for a bathroom break. I yelled to Trevor over the music and he nodded his head before going off to dance with a guy in the corner. I weaved through the army of sweaty bodies till I finally made my way to the stairs where some people were having a full out make out session. I averted my gaze till I finally climbed up the stairs and stood in the hallway. Now the real problem begins, finding a empty room so I could use the bathroom. With a sigh I headed for the first door on my left. Please be empty, please be empty, please be empty! I chanted all over and over again as I twisted the door knob but of course my prayers weren't answered because I was met with the back view of a guy with a hairy ass and a girl sucking him off. I think I might have been traumatized!"Yo, what the hell?" The dude yelled at me.
"Sorry!" I yelled an apology as I shut the door quickly.
I shook my head as I tried to clear the image from my head and continued down the hall. I didn't open any more doors because I didn't want to see another traumatic event but I still needed to use the bathroom though, like what's a girl gotta do to find an empty bedroom in a house party?
I was about to try another door when it was suddenly opened and I was yanked into a dimly lit room. My back was pushed against the door and a hand clamped tightly against my mouth. What the hell? I thought to myself as I struggled against my captor.
"Hey, hey, calm down" The captor said in a velvet deep voice, "It's just me."
Just me who? I tried to speak but it came out muffled.
"It's me Abigail, you know who I am" The captor said then peered closely at me and stormy grey eyes I'd recognize anywhere greeted me.
Nicholas? She was here! Abigail Howard! I'd recognize her anywhere, those green eyes of hers, her smile, the sound of her laugh! I couldn't believe that she was right here in my house. The moment she entered the house and began dancing was when I saw her. I was in the kitchen watching her dance with her friends, or at least I hope one of them was. The Bieber wanna be guy that was dancing too close to her made me want to go over there and punch him in his smug face. I didn't even know she came to NYU, I didn't know she got in! Looking at her from the kitchen everything about her seems different. She had grown into a woman now, no longer the stiff skinny fourteen year old girl with glasses, now she had curves in the right places and she seems more confident and very beautiful, in that innocent kind of way. I know I wasn't the only one who thought that too, every warm blooded guy in this place thought so, the way they circled around her like flies proved it but she paid them no heed. I wonder if
(14 years ago)I played with my doll on the playground during recess in school. It was the new barbie doll that came out last week which they advertised on television and I asked my parents to get for me. I smiled as I brushed the doll's hair and twirled her around in her pink glittery dress. I was still playing with the doll when suddenly it was snatched from me. I looked up only to find Billy Evans, the big bully in our class standing in front of me a smirk on his face. "What have we got here?" Billy asked twirling the doll in his hand. I stood up from the ground, "Give it back Billy.""No, it's mine now!" Billy said tucking the doll in his arms. "No, it isn't!" I said looking at him in confusion, "It's mine!""Oh yeah? What are you going to do about it?" Billy sneered at me as he waved the doll in front of me but then the arm suddenly fell off, he broke it!"Oopsies." Billy said with mock sympathy and just like that, I snapped. I sat down on the sand and started wailing loudly, n
The rest of the week passed by in a blur. It was just the same routine for me. Wake up, go to class, the library, then come back home to sleep. I declined all invites to hangout with Carlacia and Trevor. Even though they repeatedly ask if I was okay, I tell them the same thing, that I was fine but I know they knew I was lying. I was sitting one day in the dining hall eating a sandwich with a can of soda when suddenly two trays of food slammed in front of me. Startled, I looked up to see Carlacia and Trevor standing in front of me. "Alright fess up." Carlacia said as she sat down on the bench with Trevor, "What the hell is wrong with you?"I immediately pulled a smile on my face, "Hey guys, what's up? I'm absolutely fine and I....""Girl, don't play with us." Trevor cut me off before I could lie to them again, "We know you not fine so don't you lie to us, besides you've had that look all week.""Look? What look?" I asked looking at both of them with a puzzled look on my face. "Like yo
Shit! How could I have forgotten Nicholas was claustrophobic? I chastised myself as I stared at Nick who was now hobbled on the floor, still panicking. I needed to calm him down but how? I asked myself still staring at Nick who looked like he was having trouble breathing. Deciding to do something with it, I moved towards him. "Hey, hey, Nic, look at me." I urged as I knelt in front of him but he wasn't looking at me, "Come on Nic, look at me" I tried again but I don't think he could hear me because his eyes looked like he was somewhere else and I knew exactly where that was. I wasn't going to let him win. "NICHOLAS!" I yelled this time and that got his attention, "Look at me, it's not real okay, it's not real" I told him and he was shaking his head, his lips moving but forming no words. I reached for him again, grabbing his hands. "He is not here, he can't get to you." I told him and he seemed to be looking at me with uncertainty. "I won't let him, okay? I promise." I told him and
Trevor found Carlacia and I jobs at the bar where his boyfriend's uncle works. The bar is called 'Marty's' which was written in front of the bar in a big bright neon sign. We were so excited for our jobs. Though working in a bar isn't the first idea I would look for a part time job, but the pay was very good. If I gather enough money, I should be able to get myself a new phone by the end of the week. It was a busy Saturday night and my friends and I were working our butts off. We get a lot of customers during weekends, so it was a full house. Some of the customers flirts with us but Carlacia and I turn them down. Carlacia loves the attention she gets though. She flirts with them but I notice when it gets to serious, she turns them down immediately. "You know you are leading them on, right?" I asked Carlacia who was winking at a blonde haired guy who grinned at her from his table. Not taking her eyes off from the guy she answered. "It's not my fault they keep coming back."I smiled at
NICHOLAS Pain. I crave pain like an addict would crave drugs. It's a feeling I was also used to. I've gotten so used to it to the extent I go numb, It doesn't hurt anymore. I got used to the pain ever since Jack, my dipshit of a father smacks me around when I was little. I've learnt how not to feel pain and at the same time I needed the pain because pain is much better than having feelings. I used to lock myself up in a room and inflict pain on myself. Even when my dad was gone, I still needed the pain. My mom caught me one day when I was busy burning my arm with a lighter. The next day, she took me to a therapist who told me other ways I could feel pain without actually hurting myself. He suggest some exercises for me but my favourite of them was the punching bag. I'd punch the bag till my knuckles hurts and my blood roared in my head. I got some sparring partners but that quickly ended. Apparently, my fighting could get a little intense sometimes. "What? Kincaid?""What does he want with her?""You know this guy Abby?"All around me the questions were asked by my friends. But I just stood still, my fists clenched. I raised my eyes only to see the bouncer was waiting for my answer while shooting a bored look at my friends who were still interrogating him."I'll go." I announced surprising my friends.Ryan let out a gasp. "What? Abby you can't be serious."I turned to shoot him a small smile. "I am. I'll go see him.""Fuck this." Carlacia cursed from behind me as she stood in front of the bouncer. "If she goes, we are coming with." She said with a note of finality in her tone and my other friends nodded their heads in agreement. The bouncer merely arched a brow up at us. "Miss Abigail Howard was the one who Kincaid requested for. If you all are so eager to meet him, I suggest you book a ticket.""Why you fucking big headed..." Carlacia spat moving towards the bouncer but I pulled her back before she makes a huge mistake."It's ok
ABIGAILMy friends all stared at me with their mouths agape. It was a free lecture day and we were busy lazying around in our room when Carlacia questioned me about Kincaid. Trevor also decided to ask the question too. I knew I couldn't hide it from them anymore so I decided to tell them. Though I omitted some truths about Nicholas's past. It wasn't my story to tell."So let me get this straight, yeah?" Carlacia asked, "Kincaid is the guy you grew up with when you were little but you guys got separated because you had to transfer to another school and now you guys are finally back together, schooling in the same university?""I think that pretty much sums about everything." I nodded my head at her while she blinked at me."Holy shit!" Carlacia cursed taking in the information.Trevor turned to look at me. "Wow, but why did u not tell us about this? That you knew each other."I shifted nervously on my seat, not sure how to answer that. "We weren't exactly on good terms, we are still no
Oh my God! Nicholas was kissing me!He was kissing me! And goddamn he could kiss! His lips were pressed firmly against mine as we moved in perfect sync. I moaned when Nicholas angled my head so he could kiss me better and I wrapped my arms around him, bringing him closer to me. Nicholas let our groan from his chest as he suddenly pushed me back against the couch not breaking the kiss. His lips were soft but they kissed me firmly. Our tongues danced with each other, exploring each other's taste."Abigail." Nicholas breathed out my name as he moved to my neck.I gasped as Nicholas assaulted my neck with kisses. I fisted my shirt in his hands as he pressed himself against me, careful not to let his all his weight rest on me."Ahhh Nic..." | breathed out when he reached up to cup my breast, swiping his thumb across my nipple. They were super sensitive to his touch, in fact my whole body was. Nicholas returned back to kissing me and I moaned as I brought my legs up needing him close to him
Nicholas didn't come home and we didn't know where he went either. I tried calling him several times but he didn't pick and soon I was directed to the voicemail. We cleared out the food and the garden then went outside to go and wait for Nicholas but he didn't show up. We were all worried and I have no idea where he could have gone."You...you don't think he went back to New York, do you?" Gavin asked as we waited outside for Nicholas.I shook my head at him. "No, no, Nicholas wouldn't do that."Grace nodded her head at me. "Yeah, he wouldn't leave her behind at least." She motioned to me and I frowned but didn't say anything."Alright then, I'll ask some of the guys to be on the look out for him." Gavin suggested but I shook my head at him."Please don't do that." I told him, "He will come back. Just...just give him the space he needs."Grace sighed warily. "She's right Gavin, just don't worry about it.""Okay, just call me when he gets back." Gavin said pulling Grace into his arms.G
ABIGAILIt was almost evening when Gavin showed up. We decided to have our food outside in the garden. We had decorated the garden before Gavin showed up. We had brought out some flowers to put on the table to make it pretty. Next we had decorated the whole garden with string bulbs. It was very beautiful. Gavin was a man in his mid forties. He was actually cute. He had a blonde buzz cut and we'll trimmed beard. He had startling blue eyes and he had dimples whenever he smiled. When he showed up I had to admit I was a little wary of him at first. I love Grace like she was my mother and I'll do anything to protect her. But Gavin came and brought her a bouquet of flowers and a bottle of wine with him. He was also nervous when he took in the full house and I saw the way he looks at Grace when she wasn't looking. I knew right then that he was okay, not like I had any say in it though. I turned to look at Nicholas who had been surprisingly quiet after the announcement. I keep expecting hi
Turns out where Nicholas wanted me to go with him was to his house. Today was his mother, Grace's birthday and I wished he had told me earlier so I could have gotten her a gift or Esmerelda. It's been years since we last saw each other and I didn't want to show up without a gift. But Nicholas assured me it was fine. That Grace and Esmerelda just wanted to see me. Trevor and Carlacia made a fuss about dressing me and what I should wear. They had ransacked my wardrobe till they finally found the perfect dress for my date, even though I had told them repeatedly it wasn't a date. They didn't answer me and dressed me up instead. I was dressed in a thin strap white gown with blue flowery patterns on it. The gown complimented my figure and it stopped somewhere around the knees. It also had a small slit at the front. I wore a pair of white socks and white sneakers. Carlacia had done my hair, she had made it so my brown hair cascaded in waves down my back. Trevor had helped with the makeup,
