Karim's return from the Hinder lands brought with it very worrying and disturbing news, painting a dire picture of the situation unfolding beyond our borders. As he recounted his journey and the harrowing truths he had uncovered, a heavy silence settled over the room, thick with the weight of his words.

I was livid as I wondered why the soldiers did not intervene so quickly before things escalated. Why would they be this callous as to allow their borders to get threatened by a group of Bandits who they know had been infesting lands and stealing goods and crops?

The Captain explained that it was the battle for leadership that consumed the Generals and that it would be good if we consolidated our forces with those of General Masa.

“Karim, what did you learn?” I ask

The arrival of the messenger from Nashville brought a momentary pause to our preparations, his urgent message casting a shadow of uncertainty over our plans. Alpha Jo's summons was unexpected, and the timing could not have been worse. I was wondering what or who gave him the authority to summon Alpha’s, anyway Border Town was not known for an Alpha leadership. With the threat of the bandits looming large on the horizon, every moment was precious, and every delay could spell disaster for our people. I do not honor such invites gives us the edge we need for our safety.I exchanged a glance with Karim, a silent understanding passing between us as we weighed our options. On one hand, the council of Alphas held the promise of unity and collective action against the bandits, a chance to pool our resources and strategize a coordinated response to the growing threat. But on the other hand, it also meant delaying our mission to the Hinder lands, leaving our people vulnerable to further attacks

I looked at the twelve warriors who had chosen to accompany me. Each of them brought unique strengths and skills to our group, and their loyalty and courage were evident in their determined expressions. I was glad we did not lose anyone in the first battle and maybe we do not have to lose anyone if Karim does his job very well. Here are the twelve, including Karim:KarimKarim, the seasoned hunter, was the leader of the twelve. His keen senses and extensive knowledge of the land and its creatures made him an invaluable asset. With a rugged appearance and a calm demeanor, Karim was a man of few words but profound wisdom. His ability to track and anticipate the movements of the enemy was unmatched.Leif

  • I AM ALPHA AND OMEGA   33: ALONE TO HINDER LAND

As the early morning light filtered through the trees, casting a golden hue over our camp, I called the twelve warriors together for a final meeting. Their faces, etched with determination and concern, mirrored my own resolve. We had prepared meticulously, but the gravity of what lay ahead weighed heavily on us all."I told you I had a plan," I began, my voice steady but filled with urgency. "The situation in the Hinder lands is dire. Karim's reconnaissance has revealed the full extent of the bandit threat. But instead of launching a full assault, I propose a different strategy."I paused, meeting each of their gazes, drawing strength from their loyalty and courage. "I will go alone to confront the leader of the bandits. If I can eliminate him, it may destabilize their ranks and save us the bloodshed and loss of life that would come

  • I AM ALPHA AND OMEGA   34: NOT YET OVER

The first order of business was to establish a stable government. The Hinder Lands had been leaderless for too long, and the absence of a strong, fair authority had allowed chaos to take root. We needed to set up a council of elders and counselors to govern the land, ensuring that power was distributed and that the voices of the people were heard."People of the Hinder Lands," I called out, my voice carrying over the murmurs of the crowd. "We have come together to bring peace and order back to your homes. Today, we will establish a council to govern fairly and justly, and we will appoint a leader to guide you through these challenging times."The crowd cheered, their faces lighting up with hope. Among the twelve, we had already discussed potential candidates for leadership. After careful consideration, we decided to place Torin, a se

  • I AM ALPHA AND OMEGA   35: A STEP AHEAD

The celebration in Border Town was short-lived as pressing matters weighed heavily on our minds. As night fell and the townsfolk began to retreat to their homes, my inner circle and I gathered in the council chamber to discuss the invitation from Alpha Jo.Captain Hyde, Karim, Zaza, and the other members of our group sat around the large wooden table. The flickering candlelight cast dancing shadows on the walls, adding to the somber mood."We can't ignore this invitation," I began, breaking the silence. "Alpha Jo has summoned all the Alphas to Nashville to discuss the bandit threat. We need to decide how to respond."Zaza was the first to voice her concerns. "Ava, we have to consider the possibility that this is a trap. We've already learned that the bandits are receiving orders from Nashville. If we walk into this meeting unprepared, we could be walking into a dangerous situation."“Come on Zee, I can take care of myself,” I said not knowing how it came out of my mouth.“I don’t want

  • I AM ALPHA AND OMEGA   36: HANDLED

Masa thought he had the upper hand. Believing we had left for Nashville, he launched his attack on Border Town, confident in his imminent victory. What he didn't know was that it was all part of my plan. We had spread the word of our departure to Nashville as a strategic maneuver, anticipating his move. This deception was crucial in drawing him out and catching him off guard.I did not know whether the executed plan could succeed, but I had little or no option. I was not going to hand over the town to a very arrogant and greedy general who only capitalizes on his king’s weakness. As Masa's forces attacked, chaos erupted in the streets of Border Town. His men poured through the gates, their confidence high, expecting minimal resistance. But Captain Hyde and our soldiers were ready. They had fortified the town and positioned themselves strategically, awaiting my signal. From my vantage point, I watched as Masa's troops advanced. My heart pounded, but I remained focused. This was our mo

  • I AM ALPHA AND OMEGA    37: YOU NEED ME

Alpha Jo stood before me, his eyes wide with shock, as disbelief grew into his every feature. For a moment, it was just the two of us, facing each other across the expanse of our shared history."I can't believe it's you," he said, his voice barely above a whisper. "Ava... my wife. How is this possible?"I felt a pang of pity for him. His confusion and mixed emotions were palpable. I thought he was saying he knew who I was. It looked like he only wanted confirmation. He had not expected to see me again, certainly not in this guise as Alpha Ayar or rather an emissary from the King of Border Town."How did you survive? And how did you become an emissary?" His questions were laced with a mixture of awe and sadness.Taking a deep breath, I began to recount my story, feeling the weight of the past press upon me. "After the council's judgment, you banished me from the pack. I was alone, with nothing but my wits and my gift to keep me alive. The world outside was harsh, and every day was a

  • I AM ALPHA AND OMEGA    38: SUSPECT

Maria was not shocked to see me. As Alpha Jo’s sister, she held a commanding presence in the room, speaking with authority that seemed to turn the other Alphas into her puppets. Every word she uttered was met with nods and murmurs of agreement. It was clear she wielded considerable influence over them. The grand hall of Nashville, usually a place of unity, felt like a stage where Maria pulled all the strings.I stood, my gaze fixed on her. "This strategy is wrong," I declared, my voice cutting through the murmurs. The room fell silent, all eyes turning to me. Maria’s expression hardened, a flicker of annoyance crossing her face.Alpha Garin, already known for his quick temper, rose from his seat. "Who are you to challenge our decisions?" he demanded, his voice booming. "We’ve followed Maria’s guidance because it’s sound."I met his glare, without any fear or intimidation. "I am the only one here who has actually faced the bandits and defeated them. I know their tactics, their weakness

I turned to Maria, who still stood bound and defiant, though her eyes now held a glimmer of fear. "Maria," I said, my voice firm but not unkind. "You will be imprisoned for your crimes, your fate decided by the council of Alphas. You will not be allowed to sow discord among our people ever again."Maria’s shoulders sagged in defeat, the last vestiges of her defiance crumbling as she realized the finality of her situation. She had lost everything, her power, her influence, her future. As Maria was led away, Alpha Jo stepped beside me. "You've united us in a way none of us could have imagined," he said quietly. "And now, we follow you."I looked at him, seeing the sincerity in his eyes, and nodded. "This victory is just the beginning," I replied. "We have much work to do to rebuild, to ensure that our lands remain safe and prosperous. But we will do it together, as one."The Alphas, now united under a single banner, dispersed to their respective territories, carrying with them the knowl

When the final letter was written, sealed, and set aside, I leaned back in my chair, feeling the weight of the night pressing down on me. The letters would be sent out at dawn, carried by trusted messengers who would deliver them swiftly across the lands. The responses would come in due time, but I had no doubt that there would be resistance. There always was when power shifted so dramatically. But this time, there was no room for doubt or hesitation. Our survival depended on our unity, and any who stood against us would be dealt with swiftly and decisively. As I extinguished the candle and rose from my desk, I felt a sense of calm settle over me. In that moment, I felt the weight of all that had transpired, all

The grand hall of the palace was filled with an air of anticipation. I stood at the head of the room, my face hidden behind a mask crafted to conceal the remnants of the beast that had once overtaken me. Though I had regained control, the scars, both physical and emotional, remained. Before me stood the council, the elders, and the leaders from the Hinderlands, Riverlands, and Borderlands. Each of them had been summoned here to witness a new chapter in our shared history, to hear the decisions that would shape the future of our lands. There was a noticeable tension in the air, the weight of the moment pressing down on everyone present. In the depths of the forest, I crouched low, my senses heightened and my body still buzzing with the raw energy that had surged through me during the battle. The moonlight filtered through the dense canopy, as I tried to regain control over the beast within me. My breathing was heavy, and my mind was a whirlwind of thoughts and emotions.Karim and Shocy approached cautiously, their footsteps barely making a sound on the forest floor. They had been searching for me, and though I knew they meant well, the beast inside me still surged with a fierce, untamed power. When they finally found me, their eyes filled with concern and relief."Thank the gods we found you," Karim said, his voice steady but laced with worry. He stopped a few paces away, respecting the distance I needed. "You need to come back with us. You can't stay out here."I turned to face them, my eyes glowing with a fierce intensity that made even the most seasoned warriors uneasy. The beast inside me was still close to the s

  • I AM ALPHA AND OMEGA   115: VICTORIOUS BUT ABSENT

As Karim and his men escorted the freed captives away, I watched from a distance, feeling the weight of my actions and appearance. I knew that my transformation and the intensity of the battle had left a mark on me, both physically and emotionally. The woods seemed to offer a sanctuary from the chaos, and I made my way deeper into the forest, seeking solace in the quiet of the natural world. The sounds of the forest were a welcome contrast to the chaos of the battlefield, providing a moment of calm amidst the turmoil. I took deep breaths, trying to steady my mind and regain a sense of balance. In the distance, I could hear the muffled sounds of Karim and his men leading the captives to safety. The knowledge that they were being cared for and protected was a small comfort, even as I wrestled with the lingering effects of the battle and the toll it had taken on me.As the shadows of the forest closed in around me, I found a moment of peace in the solitude, though the weight of what lay

Maria’s voice cut through the air, sharp and commanding, as she prepared to deliver the final blow. The crowd quieted, their anticipation palpable as they awaited our deaths. She was relishing this moment, savoring the victory she believed she had secured.I closed my eyes, drawing on the power I had been holding back, feeling it surge through me like a tidal wave. This was the moment. This was when I would show them all what it meant to cross me.“I’m sorry, Jo,” I whispered, my voice barely audible above the crowd. “I’m sorry for everything we lost, for the chances we never took. But I won’t let this be the end. Not for us. Not today.”He squeezed my hand, his grip strong despite the bonds. “Then let’s do this. Together.”With a final breath, I opened my eyes, my vision sharpening as the power within me surged to the surface. The time had come to turn the tide, to take back what was ours. And as the executioner raised his weapon, I unleashed everything, shattering the bonds that hel

  • I AM ALPHA AND OMEGA   113: SECOND CHANCE

The dim light of the cell flickered as I sat in the corner, my body battered and weak from the days of torment. Every breath was a struggle, each movement a reminder of the pain that coursed through me. But as I closed my eyes, I forced myself to push beyond the physical agony, to reach deeper into the well of power that lay dormant within me.My mind drifted to Zaza's words, the fierce determination in her voice as she urged me to find my strength, to believe in my abilities. Her faith in me had never wavered, even as Maria sought to break us both. And now, as the cold stone walls of the cell pressed in around me, I knew that I had to tap into that strength, to harness every ounce of power I possessed. With a slow, deliberate breath, I began to focus inward, drawing my consciousness away from the pain and fear that threatened to consume me. I reached for the gifts that had been passed down through my bloodline, the abilities that had always been there, waiting for me to master them.

The cell was dimly lit, the flickering torches casting shadows that danced on the cold stone walls. The air was thick with the scent of damp earth and despair, a fitting atmosphere for the fate that awaited me. My body was weak, my spirit battered, but as the heavy iron door creaked open and Zaza stepped inside, a spark of hope flickered within me.She moved quietly, her eyes scanning the room before settling on me. Despite the dire circumstances, Zaza carried an aura of calm and determination that I had always admired. Her presence was a balm to my weary soul, and for a moment, I could almost forget the weight of the chains that bound me.She knelt beside me, her hands gentle as they touched my arm. “Ava,” she whispered, her voice a soft but urgent plea. “You must find strength, now more than ever. Your gifts… they’re still within you, even if you can’t feel them right now.”I looked at her, the exhaustion in my body making it difficult to muster a response. “I’m not sure I have anyt
