Chapter 90: But...

Aurora POV

Suddenly, the plates in my hand didn't feel weightless like they did seconds ago, but heavy like bags of rocks and cement, so much so that I felt their weight would pull me to the floor in a crumpled heap if I didn't let them go. I put them on Doc's tray before I let them shatter to the floor. My eyes swarmed with concern, realising after a minute of standing looking at a wordless Doc that he had no answer for me, or rather, he didn't wish to be the one to answer my question.

"Where is Hugo?" I asked again, watching as Doc placed the tray on the table beside us to turn and look at me with a sigh, something in his eyes telling me to brace myself for his answer.

"Aurora dear," He started to say, his manner gentle, like he was nervous about my response.

"Screw this!" I snarled, storming over to Finn, who slept lightly beside Lara. Pushing his feet off the bed to jolt him awake, I stood before him, arms crossed across my chest, hip popped out like the madam I knew I was being
