Alec POV

"We have all seen the news; Alpha Azure and his meathead brother have lost their little pet!" A blonde-haired male recited into the camera; his eyes were dark and angry as they glared into the lens, no doubt in the hope of provoking a reaction from Hugo and me. He looked familiar, but I couldn't place him. He wasn't from my pack, at least. I must have met him when visiting boarding packs, but the fact I could not put a name to the face told me he was of no consequence.

"Well... I have found her!" He laughed, turning the camera around to show a female on the floor of what looked like a dirty, dark parking lot. Moving the camera closer to the female on the floor, I instantly recognised the dark brown hair and tanned skin, but the giveaway was that she was still wearing the denim shorts and top she was wearing when she left town.

"Aurora!" I whispered,

Hugo POV "Fuck knows, my wolf has moments where he thinks he can take on the world, but he can't! The bastard forgets that he is not invisible. And for some reason, his eyes change from black to red; I think he misses our mates.” Jason answered, as my eyes zoned in on the red eyes of his wolf nervously, almost missing what he said. "Mates?" I asked, arching a brow; I know it wasn't unheard of for wolves to have more than one mate during their lifespan or even at once. But I had never met anyone happy in an open relationship with more than one female. "Yeah, man, it's complicated as fuck though!" He laughed, shaking his head, obviously losing himself in thought. "Women, huh!" I laughed, but I couldn't help envying the lucky bastard; he had no idea how lucky he was, even if it was complicated! To have two females who loved and worshipped him when I was over here alone, my mate lost, but honestly, even if she wasn't, she despised me and refused to show me a shed of affection. She ne

Alec POV Standing in the corner of the room, pouring myself another considerable measure of whiskey, I downed it in one gulp and refilled the glass with a deep sigh. "Careful! It will impact your judgement." Maxwell advised as he headed into the room, his son and my brother following him, chatting quietly; it looked like whatever they were saying was getting heated. "It's probably the human crap he likes the taste of so much! It won't affect him!" I listened to Hugo updating our visiting Alpha. Picking up the bottle, I flashed it at Hugo with a smile that said, 'Wanna bet'. "Help yourself, gentlemen, we are all gonna need it!" I muttered, my eyes landing on Maxwell, who nodded softly, both he and I knowing this would be a long afternoon and the visiting Alpha and his son wouldn't be going anywhere soon. Maxwell and I had made a deal that meant they would be staying until we got Aurora back, at a substantial cost! "Shit, this must be bad!" Hugo muttered, walking to my side and

Alec POV My eyes tightened watching Jason step between the stare-off between his father and Hugo, nodding for me to continue, apparently not appreciating the turn of events either and wanting to move on quickly in an attempt to defuse the tension. "Whatever you have found, it's not good, I assume. Or we wouldn't be here; we would be going to get your girl! So, what are we gonna do?" Jason asked, my lips pulling up a little at his statement. "We?" I asked cautiously; my eyes trailed to my brother, who was shaking his head at Maxwell, holding his hands up in a gesture of submission, one we all knew would be short-lived. "Yes!" He snapped, shrugging, "I don't know if you noticed while you have been up here drinking whiskey chatting with my father, but your brother is not healing because his wolf is in a pissy. He might be able to fight like the best of us...." "Better than you dickhead!" Hugo cut in, but my eyes remained locked on Jason's green hues. "But, he needs someone to wat

Aurora POVHearing the heavy footsteps creek along the old hallway floorboards outside my room; my heart pounded wildly in my chest. There were only a few reasons anyone walked along the top floor of the house; it was either to come to torment me, or if they were feeling gracious, they would throw me their leftovers. Although most of the time, it was days old, stale and riddled with mould; I ate it like it was a 5-star meal! Never had I known hunger like this! And then there were the daily visits by Luke, with the fucking darts he shot at me from the doorway, laced with wolfsbane and fuck knows what else. I haven't heard from Ava or even felt her since the night we tried to escape. Making me think there had to be long-term effects to the amount of shit they kept putting into my system. Given that I had barely healed from the beating the night in the parking lot and numerous others, they enjoyed giving me whenever they were bored or pissed off. I was starting to wonder if I would eve

  • Hunting Their Defiant Luna   Chapter 45: A Shower

Aurora POVRunning my fingers up my achy neck, the dried blood from last night stuck to my skin, making the hairs at the nape of my neck pull uncomfortably. I felt like utter crap, dirty in so many ways, tormented by hunger and disgust. Running my tongue over my teeth, I almost gagged at the filth I felt coating my pearly, not-so-whites. "As if I am gonna die looking like a gutter rat!" I groaned through an insanely dry mouth, shaking my head in defeat, Luke's words still ringing in my head. I knew I had no one to blame but myself for Hugo and Alec not coming to save me, but it didn't make the sting of being abandoned any less painful. Chewing the inside of my lip to stop the tears from falling, I leaned my head back against the cool metal of the radiator and let myself ponder for a moment how different things would have been if only Alec and I had been allowed to stay married. We could have all been so happy if Hugo had found a real mate and not obsessed over Alec and I. "I wonder

Hugo POV"Come on, Piggy! Give me the name of the traitor, and this will all be over!" I sighed, dropping the blooded blade on the table at my side. I had kept the bastard down here for over a month, attached to a device of my making that kept him alive no matter how much I tortured him; whenever his heart gave out, it zapped it back to kicking again! Not even death would stop me from getting the info I wanted!"Going once." Picking up a corkscrew, I twirled it between my fingers, waiting for a response."Going twice!" I grinned, attacking his knee with the corkscrew and twisting it; the room filled with his shrill screams. "Ah, music to my ears!" "I'd have stuck it in his eye!" Jason ridiculed from behind me, but I could hear the tension in his voice and knew he wasn't enjoying this; however, as my eyes gazed over at Maxwell, I noted that he was! "That would have pierced his brain! He is no good to me then!" I responded to Jason as Piggy stopped squealing and spat at me, chuckling

  • Hunting Their Defiant Luna   Chapter 47: I Had Been Played.

Aurora POV I knew I was playing a dangerous game; there was every chance Simon would see straight through my manipulation. I just hoped the fact my body was naturally responding to his touch and presence sold the story, no matter how dirty it made me feel! We had been standing under the shower spray for a few minutes, and I had allowed his fingers to roam over my hips and up the planes of my back without a word. I was enjoying the shower and couldn't believe how something as simple as a shower felt so damn amazing! Leaning my head back, I took deep gulps of the water, letting it heal my tight throat and fill my empty belly. "So, how long have you been working for Luke?" I asked, marvelling at how much better I felt already. Keeping my back to Simon, I arched a brow, feeling his hands pause in their pursuit of my curves. "I don't work for him!" He snapped, gripping my hips and pulling me back into his muscular chest, drawing a groan from my lips. "But he is your boss?" I asked

Alec POV"Are you out of your damn mind?" I roared as Hugo threw the phone onto the table in frustration, my mind running a million miles an hour. I knew he was angry at how things had gone down with Maxwell being called in, but I knew what I was doing, and I shouldn't have to explain it! I am the fucking Alpha!"You always were rash! But fuck!" I screamed, running my hand through my hair. "It is usually just your head on the line! But Now!! Your impulsiveness might have just cost us our only chance at getting her home! Without fucking bloodshed!" I bellowed, grabbing the glass off the side and lunging it across the room. "What's wrong with bloodshed?" Hugo asked casually, something passing between him and Jason that made my blood boil. He was up to something, and I - his Alpha was being left out of the loop. "There is a time and a place for it!" Maxwell interjected, snapping my head around to look at him, not appreciating his input."Yeah, like now... or when your mate and mother o

I soothed myself repeatedly, feeling his hands move up my calves and pull her knees up. I kept my eyes fixed on the ceiling and attempted to will myself out of my body. I was brought back to cold reality when I felt hot breath on my inner thigh followed by his hot tongue, licking. I hadn't realised that I had yelped until he told me to calm down. "C..c..can we just get this o..over with. Please," I stammered, my throat dry. Maxwell lifted his head up and looked at me over my body, his eyes alive with a fire I didn't feel comfortable with. "You don't want me to enter you dry, do you?" With that, he reached down between my parted thighs and cupped my mound. "Or are you already wet?" My mouth desperate for saliva, I simply shook my head in answer. "Then I need to make you a little wet, so I don't hurt either of us. I could spit on the e

Maxwell smirked, his lips thin and tight as he stared at me with an evilness that made me shiver unintentionally. Looking over at Violet, my stomach dropped, seeing the sick smile plastered on her lips. "You're enjoying this!" I growled, and her lips pulled into an even wider smile. "Seeing the bitch that caused absolute chaos get her comeuppance? Absolutely!" She snarled nastily. Looking back at Maxwell, I shook my head of the tears I felt falling from my eyes, hoping to play on his emotions. "I want a blowjob and a fuck!" He declared unashamedly. There it was- His terms! I knew he would have wanted something like this, but hearing him say it made everything feel much more serious and real! As if sitting on a bed surrounded by my own vomit and self-hatred as one of the men I loved hung from chains on the TV with his back ri

  • Hunting Their Defiant Luna   Chapter 115: You Can't Be Serious?

Aurora POVStretching out across the softest of beds, my body ached almost as severely as my head throbbed. Opening my eyes slowly, I allowed them to adjust to the bright lights of the sterile room. I was alone, and judging by the goose pimples that had broken out along my stomach, I was naked. "Ava?" I called out to my wolf, feeling alone inside my own head."Ava?" I asked again as I lay back on the plush mattress. I sighed as I realised whatever was making me groggy, was also affecting my wolf.Closing my eyes as I rubbed at my temples and tried to recall where I was or how I had gotten here, but I came up blank, except for the image of my reflection and chains. Something that seemed oddly familiar yet foreign to me. "A baby changes everything!" I heard a female voice snap from somewhere close by. Moving my legs slowly, not wanting to make any noise, I pushed off the bed. Regretting it the second my legs touched the floor, they felt hollow and utterly useless. Gripping the nearby

  • Hunting Their Defiant Luna   Chapter 114: Or Die Trying!

Alec POVWe continued the next few hours in silence until we reached large gates that made ours look like child's play. I watched Jason's eyes gloss over as he communicated with his pack, and the doors opened. "Very fancy!" James scoffed as we followed the winding trail up to a large gothic-inspired castle that wrapped around acres of land. He wasn't wrong, this place was fancy! Which made no sense; why would Maxwell go after my pack when he had something so grand at home? Parking outside the entrance, I took a deep breath and hoped we would leave here with the answers we all needed. "Mother!" Jason beamed as a middle-aged woman stepped from the doors, her arms wide as they enveloped him. Her tanned skin and dark hair flowed freely in the light wind as her gigantic son swallowed her tiny frame in a bear hug. A smile split my face, seeing him scoop her up and spin her around, hugging her tightly, not caring that we all stood around watching. "Mother, meet Alpha Azure.." I offer a cu

  • Hunting Their Defiant Luna   Chapter 113: Two Weeks Fuckers!

Alec POV"How can it have been ten days, and we are still no closer to finding my brother and wife!" I roared, slamming my fist into a nearby wall, the plasterboard shattering under the force, causing rubble to slide down the wall and coat my hands. "Ex-wife!" James corrected me. The fucker was truly starting to get on my nerves, but I ignored him, reminding myself that he was my oldest friend and instead looked at the destruction I had caused with a sigh. It wasn't the first hole I had made in the walls of my office over the last few days, and I doubt it would be the last. Frustration ate at me with each passing day, knowing that Aurora and Hugo were slipping further and further from me. Luke had given us a name: Maxwell! It didn't take much to get information from the pair once Jason heard his father's name slip from our prisoner's mouth. I had thought James was brutal when it came to torture, but it seemed I had underestimated Jason entirely. We now knew Maxwell headed the traf

  • Hunting Their Defiant Luna   Chapter 112: I Remember Everything!

Hugo POV--Ten days later--"How much wolfsbane did you give him?" I heard Violet's panicked voice bounce around the bare walls of my prison cell. I fought the urge to smile. I had purposely remained still all day and worked to slow my breathing right down. Even when the bastard took that whip to my back again to wake me, I refused to make a sound; I just let my body rock back and forth from the impact. It wasn't easy, when all I wanted to do was rip their inners out through their nostrils. But there was more at stake than revenge! I daren't risk a glance at the blacked glass panel, knowing whatever I saw through that window may push me over the edge and ruin my plan. Over the last ten days I had watched them pull enough fingernails and toenails off Aurora to destroy that particular method of torture for me. The joy he took in stripping her naked to humiliate her and aggravate me in any other circumstances would have led to me removing his dead, dull eyes; lucky for him, the chains k

  • Hunting Their Defiant Luna   Chapter 111: Blood Eagle!

Alec POV "You look like shit!" I snorted, looking into the filthy cell that held the objects of my anger at this point in time."They don't smell much better!" James gagged mockingly, making me chuckle."Let's change that!" I smirked. Opening their cell, I walked in with James close by, both of us stepping over the shit and discarded clothes. Usually, I avoided such filth. My suits cost more than most people earn in a year, and until Aurora arrived, my appearance was the only thing that gave me joy. "Do you remember that time your father kept those guys down here so long he forgot about them?" James asked, unlocking the chains behind the pair, the heavy metal clinking as it hit the floor, the sound making our human guest in front of James jump. Like the pussy he was!"The whole packhouse stunk of rotten eggs, but we couldn't work out why until we came down here to do something and found them in a cell." He laughed, gripping the human male by his hair; he pulled him from the cell wit

Alec POVStaring at the pyres as the flames consumed our dead and carried them off, I felt my jaw ache from how tightly I had it clenched. My mind was swirling with the events of the last few hours. It felt surreal that I was currently saying goodbye to a handful of my pack members after a demonic attack on my pack. I had heard of these kinds of things happening occasionally throughout history, but never would I have thought that we would be on the receiving end of it. "Here, man." A deeply set voice offered from beside me, placing a cell phone in my hand. "It's all set up, the same number as before, just in case your brother reaches out." James remarked, handing me an opened bottle of beer with a nod."I don't want this!" "I never said you did, but fuck knows you need it. You are giving off mega approach me and die vibes!" He scoffed, crossing his arms over his chest as he watched the flames rise dramatically, crackling through the air. "You approached!" I shrugged, ignoring his c

  • Hunting Their Defiant Luna   Chapter 109: She Is Alive!

Hugo POVI had never been squeamish when it came to blood, but I guess when you spend a large part of your life shifting into a werewolf or torturing those who displease you, it made no sense to be scared of the stuff. I couldn't exactly be the Beta if I passed out every time I got a damn paper cut. But something about the way I was watching blood slide down Aurora's porcelain throat as she paled had me feeling weak-kneed and sick to my stomach. Her words would haunt me for as long as I lived, and I hoped that wouldn't be long because the idea of a world without her in it again was too unfathomable to bear. Plus, having to tell Alec I had let her get killed broke my heart just as much as watching her face slowly pale. Those rosy cheeks turned purple as her eyes closed; I could only imagine the way her heart pumped viciously, trying to get blood around her body for this fucker to drain it. Her arms seemed to relax into the chains, and her body slumped forward; he was killing her; that
