Far from the sight of battle was a small village. This village was located in the north, and belonged to the Northern Empire. It was a village whose borders marked the borders of the Northern Empire and was popularly known as the ‘Edge of the World’ since there was no other human settlement after it. It was a peaceful village that hadn’t seen war in the longest time. The villagers were going about their duties as usual. Farmers, traders and hunters went about their daily activities with great urgency to prepare for the coming winter. At least, that was until a few hours ago. Now the bustling village was lifeless. There was not a man in the field nor a woman in the markets. The children who usually run around the streets were nowhere to be found, leaving only the fleeting wind as the loudest noisemaker around. In one of the homes – one made of straw and mud – a young boy of about 4 years, nestled in his mother’s arms as he gazed through the only window of the house. His face was cover
*Roar*The Sky Shattering Panther was a fearful beast to behold. Although it wasn’t its true form staring down on Aegeus, he could feel his heart pounding in fear when he stared into those red eyes. It was akin to staring into the depths of the abyss. There was a heaviness that he couldn’t explain that filled his heart, and even with Berserk activated, Aegeus could not escape from the fear that the large creature commanded.Aegeus tried to recall Aegis. His Soul Weapon belonged in his Soul Space. Although it had been knocked away, as long as Aegeus could feel his weapon, he could call it back to him. Aegeus was easily able to locate Aegis. The connection between the two remained strong, and he could feel that his weapon had been transported to the Northern Empire. His aura latched onto Aegis, and he tried calling it back to him.*Thrum*Aegeus’s expression changed hearing the gentle humming of Aegis in his heart. The silent whistling of his Soul Weapon informed him that he couldn’t ca
“What is going on?” General Siwa wondered seeing a red aura being emitted from Aegeus’s body. The red in her eyes failed to match up to the red in his, and when he raised his head and looked into her eyes, she felt her entire frame shake. She knew those eyes! These ones were as red as the crimson of the blood red sea, but they were just as familiar as the yellow orbs that had condescendingly told her of her unworthy when she tried to enter Zandor several thousands of years ago. Her soul shook as the majestic aura she had never once forgotten filled the planet and reminded her of her place.*Roar*The loud roar of the Sky Shattering Panther was like a drop of honey in a land of bitterness and pain. It sweetened her tongue and woke her up. “That’s right. He died long ago. This isn’t their planet anymore, and nothing can stop us.” General Siwa reassured herself. Her eyes regained their confident hue, and her mind was swiftly cleared of the images of that dreaded god. This boy may have t
A great torrent of energy flooded the entire planet, with Aegeus at its centre. The World Will of Zandor screeched in eager excitement as an ancient power lost to the Promised Land reminded it of its lost heritage. The inhabitants of the planet all felt a strange force tugging at their heartstrings. This power was so great that it was daunting and should have had them trembling in their boots. However, for some strange reason that even the gods may not be able to decipher, they felt at peace. They felt a great stillness come over them; they felt calm. This calm wouldn't last long though; for once the battle began, nothing would be still."This power..." General Siwa's eyes were filled with trepidation as she took a small step back. If Aegeus's gaze was the only thing that reminded her of "that man", now there was another factor. She had met him only once, but sometimes once was all it took to leave an impression. And boy did "that man" leave an impression all those years ago. The domi
Aegeus's eyes flashed with inspiration. His mind was a mess and his reasoning was clouded, yet he could feel the spirit of war bubbling within him. His power as a Berserker filled his bones with strength and made them tougher than the most precious of stones. His muscles were akin to the thick hide of an Ascension Beast - a beast of divinity - and the blood that run through his veins were as precious as gold. The rubies lodged within his eye sockets gleamed as a great thirst for battle filled his bones. His arms ached, but he was a Body Wielder! Pain, persistence and endurance were his bread and butter! Unless his bones were crushed to dust and his muscles torn to bits, he would still fight! In one fluid motion he pulled his arm back and threw another punch! There was no technique involved, neither did Aegeus resort to using a Glow or a Breath. In his current state his mind could not think of such things. This was merely the most primitive of actions. This was a fight for dominion and
*Cough*The great General of the True Goddess; the Goddess of Disharmony; it was she who showed some weakness. Supine on the ground she lay, her jaw dislocated with an arrow stuck in her chin. The pointed end of the arrow had pierced clean through, passing through one side of her cheek and appearing through the other. Her face should have felt hot due to the blood running down it, but there was a vast coolness that gnawed on her wound. It felt like her jaw had been doused in ice, and the great general knew that whoever had shot the arrow, was an Ice Wielder! The ground on which she lay mocked her miserably, drinking her precious blood greedily. Her Panther armour wasn't the same as it was before; for the breastplate had a small dent on it. This was the power of the other arrow! The area around the dent felt hot. It was almost as if her breastplate had been heated with the powerful flames of hell itself; for General Siwa felt as though her heart itself was on fire! The one who released
*Boom*A flaming arrow smashed into General Siwa once again, smashing her into the ground below. The reinforced floor of Zandor was like a sack of bricks that refused to be broken, and her spine ached from the impact. Her eyes blurrily gazed into the distance. She could see nothing, but her instincts had been sharpened after years of battle, and she could feel something huge coming. Gathering the little energy she could summon, she pushed herself off the ground and rolled several feet away. Immediately she moved away, an ice arrow crashed into the ground with great force!*Boom*The powerful blast spoke volumes of the power behind the arrow; for the arrow had lodged itself into the ground of Zandor! This was the very same iron floor that couldn't be dented by General Siwa, an actual goddess! Such was the power of the ice arrow!General Siwa had barely gotten out of the way when she felt an explosion of power right in front of her. Her vision was still not stable, and the hazy patches
General Siwa could feel the scorching heat approaching, and she knew that there was no way she'd be able to stand after this. Panther was near it's breaking point, and her energy had been depleted so deeply that she couldn't refuel Panther's energy. This was the work of Zandor's Will. Battlefield Mode greatly limited General Siwa while increasing the abilities of her enemies tremendously. If it were not so, even with the help of Zandor's World Will, there was no way the fight would have been this one-sided. Although death approached, General Siwa felt no fear. She was a goddess, but before that she was a Divine Servant. Although there was a strong Scholar on the team, he would not be able to kill her. She wasn't just a Divine Servant after all; she was also a goddess. She was a false goddess, but she still had a pseudo Godhead. To kill her Abe would have to find that as well and destroy both simultaneously. Logically speaking, he would only be able to do one of the two with his streng
