Far from the sight of battle was a small village. This village was located in the north, and belonged to the Northern Empire. It was a village whose borders marked the borders of the Northern Empire and was popularly known as the ‘Edge of the World’ since there was no other human settlement after it. It was a peaceful village that hadn’t seen war in the longest time.

The villagers were going about their duties as usual. Farmers, traders and hunters went about their daily activities with great urgency to prepare for the coming winter. At least, that was until a few hours ago. Now the bustling village was lifeless. There was not a man in the field nor a woman in the markets. The children who usually run around the streets were nowhere to be found, leaving only the fleeting wind as the loudest noisemaker around.
