I Am Mane Harbinger: Part V (Unexpected Development)
Feeling the blazing heat coming her way, Ancestor Fire swiveled away to avoid a direct confrontation. She was an Ancient with control over fire, which meant that flames shouldn’t cause her any discomfort. For Mane’s flames to be capable of making her this uneasy, it meant that they were strong enough to burn her. So she made the wiser choice.
*Whoosh*
The fire sword light flashed past Ancestor Fire ominously, its furious light a darkening presence in these streets. With the ferocity of a starving lion it crashed into a mansion several meters away.
*Boom*
The barrier guarding the mansion rippled when it received the full brunt of Mane’s strike. A few cracks appeared upon its surface, but ultimately it didn’t break. And slowly those cracks began to heal.

The armor around his chest was broken into several pieces and a large blue mark could be seen from the visible skin. Ancestor Origin reappeared through another space portal. But that one was much farther away from Mane than all the others. The oldest ancestor landed on both knees with an audible thud as jets of blood escaped his nostrils and mouth. His eyes were hazy and his breath shaky, and his entire body shook in pain and misery. Once his entire body made it out of the space portal, it became obvious why he was in so much pain. The old relic had depended on his eyes to manipulate souls so much that he had no idea how souls worked. If he did, he would have known that a Soul Scape couldn’t be escaped by simply finding the exit. One had to break themselves out by using the power of their own soul. A red robe hugged the shadow gently as it slowly gained its features.The only parts exposed by the robe were the hands, feet and head. The first to become visible were the hands. Soon the feet followed. And then the facial features of the shadow were revealed. If Mane could see the person he would have been stunned. For this was Ancestor Origin! This was his true soul! Once it was over Mane slumped to the ground in exhaustion. Though his part seemed the simpler between himself and Odin, he was still facing someone much more powerful than he was. The suppression alone took most of his strength to overcome. And that last strike had been performed with every bit of soul strength he could muster. Odin’s figure appeared next to Mane’s like a specter. The God King of Asgard watched his descendant with a gaze that spoke of his impression of the boy – he was proud.
