I’ve called and left a million messages for Addie and no answer. Tonight, was supposed to be our girl's night out but I guess I'll be going alone. Addie has a habit of making plans but not actually going through with it which is why I'm one of her only friends. I got off the couch and headed to my bathroom for a quick shower. I started ripping through my closet to find something to wear. I probably have way more clothes and shoes than necessary but hey a girl has got to look good.

I finally chose a form fitted red top with spaghetti straps and a short black faux leather mini skirt. Now what to do about shoes? I spotted my favorite red stilettos and grabbed them. I headed to my vanity and decided to leave my blonde hair hanging down my back in ringlets and put on a little bit of makeup. That should do just nicely, I said to myself. I headed out the door and hoped that eventually Addie would show up at McGinley’s. I jumped in a cab and gave him the address.

Before I knew it, we were there. I paid the cab driver and headed into my favorite bar, there would be plenty of hot guys in here tonight and I’d probably end up going home with one. I'm not necessarily a slut but I don't do relationships. Addie is the only person I've ever confided in about what happened to me and really, I don't think I'll ever be able to have a healthy relationship again. I sat at the bar, and I'm taken back to six years ago when I met Typhon.

He was everything a girl dreams about, he was hot, had a body to die for, rich, and the sex was amazing. I was totally in a trance with him, and I never saw what happened next coming. He started getting jealous, I couldn’t see my family or friends, he told me what to wear when and then the hits started coming. I was bruised all the time but never where anyone could see them if I was walking down the street. He was very careful that way.

I knew that I had to get out, but I just couldn't bring myself to leave him, and he said that if I ever tried, he would kill me. One day when I got home from the store, he was angrier than I've ever seen him, and he beat me until I was almost dead. I knew then that I was going to die whether I stayed or went, and I had to at least try. I called my older brother and told him what had been happening. He wanted to kill Typhon, but he knew with his connections that he would never get even close.

We made a plan and within a few hours I escaped, moved to a new city, and met Addie at the grocery store. She was my first and only friend here. She helped me get through a lot of the trauma that I had experienced. I'm brought out of my memories by a handsome man clearing his throat next to me. "Can I buy you a drink please?" he said. "Sure, why not, I'm waiting for my friend though and she should be here soon". "Ok, I'll keep you company until she gets here how about that?" "Sure, why not".

We started talking and he told me his name was Dave. We were just talking about random things, but I kept looking at the door hoping Addie would walk in. I've been having nightmares lately and I needed to tell her about them. I finally saw her come in the door and she rushed over to me asking about sitting in a booth because she needed to talk to me. I agreed and we headed over to one of the only empty ones. Dave was watching me and I'm not sure if I liked it or not, but he seemed harmless.

I focused back on my friend. She's telling me about this crazy dream that she had and this mark she had on her chest when she woke up. I think she just got a little drunk and got a tattoo but then I remembered this was Addie we were talking about. If it had been me then it would be easier to believe. The door swung open again as her chest started to light up around the tattoo and she said that the guy on the left is her mystery man. I can't seem to keep my eyes off the other one though. I take a breath in, and I smell pine like I’m walking through the forest. I can’t seem to figure out where it came from.

He was the most gorgeous man that I had ever laid my eyes on. He was easily over six feet tall and even though he had a long black coat on I could see he was very built. What I wouldn’t do to strip those clothes off. In an instant though he's being dragged back outside by the other guy and Addie is losing her mind. She headed to the door after them and a big man got in her way, I just giggled because I knew she was going beat the crap out of him and she did.

Not many people know this, but she trained in self-defense for a long time and even had me join a few classes. The man was back inside the bar, and he looked like he was going to kill someone. The other one was laughing, poking his head in. I walked up to her trying to get her attention because we were supposed to be having a girl’s night and I didn't get to talk to her about the nightmares that I have been having but she's pulling away from me to go with guys she doesn't even know.

I locked eyes with the black-haired man with swirling blue eyes. An emotion ran across his face, but it was quickly replaced with something cold. I'm not sure why but I'm hurt by this. Something was pulling me towards him, but I couldn’t do that. I went back to the bar where Dave was sitting and decided that I'll just have to call Addie tomorrow and talk to her but for tonight maybe if I get drunk enough, I won't have nightmares. If I do maybe I won't be able to remember them.

I don't know how many drinks I've had but I'm flirting with Dave and suddenly, I started feeling sick. I needed to leave I know that. I said goodnight to Dave and the bartender and tried to get outside to get a cab. If I could get in the cab and get home, I knew I would be fine. I'm getting worse by the second and I now realize that this was a very bad idea. I should have left when Addie did, but I just couldn't deal with everything tonight.

I started walking and hoped that I would run into someone that would help me or I'd see a cab waiting for a fare. I didn’t get far before someone grabbed me and started dragging me towards a car. I tried to scream and tried to fight but it was no use. I realized that something had to have been put in my drink. There's no way I should be feeling like this otherwise. I was shoved into the back of a vehicle and then I saw Dave's face. "Where are you taking me?" I slurred out. " There's someone who must miss you very much because they paid me a ridiculous amount of money to find you and to make sure that by any means necessary, I brought you to them.”

I died inside immediately because there is only one person on the planet that would do something like this and it's Typhon. I started to lose consciousness and Dave looked at me and said, "Don't worry sweetheart I'm sure my boss will be very happy to see you again". He had a sick grin on his face and the last thought that crossed my mind was that I was going to die. I would never be able to escape him again and then nothing but darkness.

Typhon I headed into the conference room of my security company, The Damascus group. I hate having to go to these meetings, but as the owner, it is necessary with certain clients. I mostly have bodyguards that get hired out for rich and powerful clients, but I do have some mercenaries. I have my second in command with me as always, Henry, who is a smoke demon. He pays more attention to the clients than I do. I built The Damascus group from the ground up and I only employ super naturals because, well, this company is a cover for something I enjoy much more. I sit down at the huge table next to Henry and the client starts complaining about his problems and why he needs a guard. I'm not listening anymore but zoning out, caught in a memory of long ago and how I became this person, well, not a person but the horrible demon I am today. I'm in my room and I can hear the screaming downstairs as it gets louder. It's my parents as always. I'm twelve years old and even though my parents f

Adalyn I ended up leaving the bar with Rainn and his brother, but we don't even make it to the car before we are in trouble. We were surrounded and I'm stuck in the middle with no idea what to do. Rainn looked at me with regret and said that he didn't want me to find out this way before his body changed and a skeletal appearance shimmered over his own. His brother changed as well; they took their fighting stances. I was sure that I was seeing things and, yep, I'm officially crazy. What have I gotten myself into. I decided the best option was to try and make it the last few feet to the car and hope it was unlocked. I took off toward it when one of the men claiming to be a demon came at me. I dodged most of his attacks, but he put me on the ground. He started stalking closer to me and I just reacted and ended up sending him flying with a pulse of energy somehow. I'm freaked out. My mind is racing and is having trouble coming to terms with what is going on here. I needed some air. My l

Rainn She had the reaction I was hoping for when she saw the house that would eventually be her home. I couldn't wait for her to see the rest of it, but first Liam and I had to get Malik settled in the cells until we could question him. I had carried her into the house, taking in her scent every step of the way. I realized now that I was already addicted to her. I put her down when we got inside even though I really didn’t want to. "Adalyn, why don't you explore the house a bit while we get Malik downstairs." "Ok sure", she said. We made our way through the kitchen and down the stairs to the basement. The basement runs the entire length of the house. We remodeled it a few years ago and split it up into different rooms. We have a gym with every kind of machine imaginable. Then, it's the armory where we keep any weapons that we might need for any mission, an interrogation room, and then finally, through the last door is the cells. We only have three cells down here, but they all serve

Adalyn My mind was reeling when Malik told me that I was a dream walker. I've never felt like there was anything special about me. I was a normal girl and nothing interesting ever happened to me. "I can prove it", he said. "How can you prove that I'm a dream walker?" "Easy, one of you get something for her to lay on, and then we will begin." Rainn and Liam looked at each other like they were trying to decide if this is a good idea or not. "Guys I need to know and if this is the only way to find out then I want to do it." Rainn looked down at me with so many emotions in his eyes but the most prominent one is fear. He moved closer to me and wrapped his arms around my waist. He looked over at Liam and nodded his head, then put his head on mine and smelled my hair. "Why do you keep smelling me?", I asked, as my cheeks turned pink. He moved so his lips were right by my ear and whispered, "because you smell like a field of wildflowers, and it reminds me of home. It calms me." My cheeks tur

Rainn I was completely shocked by everything that happened while questioning Malik. It seemed like she needed some space to process everything, so I decided to give her the spare room next to mine so she could get a good night's sleep. I wasn't sure that I could keep my hands off her for much longer, everything about her lured me in. It seemed like she was disappointed in my decision for her to stay in the next room and when we got to the room and I went to say good night to her, she pulled away from me. I thought maybe she was still processing whatever she saw, so I left her alone and went back down to the kitchen with Liam. When he saw me walk back in, he was shaking his head. "Man, sometimes you are so dumb", he laughed. "What are you talking about?" "I love you, you’re my brother, but dang, did you not see how upset she was that you pushed her off into the guest room?" I started to regret my decision immediately. "She needed you even if it was just to hold her and comfort her and

According to Malik, Beherit is a storm demon who Rainn and Liam had a kill order on his second in command and brother Apollyon. Rainn Adalyn and I had the most amazing bonding ever and she finally marked me. I couldn't believe how good it felt, but then it all went to shit. That was three weeks ago. She's been in what the doctors have called a self-induced coma ever since. They have been able to do nothing to get her to wake up. I broke down and called Ard'al hoping that maybe he would know something. He came as soon as he could. He didn't tell the council where he was going because I wasn't ready for them to find out about Adalyn yet. He's been here for a week and a half in the library trying to research anything that could help us. I've been an absolute mess, not eating, not sleeping and barely showering. I haven't left her side for longer than necessary. I crawled into bed next to her as gently as I could, hoping that it would help, and thought back to all the events prior to her coma. Watching her take on Malik was amazing, even if I wanted to rip his throat out for what he said to her. She was

I mustered all the strength I could and finally pushed my eyes open. The room was dark and at first it didn't look like anyone was in here. I tried to adjust myself on the bed, "Rainn?", I called weakly. My throat was scratchy and even whispering hurt. I heard movement from across the room and a figure came running over to me. "Adalyn, are you truly awake? Rainn's going to be so happy." "Liam, where is Rainn and what happened?" "I think it would be better if you heard it from him but let me get you some water and I will get him." He went into the bathroom and brought me a glass of water which I drank in two gulps. Then he went out into the hallway and yelled for Rainn. I heard loud thuds, and it sounded like he was running. Rainn walked through the door cautiously, never taking his eyes off me. When he

I felt another prick in my neck and slowly feeling started to return. I’m not sure how long it took but I was eventually able to open my eyes. The light in the room was blinding. It took a few minutes for my eyes to adjust. “Welcome back to the land of the living.” I tried to move my arms, and when I looked, I realized I was in chains. I pulled on them but there was no slack. It looked like I was in a cell and it had to be underground. There were no windows anywhere. They had spotlights set up with the cords running under the bars at the door. “Don’t even try, believe me you won’t get out of them.” I turned toward the voice, “Want to bet?” “Oh, you are feisty. I like that but no you won’t. They are special just for you.” “Where’s Elodie?” He laughed, “Oh she’s around.” “Who are you.” The man stepped out of the shadows. He looked like he

Rainn I sat at my desk with my head in my hands. My office was trashed, my desk now broken in half. It’s been two weeks since Adalyn and Elodie went missing. That night I woke up out of a deep sleep with a feeling of dread in my stomach. I reached over but Addie was not in bed, her side was cold. I looked at the clock and it said 3:30 a.m. I got out of bed, threw a t-shirt and shorts on, and headed to look for her. She wasn’t in the bathroom, so I went downstairs next. The lights were on downstairs, the tea kettle was on the stove, and her tea was out but she was nowhere to be seen. I heard footsteps on the stairs and turned around to see Mercer. “Have you seen Elodie? I woke up and she’s not in bed.” Now I was starting to panic, both girls were now missing. “Addie wasn’t in bed either but when I came down the stuff for tea was out.” I felt a cool breeze just then and turned toward the patio door. It was open just a crack, which was odd. I pointed to the door and we h

Adalyn We packed up all our things, said our goodbyes to all our new friends and headed for our cars. Ard’al warned us that Oliver had contacted him and that they had tracked Tobias and Octavia to Seattle. “What do you want to bet that they are running to Typhon”, Ezra said. “He will die for what he did to Delilah”, Malik growled. “Ok big boy, calm down. I want to kill him just as bad as you do”, Delilah cooed at him. We loaded up and started the four-hour drive back to Seattle. The ride home was very different, everyone was quiet. Malik and Delilah were cuddled up in the back, Liam was staring out the window, and Rainn was staring forward with his hand on my leg. His thumb was rubbing circles on my thigh and I was starting to fall asleep. “Go ahead my love, I’ll wake you up when we get there.” I curled up in my seat with his hand settled between my thighs and let the darkness take me. “Adalyn we are home”, Rainn said waking me out of my dreamless sleep. I felt a tear slip down my cheek. “Little dreamer, I’m so sorry.” His eyes were pleading with me, I could tell he was in pain. “Tell me what happened. Why did you kill my father?” He took a breath, “At one point in my life Beherit was like a father to me. I worked for him as an enforcer and did everything he asked of me, no questions asked. He told me that he had an enemy that was meddling in his and Apollyon’s business. He gave me an address and a team. We went to the house but only I entered. I had no idea who was in the house or why Beherit had sent me here. Your father attacked me obviously and we fought. When I killed him, I heard your mother scream in agony upstairs. I looked at him, “Rainn what did I do?” “My love you are ok, Theo and Ard’al seemed to have figured out who and what you are.” I pushed him off and ran into the bathroom. I did my business and splashed water on my face. I had no idea what took over me when I killed those men. They deserved death but not necessarily from me. I went back out and Rainn was already dressed. “I figured that you wanted to have the meeting with them right away, so I already set it up.” “You are simply amazing Rainn; I love you so much.” “I love you too, we will get everything figured out and then we can travel the world if you want to.” “Oh my god, a vacation sounds amazing right now.” Rainn laughed and pushed me gently toward the closet for me to

I yelled orders for the doors to be guarded because no one, and I do mean no one was going to leave this room until I had answers that would satisfy me. "Liam, what in the hell is going on here? Ard'al, where have you been?" Ard'al called Ezra over to him, "Bring me all of the council members." Ezra looked confused, but he went through the crowd and one by one brought the members in front of Ard'al and put them on their knees. "Where is Councilman Tobias?", Ard'al asked.
