They arrived at the river bank. Some people were stretching out while some sat on the grassy bank. Others were talking or arguing on something.
'Ryan!'
Annabelle squealed as she latched herself on his arm. 'I was thinking you were never going to show up,' she cooed.
Ryan frowned. 'Get off me,' he said coldly. 'Yeah! Get off him!' Suzanne spat angrily, clenching her fist as she walked up to them.
Soon enough other girls gathered around, admiring Ryan.
'He's so cute...,'
'Hey Ryan...,'
'OMG!'
'Ryan, you're so hot!'
'Back off! He's mine!'
Ethan scowled. 'Just look at them swelling his already puffed-up head!'
Andrew continued reading his book undisturbed. Ryan closed his eyes and scoffed at the girls surrounding him. Of course Suzanne was amon
The instructors all nodded to themselves. The boy and the other rebels all came out and stood beside Riz. 'What's happening?' Suzanne asked Andrew quietly, tugging at his sleeve to get his attention..He shook her hand away.'This little incident was a test obviously,' he replied in a bored tone.'Test?' Ethan turned to him.The woman raised her hand for silence. 'Silence Squads of Superhero High! Earlier on we recieved a report on the stunt that was pulled at the entrance gate. We had to make sure we didn't have a pack of rebels so we had some people go against Riz to see if you'll join in or not.' she explained.'But it was only the outsiders that were protesting,' Suzanne said in a low tone. 'Exactly why we passed the test,' Ryan told her.'Oh...,' Ethan nodded.'And if you'd notice, Riz is wearing the same gad
Squad 10 all stood beside a tree, discussing in low tones.Andrew brought out his dagger which he used to make some markings on the tree.He glanced evenly at them.'You heard the instruction. We're to get to the other side yet we must not be dunked underwater or our team will be disqualified. Some of our instructors will act as barriers in the river and we'll have to be careful as various traps are laid around. A hero must be able to see through things and teamwork means everything,' Andrew had stated.'Okay. How does repeating what the instructors said help us in any way?' Ryan had challenged, his eyes was coldly disapproving.Andrew had ignored him as he continued talking to the other squad members.'The logic is simple. We'll just create a chain of ourselves to get to the other side. Ryan you'll be in the front while I'll be behind. That
The next activity ought to be easier. It was just to get to the other side of a smooth wall with the members of their team. They had just 10 minutes to get past the wall. And if they didn't get past it, then their team gets a strike down.Once the timer started counting, all the Squads moved into action quickly.Snow stood like a coach by the side lines and counted with her hands, then she blew her whistle. 'Go...go...go!' she urged her teammates to get a running start and try to jump over the wall.Edward and Justin cupped their hands together while trying to heave Wallis who had a jumping start over the wall. Annabelle stood beside them, ordering them to do it right.Suzanne turned to Andrew. 'What do we do?'Andrew looked thoughtful. 'We'll just go around it. Afterall the instructions never specified how to get past the wall.'Ryan
Suzanne entered into the small café that was in the camp. She quickly scanned around. The three boys were at a table already. They had placed their orders after growing tired of waiting for her. 'Oy! Over here Suzanne!' Ethan waved at her when he sighted her.Ryan turned to look at her. He still hadn't gotten over the pain of Suzanne's thudding his head, he narrowed his eyes at Ethan. How can he be so jolly with her after all that?He wondered.Ethan turned and caught him looking at him.'Why are you staring at me like that?' he questioned suspiciously.Ryan rolled his eyes and looked out of the window. 'I was just wondering how an irritation like you got stuck seated next to me, that's all,' he replied coldly.Ethan clenched his fists.'I got here first, you stuck up jerk!' he snapped at him.
'If you've noticed, the guy is the one who easily gets pissed off and the source of his annoyance is always the girl with the glasses or the red-head,' Suzanne began but was interrupted by Ethan's question.'Don't you think it'll be better if we use their names?' he asked. 'Like the guy's Luke and the girl with glasses is Janet and the red-head is Ava,' he finished.Suzanne grinned.'Yeah, sorry. I kind of forgot their names,' she said.'We start with pranks...I have loads of them,' she brought out a chart.'You're wasting your time.' Ryan cut in with a frigid tone.Ethan looked up at the tree branch where Ryan sat, looking down at them.'No one asked for your opinion!' Ethan shot back. Andrew was seated on the other side of the tree, using his phone.'You're sure you don't want to join in Ryan?' Suzanne asked hopef
Suzanne spied on Luke and Ava. They went to the robot laser section to train.'How's my choice?' Luke asked smugly.'Ehn--,' she shrugged. 'It's okay,' she replied as she went inside. They both geared up and then stepped in a cuboid training room. Luke set the control of the training bots from difficulty to easy.'Turn it all the way up,' Ava told him.'Let's test it out first,' he replied.'Fine,' she said.As they were training, Suzanne crept to the control switch and turned it all the way up to medium and snuck out to watch as the events unfolded. The lasers were getting more and coming faster at the trainees.'Did you turn it all the way up Ava? It's kinda faster,' Luke observed.'Nah!' Ava dodged a laser. 'But I think it's perfect!' she replied as she hit another laser, making it bounce off.
Suzanne grunted as she rested against a tree.Ryan and Andrew, who hadn't left the same spot since she and Ethan left them both, turned to look at her and her bandaged arm.'I won't even ask what happened,' Andrew stated, bored.'Lots of bricks...fell on me!' she groaned.'I didn't ask,' Andrew replid and Ryan smirked. 'Seems your plan failed.''Not yet. Ethan would have succeeded,' she replied hopefully. Not too long afer, Ethan came and sank down on the grass, exhausted.'Well?' Suzanne asked him. He shook his head and turned to her.'What happened to you?!' he exclaimed in surprise. She waved it off.'Plan B!' she said firmly.'Yeah! I'm not giving up now either!' Ethan grinned. She giggled as Ethan made some changes to the plan. 'This is better, don't you think?' he turned
The sunlight that flooded in obstructed their view of the person.'I can explain!' Suzanne said quickly as she and Ethan both stood up.'Don't bother. I have a pretty good hypothesis of what happened,' a bored voice replied.'Andrew?!' Ethan exclaimed, never more pleased to hear that bored tone.Andrew and Ryan came into view. 'You were right. They did try to prank them in their room afterall.' Ryan scoffed.'Judging from situations, things didn't quite work out as you planned.' Andrew stated as he eyed Suzanne and Ethan from the door way.'Come on out,' Ryan instructed them.Suzanne and Ethan quickly rushed out. Andrew locked the door back with his device. 'How did you find us?' Ethan asked. 'We were trapped. It was so horrible!' Suzanne shivered.Andrew rolled his eyes. 'It was so troublesome going out of my way
The alarm clock beeped.A brunette stirred lazily on the bed. She tried to find the snooze button all to no avail. She clenched her hand into a fist and knocked the alarm clock away from her bedside table, sending it up in the air and crashing into her room's wall, making a big dent and destroying the alarm clock along with it.Suzanne turned to her other side to resume her sleep. This was Herotapolis, where the heroes lived. In this city there lived real, breathing heroes. You could tell already by the name of the city right?Hero League was an organization that pooled together normal people and trained them to become heroes. From chasing of bank robbers to extinguishing of fires in burning buildings, to serving as body guards to important people as well as getting stranded animals down from trees, or odd places, the heroes were ever availa
Suzanne yawned as she got off her bed.It had been a week since the E-rank exam. Their E-rank crest had been given to Coach Gwen but she said they had one final minor test to take before they were given their final E-ranks and then they'll meet their M.D corp three days after.Suzanne got her brush and combed her hair.Ryan was discharged the previous day so she knew he would be present today. She smiled at the thought. She had to look her best today. She got out her ribbon and packed her hair in a neat pony tail. She decorated her hair with her accessories.'Wassup, loser,' Shane leaned on her door post.'Hey Shane,' She decided to start ignoring the loser stuff ever since she heard that Shane had followed the guards that were taking Kyle away to give him a big talking to then he had landed a punch...or had attempted to at least.'Andrew's
'The judges have decided that Kyle Quole will be scratched out of the hero-league program due to the behavior he exibited today. But this decision shouldn't affect squad 12 so they shall be assigned a new Slad to join their group. Marissa Cartwell,' the Tifex said.'She has all her complete points and therefore can not be a hinderance to the team,' he concluded on that matter.'Suzanne O'Izzy, the judges have decided you are granted a win due to the situation on ground. Hence your battle with Kyle is crowned with you as the winner,' he stated.Suzanne couldn't stop her wide grin. Man, was she lucky!'And since Ryan Ziantez and Caleb Marsh had been shot, both will be given a pass too, however Andrew Frankstin and Lucas Will who remains standing will have the last battle. Their battle shall hold and the total counting shall rest on their shoulders.'The Tifex announced.
The crowd watched in open mouthed amazement.'Jesus, please help Suzanne,' Aiden prayed silently, his head bowed. It was the only thing he could do.Kevin glanced at him before facing the ring again. 'You sure are a terrible CIN, Aiden,' Kevin chuckled. 'I'm sure when CIN Rodrick was your age, he sure did a better job.'Aiden rolled his eyes.Suzanne yelped as a bullet whizzed past her.'He has a gun!' she shrieked, cowing on the spot. The comentator didn't know what to say. In all his years of moderating in contests, this was the first time someone wasn't fighting back.Shane watched as his twin ran around the ring while her bulky opponent, who was assigned to face her, fired off flames from the second gun he held.'Stay still!' Kyle hissed at her as he pursued her.
The noise of the crowd had quietened down. Now most eyes, if not all, were on the Squads that stood in a straight line assembled below. The Tifex moved about as he addressed the audience and the Slads.'Here are the instructions, listen up because I'm going to say this only once and that's it.' The Tifex said to the squads. He gestured to the field.'Over there, behind those red lines, the different squads facing each other will stand. But note, one person faces off only a person from the other team. And the match between the two will last for just a minute. The person that remains standing after the one minute time laspe will be the winner.'He looked back at the judges and nodded stiffly.'Since there are four members in each team, each team member will face the person he's facing opposite on the other line. If the time is up a
The squads that passed the first round were all assembled on a straight line and were made to face the panel that came from the headquarters. At their right was a battle ground with red lines marked close to the end of both sides, leaving a vast amount of space for dueling in the middle. A Tifex stood in the middle of the mini-field to act as a referee for the contestants. At the four corners of the huge wall, lots of seats were raised on a higher podium so as to prevent the fighters from reaching the onlookers.Defense mechanism shields were also put up in a form of glass around the places the audience would seat.Hence it was assured to be a safe match. The audience could easily watch the match below them without any worry of being injured by the fighters. The judges had a separate seat from everyone else. The CINs' seats were some feet behind the judges
Andrew stopped using his laptop and looked up. It all makes sense now. He thought. He then snorted as he looked past Ryan who gave him a puzzled expression which was ignored. Andrew stood up and headed for the door. He walked ten feet away from it and stopped, a frown of concentration was deeply etched on his face.'What are you doing?' Ryan asked with mild interest. Andrew continued to ignore him.Andrew bent down and felt the ground. 'Just as I thought,' he muttered to himself.'What is it Andrew?' Ryan asked again. He walked up to Andrew's side.Just then Suzanne and Ethan ran up to them, breathless.'Where's the package?' Ryan asked them both, extending a hand towards them swiftly. Ethan shrugged and raked his hand through his hair. 'We don't have it. We didn't see anything.'Ryan's gaze hardened as he appraised Ethan and Suzanne coldly.
'How are we going to find anything in this vast land?' Ryan wondered aloud.Andrew was deep in thought too.'And the others must not find our package! It's an impossible task!' Suzanne wailed.Ethan cupped his hands over both his eyes like a binocular. 'I can't even see the end of this land....,' he whistled. 'Then there's the forest and mountains. Quite an impossible task, I'll say,' he concluded warily.Andrew paced around, deep in thought. An hour is hardly enough for searching. We could search for months and not find it....there's more to it than this. He continued thinking hard.We are allowed to find other Squads' packages...that must mean something. Andrew got out his laptop and started working on it.'We are doomed! Doomed I tell you!' Suzanne stamped her foot on the ground. The ground shook everytime she brought her leg down. 'Doomed
Suzanne shuffled from one feet to the other nervously. Aiden had picked them all up so that no one would turn up late. They all stood at the entrance of the extremely large hall of Super Hero High.Aiden flashed his ID card for the perusal of the guards that were stationed at the backstage entrance for only the contestants. They turned and entered. A small table was at the entrance of the main hall. That room led to various sections and other compartments of the hall but all entrances had a guard beside them. They had to check in with one of the Tifex. Those are the instructions that are in charge of every examination. The main room was beginning to get filled up as more squads trooped in with their CINs.A Tifex headed towards them.'I'm Silverstin. The CIN of squad 10. We've registered since two days ago,' Aiden told him. The r
