The next day was the first day that Shane attended his classes. After the orientation the previous day, he knew that he should try his best not to piss of too many people. He almost got into a fight simply because he wanted to eat his lunch. Were all students of Sommerset so sensitive? Shane arrived on campus by foot again. He enjoyed walking the distance from the dormitory. As he was walking, he saw a lot of students driving luxurious cars. It was a nice aesthetic, but Shane felt that flaunting your wealth around just to impress other students was kind of superficial. That is why he and Andrew got along so well. Andrew came from a rich family who could afford anything he set his eyes on. But he never let his wealth get to his head. Never once did he judge or treat someone else poorly just because of their financial status. Shane appreciated the fact that his friend was unapologetically sincere. As he was reminiscing about his high school days, something caught his eye. He saw a BM
Shane first went back to the dorm to freshen up. He wasn’t really into social gatherings, but if he didn’t want to be seen as an outcast in his class. He knew that the sooner he interacted with his classmates, the better. He also kept reminding himself that he was on a deadline and that he had to make sure he get his hands on some funds as soon as possible. Around quarter to seven the evening, Shane arrived at the le Chapeau, a French restaurant located in the heart of Los Angeles. It was quite a fancy place, but the prices. Shane swallowed hard as he thought about what it would cost to dine there. After a few minutes he saw a few familiar faces. It was his classmates. To Shane’s surprise, a few of them even brought along dates. He was worried for Hilton’s budget, since he thought some of the guys should be more considerate. After all, they were not the ones who were going to settle the bill. Shane was wearing casual, but even so, he still looked quite handsome. He had on a shirt,
Shane was almost ten feet away from the robbers when he looked over in the direction of Hilton and Isabel. Isabel had fiery angry eyes as she glared daggers at Hilton. She couldn't believe that her boyfriend was so spineless that he accepted them getting robbed without even putting up a fight. What kind of man would do that? Shane also noticed that Hilton was hysteric. It seemed like it was the first time he ever found himself in a situation like that, and judging from his actions, he had no idea what he should do. Shane pitied him, because it wasn't really his fault and there was nothing he could do about it. "No, hand over the keys of the car, right now," the female said. It seemed like she was miraculously cured from the injuries she sustained when Hilton hit her with the car. When she heard the demands, Isabel almost lost it. Who did the woman think she was? Did she really think Isabel would give her the car without giving up a fight. She had to beg her parents for two years bef
Shane drove back to his dormitory in silence. He had no idea what Hilton did when he left him alone, although he was worried about the state of mind he was in. Shane wondered what was going through both his and Isabel’s minds. The two of them just survived a very traumatic experience. It would make sense if they fought and made up very soon. Shane arrived at the dormitory, but when he opened the door, he saw two new faces in the living room. The two boys he saw turned out to be his new dorm mates. The two of them were going to share the other room, since Shane and Calvin were sharing one already. When they saw Shane’s face, the two boys looked at him from head to toes and just sighed. The boys had the appearances of rich spoiled brats. Shane was in no mood to entertain them at all. He just greeted the two boys and went to his room. When he saw his bed, Shane threw himself on the soft mattress. He was exhausted and just wanted to lay down for a while. Shane was still in bed thinking
The more Shane exposed what happened, the more angry Isabel grew. How dare Shane talk so much. He even made it sound as if she was the one who pushed Hilton over the edge. The dean listened attentively before he decided he had enough. He didn’t say anything else, but he did tell Isabel to leave the two of them. He also gave her a stern warning to never cause such a scene on campus again. It was unbefitting of her and it was especially rude since she was a first year student. Isabel agreed and left the two of them alone. The dean had a sad expression as he looked at Shane's face. He signaled to the boy to sit down on the chair opposite his. Shane did exactly what was asked of him. He was still fuming with the way Isabel accused him. What nerve she had. "Mr Lincoln, I know that you are innocent and that you have nothing whatsoever to do with the incident involving Mr Jackson," the dean said. He was still deep in thought as his eyes avoided Shane's. One could see that he was in a batt
The voice belonged to Calvin’s father, Richard Fry. He was surprised to see one of his own bodyguards get disarmed so easily. Who was Shane and where did he come from? However, Mr Fry wasn’t satisfied at all. He stopped Shane from dealing the decisive blow because he thought Shane was about to end the life of one of his bodyguards. He just couldn’t stand by and watch it happen. “You three, go get him!” Mr Fry ordered to the other three bodyguards he had around him. Calvin was still shell shocked from when he saw Shane take out the bodyguard like that. He didn’t know Shane was really that capable. Calvin’s plan was to ask his father to be his bodyguard and when his father would ask Shane to demonstrate his skills, he would ask the guards who would be up against him to throw the match. It didn’t look like it was needed with the first guard, but since it was three now, Calvin knew that Shane was in trouble. The three men attacked in unison. The goal was not to give Shane an opening a
After a month of training that way, Calvin could finally notice a difference in his body. His abs became more toned, and his muscles were growing larger and larger. Calvin felt that there was progress in building his body, but he was still pretty much useless in a real fight since he didn’t train how to do that. “When are we finally going to learn how to throw some hands,” Calvin asked impatiently. Shane shook his head. Didn’t Calvin know that one first had to walk before they could run. Since it was a Saturday morning and there was no school, Shane told Calvin that they would start his combat skill training the following morning. Shane was impressed that Calvin managed to improve so much in a month’s time. Shane told Calvin that he could take the day off and rest. Doing too much exercises were not necessarily good for the body. One had to allow themselves to cool down from time to time."I think about trying out for the soccer team," Shane suddenly said out of the blue. There was
"I must say, I am quite impressed. Who would have thought you had such talent?" she teased him. Shane blushed as he heard those words. "Please don't tell me you have been standing around all this time," Shane said. Melissa nodded. She was passing by the soccer field since it was weekend, but she saw the strangest sight as she was walking by. There was a student in the middle of the field, playing soccer while wearing glasses. That was the strangest sight she had ever seen. The closer she got, the more familiar the student looked to her. It was only when he was fouled in the penalty box and he removed his glasses for a second, that she realised that they boy was Shane. Without a doubt Shane was the best player in the match. "I watched your match, and I must say, you're pretty talented. I can't wait to see more of you," she said. "My match was at 11 in the morning. Don't tell me you have been waiting around for almost 7 hours!" Shane exclaimed. Melissa looked to the ground, hiding he
