Chapter 5

The sky grew darker, and the only light around the campsite came from a few small lamps.

Tim and Shawn were nowhere to be seen. Perhaps they were resting in their tents or hiding somewhere, watching us from the shadows.

I shivered as the chilly mountain air brushed against my skin. The flimsy fabric of my swimsuit did little to protect me from the cold.

But as soon as I slipped into the hot spring, the warmth enveloped me, melting away the chill. The water felt amazing, and the faint scent of sulfur confirmed that this was indeed a natural spring.

The water rose to my chest, and the steam swirled around me in the cool night air. I let out a contented sigh, fully enjoying the soothing heat.

"Where are they?" I asked, glancing around.

Before I could get an answer, a large bubble suddenly popped in the yellowish spring water near me, catching my attention. I barely had time to focus before two dark heads emerged from beneath the surface with a splash.
