Lara stared up at Mike's face and she said, "Maybe a maid job if I can find one, or a cleaner or servant."

Mike's eyes narrowed at Lara as his brows subtly knotted, and he said, "No. I cannot let you do that kind of a job."

Lara stared at Mike in surprise as she saw his countenance change and his smile disappear, to be replaced with a glare, making her shiver.

Lara asked him, "Why?... I mean, I just have to find work, so I can leave here when I have saved enough money."

Mike replied, "No. You cannot be a maid. Do you know what being a maid is all about? Wait, don't think about Joseph as my maid or servant. He's free to do whatever he wants here, and that might not be the same with every other master out there or madam either, depending on who you want to work for. But that's aside, I cannot sit back and watch you serve anyone, not when I'm here and knowing you're under my custody now."

Lara shivered, and she gulped and fumbled to ask him, "Why? But I cannot keep staying here idle. I ne
