52: Almost kissed again

Mike was unable to stay still, sitting on his parlor's executive couch and lost in thought. He sighed, and just then, Joseph knocked and stepped into the parlor.

Joseph spoke, "Boss, should I serve dinner?"

Mike looked at the parlor wall clock, seeing it was 6:30 p.m. He sighed and replied, "No, not yet."

Joseph answered, "Okay, boss," and left the parlor, knowing Mike was probably thinking about Lara since he wasn't using his laptop either.

Joseph went to the kitchen to switch off the gas cooker, having finished preparing their dinner, and retired to his chamber, knowing that when Mike or Lara needed his service, they would call him.

At Ernest Villa, Mrs. Cindy went downstairs to the kitchen to prepare dinner. She didn't ask Stella anything more related to Mike, as she saw that he truly hadn't shown up despite calling him in the morning to come home.

Mrs. Cindy thought of going to Mike's house rather than calling him again, as actions spoke louder than words.

She examined the
