CHAPTER TWENTY-ONE

Marcus was still lost in thought, making his resolutions.

"What are you thinking?"

Marcus looked at Jane and beamed. "Nothing, just making my own resolutions."

"Wanna share?" Jane asked, flirting with her eyelashes.

Marcus smirked. "Are you sure you want to hear it?"

"Umhm," Jane nodded.

"Well," Marcus bit his lower lip trying to find an easy way to say it without sending her back into her shell. "Let's just say I do not want to be scared of you anymore."

Jane snickered. "For real?"

Marcus nodded.

Her eyes were hurt, she didn't like the idea of being feared, at least now. She had taken on the bratty, rude, arrogant behavior as a protective shield, and she had enjoyed the way people were so Ina hurry to please her so she won't get mad, but now, she felt like a monster. "But you are not afraid of me are you?"

Marcus groaned. "Ah Jane, I do not mean I'm afraid of you physically!"
