EMORY’S POV

No matter how I looked at it, the Princess felt so familiar. Everything about her was screaming Freya except she could do things Freya couldn’t. My lost fiancée would be so bold and assertive. She was always meek, gentle and submissive. Also, the Princess was way more elegant, prettier and classy.

“I must be thinking things” I consoled myself and shook my head to snap out of it.

At some point, I had to talk to Selene about and she also thought the same except for the fact that the Princess had everything I had mentioned earlier and Freya doesn’t.

Also, since she ran away from the pack out of shame, she wouldn’t be able to approach me and reveal herself was my conclusion. There’s no mate that would take back a cheating partner so she would want to save herself the humiliation. With all these, I decided to discard the thoughts of looking into her deeply and just went for the farewell party.

The Princess announced her engagement with the Beta’s son and everyone cheered happil

FREYA’S POVI knew what I was going to do was risky and I honestly don’t know what Remy would ask in return for this huge favor he did for me but at least, I was confident that I had him as my shield for now. Who knew when next I would see the bastard Emory? And even if I eventually return home, there’s no probability that anyone would rebuke him for what he did, he’s the Beta’s son after all. After thinking far and wide, I concluded that the best revenge I could give him was making my identity known to him after getting engaged to Remy. He would be furious that his plan got ruined because I made it into a happy place instead of being miserable like he had expected. He would also be pained that he cannot even expose me because I already knew his crime and I had a witness, Ansel. If he opened his mouth, that was him asking for a death sentence.Curiosity about how I made it, how I got accepted and every other things involving me would eat him up every day with no one to answer his ques

Prince Bain returned to the palace the next morning and was told the news about the Princess’s engagement to Remy by his spies.“What? She really announced her engagement? That’s crazy and unexpected. Well, she’s a psycho so I shouldn’t be shocked” he remarked, throwing his tunic to one side before his maid rushed to pick it up on his behalf“Did any other drama happened? Remy didn’t raise an objection or so?” he asked further“He honored it. Why should he object? It was what he had been waiting for all these years” his right hand man responded in frustration.“That’s true. He had been waiting beside her for years so why would he object to it. I should send them my congratulation gifts then. If she’s surrendering this way, I wonder if she’s tired of fighting with me” he giggled as he rushed to have his food.He couldn’t stop grinning about the engagement news. It felt like something huge has been taken out of his way and a sense of relief came over him as he ate the food in front of h

“Bring it in”The door opened and the gift was brought in by his attendant. Both the Prince and Remy watched in anticipation as the attendant took every step closer to them. Seeing how long the gift was, they were not sure what exactly she packaged inside the huge gift box.“She sure prepared something spectacular seeing the package alone” Remy muttered as he watched them place the gift on the table.“My palms are so sweaty, I cannot bring myself to open this. Will you help me out?” Prince Bain panicked, streams of spit rolling down his throat in the interval of seconds.Remy stood up and reached for the box. “I have never seen someone too nervous to open a gift” he mocked him and flipped the lid of the box open to show a brand new sword. A yellow bunch of silk thread was hanging around the lid to signify royalty.“What in the world….?” Prince Bain blurt out, his knees buckled and went weak“She’s really something else” Remy muttered and picked the letter.“I hope you can pick up the

FREYA’S POVLacey and Hailey couldn’t believe that I sent a sword to Prince Bain in return for the dress gift he sent. I stood there monitoring them as they packaged it and I could see them exchange glances as they proceeded with every steps.“I know you are both mind-linking each other. Will you spit out whatever it is now or I should have it spanked out of you?” I threatened and they sighed. They have had enough. I know that I was robbing them of the only way to gossip but I wanted to be let in on that gossip too.“I mean, there’s no reason to send out such a gift when the Prince sent you a lovely dress” Lacey dropped without holding back“Ah ah” I nodded continuously and slowly as I approached them with folded arms.“You must have been dying to pour it out” I added and she sealed her lips. She must have been regretting how she said it immediately I gave them the chance but I was enjoying the play.“You told us to spit it out” she mumbled under her breathe as her fingers play with e

The huge black gate with the big wolf’s head symbol opened for me for the first time ever since I had the miscarriage issue and as expected, the air out of the stuffy palace was much better. I stopped as soon as I stepped outside completely.“It smells like freedom here” I shouted to their surprise and attracted the attention of the passerby“I know that you are crazy but must everyone in the pack be aware of that fact too?” Prince Bain mumbled as he rushed to cover my mouthWith anger, I threw his hand off my mouth and my forehead folded into a frown to express my disgust.“Put your dirty hands off my mouth. Are you trying to pass me some germs?” I yelled and Remy who was tired of our childish tantrums intervened“It’s not too late to turn back. I cannot deal with this if you both will only bicker all day” he stated strictly and we were forced to compose ourselves even though we were still shooting lasers at ourselves through our eyes.“Now I know why the Princess never liked him. PRINCE BAIN’S POVI was so pissed at the way she exploded right in my face and returned to the palace with immediate effect. She just made an issue out of nothing. Nobody would have questioned us if we decided to cut through the ridiculous line and just play the fucking game so why was she so adamant and bent on staying in the long queue.“Get this thing out of my face!” I growled at my attendant as soon as my eyes landed on the gift she sent to me. It was still on the table where I had left it.With immediate effect, the terrified attendant got rid of the sword and placed it where I wouldn’t see it. I took my bath and tried to do other things in order to get the issue off my mind since it was getting me madder by the second but nothing was working.“You must have hurt her real bad, she has never burst out in your face like that” Leo grumbled from within and my forehead folded into a frownI sprang up from the bed and assumed the sitting position in order to counter his claim. FREYA’S POVThe fall was a dreadful one but thanks to Remy, I was able to come back to the palace with my skull intact. The staring competition between us was cut short by one of the figurines that shattered right at his feet and he slowly let me down from his arms after letting out a soft cough.“That must have been terrifying” he mumbled and I nodded sheepishly as I returned to my seat with immediate effectBreaking the ice of silence that came after, he teased “You lost interest in games now?” and his lips curved into a smileI released a slight chuckle as I sprang up once again. “Not today” I responded with the same joking tone and he motioned for me to come closer, which I did without hesitation. He led me to the shooting booth where we competed against each other crazily but he was always winning and that was getting on my nerves. We got to the palace and the Prince was sitting in one of the pavilions so I decided to walk Remy there before leaving for my own quarters.“Wow! It must feel good to be engaged. What an asshole!“I called you here because I am so bored and I have no one to play with. Will you mind joining me?” Prince Bain said to Remy, pointing to the board game that was already set out on the tableRemy knew he had no choice than to just play the game since the Prince didn’t even give him the option to decline.“I will not go easy on you” he stated firmly and Prince Bain approved of it.They started the game and in the first few minutes, the Prince was having the upper hand and I was so annoyed because he didn’t shut up about his wins, he kept blabbering about how he had played the game since he was

I didn’t want to serve as a disturbance even though he wouldn’t count it as one but I couldn’t hold it anymore one day and went to visit him in the library. I had taken my time to make him the honey biscuit snacks that he said was his favorite and marched to the library on the last day of his preparation. He was to take the exams the following day outside the pack where his teachers would be examining him in different aspects. “Hey!” I called out to him and waved with a big smile at the library’s door One could tell from his face that suddenly brightened up that he was so happy to see me “How is it going? “Did I love Julia truly?” he asked again and I kept my gaze, waiting for his answer“I did love her but I wouldn’t say as much as I love you. When we were mated, I told her that I wouldn’t do it since I couldn’t feel the attraction even though we were mates and she told me to just pretend. She said she didn’t mind all the love and all that as long as I can protect her and also help her out in her missions. Since I didn’t hate her too, I just accepted and we had no problem. I did all she asked for and I never pressured her, I waited by her side for five years to see her decision which she recently made by rejecting me” he answered without breaking the gaze lock we hadA sigh dropped from me at what he said and I stepped back. For months, I wasn’t allowed to step out of the house without adequate protection. My dramatic parents even hired guards to follow me out anytime I had to something outside the house. At the end of the fifth month, I had to fight them about it and told them that I was strong enough to defend myself and they eventually withdrew the guards. That afternoon, I was in the house knitting in my free time when the door to my room opened“I have to deliver some sweaters but I am tired right now. I will take them there in the evening” My mother said to me as she came inside my room to check up on me since I was there all day“Give them to me. I will deliver them on your behalf” I proposedShe was excited at my offer, it was the reason why she was there obviously. She wanted me to go out on her behalf but didn’t want to tell me directly. I didn’t know what to say at first so I just continued staring at her till she spoke up.“Was the life in the palace bearable? It must not have been easy to pretend that you were the Princess” she finally askedI nodded my head twice, softly and responded. “It was a bit bearable. The doctor’s report gave me the pass I needed” “The doctor’s pass?” her brows curved in confusion“Yea. I woke up to get a report that I had lost my memories even though they were intact” I confirmed and a smile flashed through her lips“Doctor Dax haven’t stopped jumping into conclusions” she murmured but it was loud enough for me to hear“So I heard that you insisted on going back to your pack” she added and I confirmedA little time of silence followed as we both stared at each other without saying a word.“Why don’t you stay though? The palace is wide enough to contain us” she proposed but I only laughed and shook my head“I would have loved to do that but my place is not here. It would be awkward to sta

Uncle Anson found out from one of the soldiers that saw the Prince walking to the flower field and knew that he might have seen the vampire sucking the lad he captured for him. Immediately, he got in contact with the vampires’ side and told them that they have to strike unannounced because the Prince was already catching up on them. They had waited for the Prince to come back to the border and entered the pack unnoticed through the help of Uncle Anson who was in charge of the border. Unknown to them, the other side also had their plans ready so they weren’t caught unprepared. He had wanted to take over the pack with the help of the humans so he sold the captured wolves from other packs to the human world by letting them by through their own packs as a route for years and got money in return. The minister in the human world couldn’t help him since wolves were thousand times stronger than the humans but connected him with the vampire world who could help him out.Over the years, he had

We were not prepared to leave yet but we had no choice to be on our way and there was no enough time to alert Freya.“I just hope that they are preparing hard over there” I sighed as I grabbed unto the small bag and slung it over my shoulder while I took Onieros by the hand“I know a shortcut to the werewolves’ packs. FREYA’S POVI finally remembered that I had seen the currency from Uncle Anson and raced back to the library to tell Remy that I had found the place I saw it and told him where. He couldn’t process the reason why he would have it and tried to give excuses that it might have been a souvenir he received from the passing human merchants at the border but I was not convinced. It was too many to be tagged as a souvenir and I was sure there was something else fishy going on. He had too much pointing at him to be pure.“I think we need to include the Prince at this time. He needs to know what’s happening in the pack so we can all prepare” I suggested to Remy who in turn told me to calm down and find a solid evidence before taking a step since it involves the Alpha’s uncle“You know Julia also told me about the vampire plan. We have to alert the appropriate quarters as soon as possible. This fight cannot be won if fought silently” I insisted and right there, the Prince walked in on us“What f

I couldn’t sleep well after the Princess left because of what she said. It was what I had been waiting for all the days of my life but now that she mentioned it, I felt reluctant to leave. I was used to the palace and everyone around there, I was starting to know them and also build relationship with them, to be sincere, I was also in love with Remy even though I knew I shouldn’t do that.“I honestly do not know what to do” I sighed under the huge blanket and slowly drifted off to sleep after a long night of tossing and turning***The sun was high in the sky before I woke up thanks to my tiredness and I decided to spend each passing day meaningfully as from that morning. I drafted out everyone I wanted to spend each day with and what I wanted to do with and for them so I would have enough time to say a proper goodbye before the next Friday that the Princess would come back to my dreams.I got several bundles of yarn in different colors and sat inside all day, knitting several pieces

I knew that would be the next question they would ask and I was ready to provide the answer on the condition that none of them would make any move on Emory until I was ready to do so. From their talk, it was evident that he was now the acting Beta in place of his father and his governance was a bit ruthless. After telling the story of how I ran away and what happened between me and Ansel, their jaws were on the floor. They could not believe Emory could do all I had said because of how he pretended to love me unconditionally but actually had another plan for me.“You son of the devil! How could you do that her?” my mother growled and charged at Ansel who didn’t avoid her even though he could since he saw her coming. He probably didn’t dodge because he believed he deserved it.“It was not his fault.
